A pretty home in the popular coastal section of Santa Barbara's Mesa.

A pretty home, nicely updated. You'll have fast fiber optic internet and free off street parking. Three furnished bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with a workspace and one double XL bed. The living area is an open concept and includes several dining options including a dinette, bar area, as well as alfresco accommodations on a lovely covered patio.

Located in the California Coastal Zone, the "Mesa" has become one of Santa Barbara's most desirable neighborhoods with it's own collection of shopping basics as well as a nice variety of restaurants and cuisines. Close to ocean bluffs, beaches and parks with miles of quiet neighborhood streets for walks or bicycle rides. The harbor, pier, funk zone, City College, and downtown are close by, UCSB and the airport are 10 - 15 minutes.

The house is 1950s simple 2 X 4 construction. Please treat it gently, with care and respect. A city noise ordinance from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am must be respected.
Attached ADU is separated by two doors with no shared walls. It is sometimes occupied by owner or caretaker. There is no impact on your privacy weather it is occupied or not.

We enjoyed walking to the Douglas Family Preserve, with beautiful views. The back yard is incredible and beautifully maintained and Frank was a perfect host!

Great location near Douglas preserve and Hendry’s beach. Beautiful yard. Nice remodeling of the original house with quiet dishwasher washer/dryer away from bedrooms. Neighborhood is quiet and dark at night and nice to see stars. We encountered a couple minor issues and owner was super responsive to fix them and friendly. His sub-unit was reasonably isolated from the main house.

Amazing stay

We had an amazing stay here. The house is beautiful. Perfect for four adults and a dog. Well stocked with everything we needed. The backyard is incredible. We loved walking through the nature preserve that is very close by. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location

House is well kept, Owner was easy to communicate with. Great location 15 min away from all the hot spots. Right next to a nature preserve and beach, great for dog lovers because both locations are off leash.

Beautiful home

We had a wonderful stay, the house was fully equipped with everything we needed. Walking distance to beaches, and a beautiful well maintained, relaxing fully fenced and private backyard for our family and dogs :). Property manager was very responsive, friendly and helpful to all questions and needs. Can't wait for our next visit.

Beautiful home with a lovely backyard.

The property was wonderful. It was spacious and quiet and our pup had the best time playing and exploring in the big backyard. Frank was super friendly and gracious. We really enjoyed the place and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful home and location

Well-equipped comfortable house, large back yard and lawn (perfect for dogs), friendly and helpful host. Quiet residential area close to preserve and off-leash dog area. Highly recommended.

Peaceful 5 night stay on the mesa

My wife, our two dogs, and I all really enjoyed our stay in Frank's home and neighborhood with its proximity to the ocean. Very clean and comfortable, excellent communication, would definitely recommend.

Beautiful property. Wonderful host!

My friends and I stayed here while seeing a show at the Santa Barbara Bowl. The location is perfect, the house is beautiful and the host couldn’t have been kinder. He even gave us a ride to the concert! Thank you Frank!

Wonderful stay at this home and location. Beautifully maintained and clean. Owner allowed us to check out late as our moving van was unexpectedly cancelled and we had to improvise to get our daughter moved out and home. I would highly recommend this place!!

Just as advertised

The house was perfect for our stay and was just as advertised. Clean, updated and in a great location. Close to State st, about a 10 min drive. The neighborhood was very quite. The drive to the beach was less than 5 min. Overall a great place to stay! And Frank the owner was so nice and answered all questions we had.

Stay Review

Clean house upon arrival, big backyard. However be aware people live on the property (garage) directly connected to the house, which makes it a bit uncomfortable due to the lack of privacy. If you are planning a FUN family getaway by the beach this home is not ideal, the lack of privacy really affected our stay.

This guest actually inquired about my property a little earlier in the year. She asked if she could have several families stay at my house. I thanked her for her interest but told her that would be way too many people, but to keep me in mind if she had a smaller group in the future. Stephanie decided to lie and book my property for FOUR adults and then just sneak two car loads of people in my house. Several other house rules were broken as well. They were making music past the 9:00 pm noise ordinance, arriving home past midnight slamming car doors and setting car alarms. As stated in the property listing, I do occasionally stay in the attached ADU. It is completely separate and private, and my previous guests have been delighted with all aspects of my house including complete privacy. But when I noticed car loads of people entering my house, I let it be known I was there. I find it especially disappointing that Stephanie would give me a low rating when she was blatantly lying and cheating. I suppose she's upset she got caught. I'm fairly new at hosting my home on short term rental platforms, but take emence pride in providing an immaculate environment in a wonderful part of this beautiful city. Every single prior review has been steller. I would be sorry for any host to be subjected the dishonest behavior and unjust reaction of the party of Stephanie Hernandez.

Lovely little house in Santa Barbara

We rented this dog-friendly house for a beach stay in Santa Barbara. We met the owner Frank when we arrived, and he was so nice and helpful. The 1950's-style house was just as described. The home was immaculate, nicely upgraded, and the grounds were lovely. The backyard and patio were large and well-taken care of, and we spent several mornings and afternoons enjoying the yard. The home was in a nice, quiet neighborhood just a five-minute walk to the off-leash Douglas Family Preserve. Walk another 15 minutes, and you arrive at Hendrys Beach, which is also off-leash for dogs. At Hendrys Beach you can walk for miles along the shoreline, and all of the dogs were friendly and well-behaved. Heaven for dogs and people! Downtown was a short drive away. We greatly enjoyed our stay here, and would absolutely recommend it!

Best VRBO on the Mesa in SB

We have stayed in many VRBOs but this was the best. It felt like a comfortable home – not a rental unit. The house was well stocked, in a quiet neighborhood, exceptionally clean, and the BBQ was spotless. The location was perfect with an easy walk to the Douglas Family Preserve that sits 100 feet above the ocean with panoramic views. Quick ride or walk to the beach. Morning walks on the beach were one of our favorite activities. We highly recommend this house. We stayed in another rental unit in the Mesa last year. This house was by far the better choice. Our two small dogs loved the fenced backyard. The property feels much bigger than the stated 1,000 square feet. Also, the owner was great to work with. He was very responsive to our questions and requests. We look forward to staying at the house again.
