Team Training Trip

We are a high school cross country team from Miami, FL. We wanted to get some hill training in before the season starts. This was the PERFECT location. Not only could we run on property, but we were minutes away from Red Mountain, which had great trails. Every afternoon the team was able to enjoy outdoor activities on Lake Allatoona, or in downtown Atlanta, which was only a 30 - 45 minute drive. The pool was also perfect to give our runners a different type of exercise. This place was exactly what we were looking for.

A great spot for a retreat!

Our youth group stayed here for a few days of retreat while working with a local church, and we had a great time! Swimming in the lake and the pool, cooking out, and some space for group discussion and meetings. I am hopeful we will get to use the space again soon!

Good Times!

The property was clean and the perfect size for 10+ adults. The lake is extremely close and the pool is right around the corner and was very well maintained too. Dawn was a great host that was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. Would definitely return.

Awesome venue for Family Reunion

We did a small family reunion with a full house. All six bedrooms were full. We celebrated a big birthday for my husband and had additional guests come up on Saturday. It was the perfect venue. The pool, access to the lake, kayaks to rent (we brought our own kayaks and paddle boards) lots of trails to walk or run & a big outdoor space to play group games gave everyone something to do The Bartow County Parks Dept manages the property. They were informative and easy to work with. We brought 2 extra folding tables and camp chairs because our group was larger. Everyone enjoyed the front porch and the fire pit. Lots of seating for both. It was like having our own family camp. There were other groups using the property that day, but management communicated with everyone who else was using public spaces and it worked well. It’s not far from Red Top Mountain, so a few extra folks stayed at the campground to be closer. No complaints on beds either. Highly recommend!

A nice place for a group.

We enjoyed our stay at the eagles nest. Nice and spacious place that is well equipped. We found the beds to be uncomfortable, and the place was clean-ish. Many light bulbs are burned out and the smoke detectors don’t have batteries in them. These are all things easily remedied and I’d stay here again.

Cabin simple living

It’s not a plush place. It had beds they were clean. It had a coffee maker. It had a microwave they had a fridge raider that had a small couch and a few chairs that surrounded a TV. There’s a bench as well but it’s broken and old. Everything was clean the showers worked for a place it’s in the wilderness like this I didn’t see really any insects so that was nice. The cabin itself is basic roughing it man living I would not bring my wife to stay there. It reminds me of an army barracks . But it had all the essentials. Everything was clean. They had a washing machine in the dryer. And all the amenities I would need to live for a week and go to Coach Baseball with my fellow coaches. Way better than a hotel.

Perfect for our church Girls’s Camp

We had a wonderful time! This camp had everything we needed to accommodate our small girl’s church camp. The lake & swimming pool were awesome and the A/C worked great during the heat wave!

Eagles Nest

The location and accommodations were great. Property mgt responded quickly to questions and issues. This is an older property so some of the bed mattresses need to be replaced. Wonderful place to enjoy the lake. We will be back.

Family Thanks-Mas Celebration

We really enjoyed our second year at the Eagles Nest. Our family meets here for some merry-making, gift exchange, fire pit and low country boil. The cottage did not disappoint. There was room for everyone. The large kitchen made cooking and clean up a breeze and the large family table had room for us all. The weather cooperated, and everyone had a fantastic time. The open field next to the cottage made for a great game location and walking down to the lake was an adventure as well. Thank you again for a wonderful time.

Amazing for Family Gathering

Outstanding Property, plenty of room for kids to run and play. Kitchen was amazing, allowed for cooking large Thanksgiving meal! Rooms were beautiful! We cant wait to rebook.

Perfect Lakeside Getaway

We can't say enough about how beautiful and peaceful the Pine Acres Retreat area was. We were looking for a fun, outdoorsy place to stay for a family/friends group of 10 people, and the Eagles Nest cabin at Pine Acres was perfect. It was clean and exactly as described on the site. The grounds were well maintained and fun to explore. We felt safe as the property is gated and well managed. The views were amazing and we enjoyed being disconnected from the internet in order to spend more quality time with family and friends. We would definitely recommend Pine Acres Retreat for all who want quality family time with comfortable accommodations and lots of outdoor activities. The hosts were very responsive and personable. We will definitely go again!

Walker Wedding

We had our wedding and reception here. The space and property were exactly what we were looking for. Both our wedding and reception were beautiful. The wedding was held by the lake and the reception was on Laurel Hall. All of our family and friends were very impressed with everything and has talked about using this space themselves. The staff was superb...everyone was friendly and helpful.

Will Stay again!

This property was PERFECT for the coaches retreat for our staff and allowed us to have a family day all together on Saturday. The cabin was just as described and the property could not have been better!

Great week!

We rented this property for a baseball trip with another family. House was clean and spacious. Host was friendly and available. It was like having a private lake and pool. Deer everywhere. Something to do for all ages. Had such a great week!

A wonderful respite from realty

We had to get EVERYONE (including our pups) out of the house for the weekend for a showing. After touching base with the managers they let us know we were good to go even with extra pups. Easy process. Our boys enjoyed the lake and caught some fish. We also got to enjoy a nice campfire and the exceptional lodging. Clean and friendly. Very helpful and friendly 😊😂☺️🙂😌😘

Eagle's nest Cabins are located at a facility called Pine Acres Retreat on 250+ acres owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and leased to Bartow County, Georgia Government. It is managed by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau by agreement with Bartow County. Pine Acres Retreat was a Girl Scout camp until 2016. The Atlanta Girl Scout Council transferred their lease from the Corps of Engineers to Bartow County in 2018.

This is a natural retreat located minutes from I-75 and metro Atlanta. It offers the amenities we're accustomed to in a serene environment many of us never experience. This is a gated property with a resident manager on site. All of this property is edged by Allatoona Lake, with the large pool and opportunity for kayaking/canoeing, your days will be filled with outdoor enjoyment. Sitting in the shade, or around a fire pit at night, lighting bug catching, or making smores, this is a relaxation retreat we offer for you to enjoy. The pet limitation for this cabin is two.
