Great property for two! Friendly staff. Kind of far from the city center but close to Secret Beach. Very bumpy roads but that’s part of the experience!

This place was the perfect place for my solo trip. Quiet, beautiful property, and well kept. Location was great. Restaurants and bars within walking distance. Comfortable bed and pillows. Lots of towels for use. Full size fridge and freezer. I will be going back to stay here again, it was wonderful!

Great stay. Wonderful setting. Just be aware the kitchen area is small and the room itself does not have much storage space for luggage and gear - but hey, all you need here is a few shorts and t shirts right.

Beautiful property right on the beach. Very clean. Gach was there to Welcome us as we checked in. Bars and restaurants close by. Very quiet and peaceful. We throughly enjoyed our stay at this property.

We had a lovely 2-week stay at Las Amapolas. The room and property was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. It was very peaceful. Gach is a very attentive host - he was very welcoming and informative. Our room had everything we needed for our stay. We loved waking up to beautiful Caribbean sunrises! We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

Such a great little place to stay! I loved loved how quiet it was! Gach is an amazing host. My flights were delayed and he had no issues accommodating and being helpful! That sunrise and that view is just amazing.

Excellent getaway

Off the main strip, quiet and beautiful sunrises. Gach was friendly and checked to make sure we had what we needed. We would definitely stay there again!

Great stay!! Will for sure be booking again

Great, quiet spot right on the beach, room was enough size for 2 people, bed was great, AC cooled the room very well at night, beautiful view off the balcony, ocean breezes all day... really no complaints, just had a fantastic time and will be going back for sure.

Gach was excellent! We were able to get an earlier flight into San Pedro and he was able to accommodate us by meeting us with our golf cart 3 hours early. Thanks to "ROCKS golf carts" for the reliable cart, directions and lunch suggestions. Also, thanks to Thomas and Jules for an excellent fishing/snorkling trip, which was the highlight of our trip.

The place and host were great. The location currently was a bit far from all our activities. The road to the location was in far worse shape than last year. Therefore, we moved closer to town after two days and could not recover any costs.

We completely understand your decision to move due to the road conditions during your stay. Unfortunately, road maintenance in our area is handled by the local authorities and can sometimes be affected by weather, especially during certain seasons. We always do our best to inform guests in advance when conditions may be challenging. Regarding the refund, cancellations and refunds are processed strictly according to the policies of the booking platform, and as hosts we are required to follow their guidelines. Honeymoon stay

We booked this property for our honeymoon stay and first time trip to the island. Our overall experience was 5 stars. The casita is great and located far enough from town for it to be peaceful and quiet. Thank You Gach for a wonderful place to stay.

My husband and I loved our stay!!! It was absolutely beautiful. The family that lives there are so welcoming and warm. We did a fishing excursion with Thomas, that lives on the property and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend staying here when you visit San Pedro!

Beautiful view

We enjoyed our stay…the balcony and view were unbeatable. Gach met us the day we checked in at the residence and his team helped coordinate our arrival and a golf cart. If you are looking to relax in an out of the way quiet place, this is it.

The studio was right on the beach. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need. Good communication.

Overall a great stay with a couple issues. Kitchenette could use a better hotplate. There also is no television in the room. WiFi was good, area is quiet but entrance from the street could be improved. Had a great time though!! We will be back!!

Welcome to Ambergris Caye - The Caye to Happiness!

I was born and raised in San Pedro and proud to call this island home. As a true sampedrano, I love the food, the sea breeze, the smell of salt in the air, and the friendly faces that make this place special.


Due to my job my first cousin Nellie of Nellie"s Property Management is in charge of Las Amapolas. She is also a native of the island.

The land has been in the family for over a 100 years. It was a coconut grove in its early days. Coconut harvesting was the main industry of the island before fishing and tourism. The beach is beautiful and the Belize Barrier Reef is only a few laps from the shore. Crystal clear waters good for snorkeling and fishing. One of my brothers and I decided to build a casita to spend our free time and at the same time share it with tourists that are looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy a peaceful vacation. It is a little piece of paradise on a sandy beach tucked among coconut trees. Naturally beautiful.

Las Amapolas is unique because its is out from town and still close enough to enjoy the charm of San Pedro Town. Its on one of the most beautiful areas of the island, Mata Grande, where sunrises are beautiful and just relaxing on one of the lounge chair or on a hammock feels like being in paradise. The sky is lit with stars at night and if you happen to be here during a full moon you will fall in love. The famous Secret Beach is only a fifteen minute ride away on golf cart. The property is still the way the Caribbean use to be - naturally beautiful.
