The cottage has a quality interior and is well maintained. It is actually only a few feet from the water and there is a beautiful view of the lake from inside. The host and neighbor/owner are very nice.
But the cottage is only 10-15 feet off a busy road, there is another cottage right next door (separated by shrubs), and there is a lot of boat activity in front. This made it too noisy for my taste.
I also hoped for easy lake access and beautiful swimming. But there is a 1-2 foot drop to the water's edge from the grass, and the shoreline is protected by rocks. I have some mobility issues, so it was very risky for me to enter that way. There is a nice shared dock, but I cannot get in or out of the lake from a dock. I recommend building shallow steps with a rail from the grass to the water.
Despite the risk, I did get in the lake. The water is clean, the bottom a soft sand. It starts very shallow, but gets deep enough to not feel the bottom. But I did not enjoy swimming or working out due to weeds that grew almost to the surface. However, I spent hours floating and reading and enjoying a family of ducks swimming right up to me. There's also a pair of loons.
This would be a nice property for younger, more agile renters who intend to boat or waterski.
