Location was great - all of Ay is walkable. Property is functional but sparsely decorated. No soap or shampoo in the bathrooms and towels were small and old. Also no nice “welcome” touches provided - like coffee!! Not at the level we were expecting based on our experience of other vacation properties we have rented in Europe.

Bon weekend

Nous avons passé un bon weekend dans ce gîte spatieux.Une cuisine bien équipée, une sale à manger assez grande, un salon agréable, des chambres bien equipées.Néanmoins, certaines améliorations sont possibles: quelques réparations sont nécessaires. Et pour avoir un comfort plus grand ils nous faut un frigo plus grand et plus d'une serviette par personne.Nous reviendrons certainement!

A perfect Champagne stay

La Maison du Canal is a fantastic home for groups or families who want to experience Champagne. It was perfect for us, as we had a mixed group of people and needed both twin and queen beds, space, and a well equipped kitchen with a huge kitchen table. We enjoyed meals there, and relaxed in the equally spacious living room, as well as outside in the garden. The house has everything you need - linens, towels, dishes and glassware, a clothes washer and dryer, and even an iron and ironing board. Several in our group enjoyed the ping pong table. There are even infant and toddler beds and toys. The house is in the village, so we were able to walk to coffee shops and restaurants and of course the champagne houses. It is located, as indicated, on the canal, so we enjoyed walks and runs along the beautiful paths. Our hosts were so kind; I was concerned about our limited (read almost non-existent) French, and happily Veronoque speaks perfect English. She helped us find Champagne tours in English, as well as other gems nearby. They were both immediately available before and during our stay and answered all questions. This house is simply a perfect option in Champagne, and we hope to stay there when we return.

Gîte fonctionnel pour une réunion entre amis

Le gîte est grand, très propre et très bonne communication avec l’hôte Le séjour étant à l’étroit pour accueillir les 12 convives nous avons beaucoup utilisé la cuisine avec sa très grande table agréable Tout peut se faire à pied (excellents plateaux apéritif dînatoire chez Baillet et huître chez le chalutier recommandés par la propriétaire) très bon restaurant avarum ! A noter que les chambres ne sont pas bien insonorisées et que dès que quelqu’un est debout et parle dans la maison tout le monde entend tout

Easy check-in. We felt at home immediately. The hosts were kind enough to bring us bikes when we wanted to go for a ride. We had a wonderful time in the area.

Bel emplacement pour découvrir le vignoble

Si nous recherchions une propriété plus "campagnarde", celle-ci est finalement idéalement placée à proximité des vignobles et du bord de Marne pour des balades sans prendre la voiture, et des commerces d'Ay pour des courses de dernière minute. Suffisamment isolée pour profiter de la terrasse, nous avons apprécié son calme. L'équipement est très suffisant pour un séjour en voyageant léger. Tous les convives (groupe de 8 garçons) ont loué le choix de ce bien, dont les propriétaires ont su rester disponibles et discrets.

Fijn huis dicht bij Epernay

Fijn verblijf gehad samen met vrienden. Prima huis met tuin en bbq. In 5 min ben je in Epernay met de auto of bus en eventueel in 45 minuten te voet. Zeker een aanrader.
