Cozy Eagle River Lakeside Log Cabin on Sunset Lake


Enjoy sunsets from the spacious deck, screen porch, or lake side campfire. Firewood is provided. Our lot is private, serene and level.
This cabin is the cozy log cabin you’ve always dreamed of. Close to snowmobile and ATV/UTV trails also there are miles and miles of biking and walking trails throughout the area.
Whether you’re visiting in the spring, summer, fall, or winter, it’s truly a year-round retreat!
Nestled between Eagle River and St. Germain.
Relax, Revive, Repeat…..

Sunset Lake is a private lake. There aren’t any public boat landings on the lake. We do have kayaks, and a rowboat. A 8 hp boat motor or pontoon boat are available for rent if you wish.
We suggest that if you plan on bringing a boat, that you boat on the nearby public access lakes. The Eagle River chain is in close proximity to our cabin. We boat on the chain very frequently and would love to provide tips and point you to our favorite restaurants that are on the water.
Sunset Lake Retreat is newly remodeled! Brand new appliances and brand-new mattresses!
Autumn is amazing up here! Book now!

7-night stays from Friday to Friday only bookings during peak months from mid June through August.
Pets are $100 extra.
Boat motor rental is $250 per week
Pontoon boat rental $1100 per week $250 per day with 1 tank of gas.

Quiet hours are from 11:00 pm till 8:00 am. Town of Cloverland ordinance: No wake on lakes after 6:00 pm.

We do a cabin week every year and now we don't plan to ever go anywhere else! 1- I didn't know a cabin could be as clean Sunset Retreat was when we arrived! The space was perfect for 3 adults and 3 kids. The outdoor space is unbelievably! Warm lake water, sandy beach and it stays shallow for quite a ways! Can't wait for next year!

We had a great time at this cabin. They had all the amenities we needed. The high chair and baby gate for us traveling with kids was a plus. The location was private and beautiful and sunset lake is great for ice fishing. The only hiccup was having been given the wrong entry code so it took a little while before we could get in touch with the owners and get inside. But we would recommend this cabin and love to come back in the summer.

Very welcoming people and the pictures don’t do justice for this nice quiet and very comfortable cabin. I really can’t say enough other than what everyone else says as well. We were in town for a weekend event and coming back to this place was so nice. Thanks Bill and Cheryl for sharing your beautiful cabin with our family!

This place is great!! It has everything you might need. The hosts were helpful and had great communication. There were seven of us staying and everyone had plenty of room. The kitchen was stocked and we cooked a lot of great family meals. The gas stove was treat on the cold nights. Fishing was good and we can't wait to come back.

WOW, We have stayed at many homes and this one is at the top of all those. This is the first time the physical property exceeded our expectations. The pictures do not do it justice. The kitchen was FULLY stocked with quality things. We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice shredder so we could make homemade hash browns from potatoes at the farmer's market. We were able to cook PERFECT steaks from the Prime Choice Meat Mkt as the gas grill was clean and in perfect working order & again, we were surprised to find a meat thermometer!Our hosts went above and purchased a new pack-n-play for our 15 month old grandson so we didn't need to bring one. The fridge was nice and large with an ice maker that worked great for summer drinks.Outdoor spaces were all neat, clean with plenty of seating. The fire pit is the largest one I have ever seen. They provide firewood, kindling a Smores kit and nice long sticks for either Smores or hot dogs, etc.The hosts greeted us and made sure we were familiar with the house and all its features. They really want their guests to be comfortable - they thoughtfully labeled many of the light switches, a small, but thing but really makes the first day or so easier. Bill walked us through the boat. They have plenty of life preservers including one for our little one.They even thought about the dogs & had dishes, towels & a cushion for our fury one.We had a wonderful family week and hope to return in the future!

Our second time here and my family really enjoyed the cabin, the peaceful setting and lake. We loved the big deck overlooking the lake. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need and we cooked or barbecued most of our dinners. We kayaked around the lake a few times in the provided kayaks. Hosts are very helpful and responsive.

Owners Bill and Cheryl Hogenmiller are business owners in the Eagle River, Conover area. We’ve lived here our whole lives. Went to school here, we were married in 1989 and have 3 children. Mostly grown now.
We’ve owned Excel Cleaning and Restoration for 30 years. We hope you enjoy your stay at Sunset Lake Retreat. It’s time to relax, revive, repeat!
