Nicely appointed home with spacious bedrooms. The host, Jill, was very responsive. Great location for enjoying the area. The driveway is quite steep, but there is good parking.

This is a great location and very nice house. The property owner went out of her way to be communicative and make sure we had a good experience. We would stay there again.

We had such a great weekend. The house was wonderful and worked great for our family. Jill was very helpful with my questions and quick to respond!! Would recommend to anyone!!

Best of Both Worlds

We stayed here while we were in town for a wedding. I want to come back when we have more time. This was the perfect location. Very nice house with comfortable beds. We were in the woods (we even saw a bear cub) but were a short drive (at most 5 minutes) to restaurants, shops, gas station, grocery store. Best of both worlds.

Great Family Time

Being reared in Eastern Kentucky the location of this property brought a flood of memories. The house being built close to the slope of a mountain gave the perfect view of the up and down hillside. It gave us the excitment of trying to climb to the top only to come back down and enjoy the fire pit, toasted marshmellows and hot chocolate. Loved the layout of the house and the way it flowed from room to room. Looking forward to a return stay.

Beautiful home

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this lovely home. Our 8 and 9 year old granddaughters loved the loft with the bunk beds. We had lots of fun making s'mores using the firepit on the back deck. We took advantage of the fun playground, putt putt course, and indoor pool. Bingo at the community center was also a treat. Nearby Fairfield Lake was a delightful addition. The drive way is a little scary, but not surprising since this is definitely mountain terrain. Our only complaint is that the mattresses in the first and master bedrooms were very hard.

I have stayed in many VRBOs over the last 10 years and have never felt the need to leave a negative review until this stay. Unfortunately, this home did not meet the standards we expected.The biggest issue was the bug problem. There were large black ants throughout the home, not just a few, but hundreds during our stay. We woke up at night with ants crawling on us, and we all ended up with multiple ant bites. I reached out to the owner and, while she apologized, nothing was done to help fix the issue while we were there. I understand bugs can happen, but the lack of action was disappointing.The home itself felt very old, dingy, and not truly prepared as a guest rental. Even though it may have been cleaned, it never felt clean because so many things were worn and outdated. There were also many personal belongings left throughout the home, including opened food/condiments in the refrigerator and clothing in closets, making it feel like we were staying in someone’s personal home rather than a vacation rental. There were also no outdoor trash cans provided, so we had to keep trash bags piled in the garage all week (which smelled) and put loose bags outside for pickup, which felt unsafe in an area with active bears.The neighborhood and Sapphire area are beautiful, but I cannot recommend this particular property. There are many other homes in the area that are better maintained and set up to provide guests with a clean, comfortable, stress-free vacation.

The house was so dirty!!! The cleaners were disgusted. Stove top took 1.5 hours to clean. I have pics. Floors dirty, walls dirty, all linens were displaced. Ants came in because of food on floors etc. fire pit had half burnt logs in pine straw .. such a fire hazard. Garage had leaves, dirt displaced items.! N

Wonderful Stay in the Mountains

This is a nice property in a quiet neighborhood. The owner was very accommodating and sent us information several days before our arrival. We particularly enjoyed being able to sit out on the pouch and have breakfast among the trees. We would stay there again.

House was well equipped, near grocery store and restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at this Sapphire Valley home. The home was well equipped, with cookware and dishes. It was close to the Rec center, where we enjoyed the pool, spas, game room and mini golf. We had a few nice meals out, but for the most part, cooked at the house. The kids enjoyed the fire pit where we made s’mores. The beds and rooms were clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The driveway was ok for us, we did not bring a AWD vehicle, and did not have a problem. The grounds of the resort are nice, good playground, walking trails. Loved the streams running through it. Internet was not functional for us to work remotely, but not a problem-went to the Rec center and did some calls from there. The kids were unhappy about not having a good connection, but quickly adapted to doing other things. Thanks to the owner for the last minute reservation and good communication.

Wonderful Location

A group friends shared the house for a three-day get-together. They loved the location and happily made use of the passes that gave them access to swimming pools and a private lake, and several sports. They also enjoyed the proximity to shopping and restaurants, along with waterfalls and hiking trails.

Wonderful experience

The home is comfortable, extremely well stocked, very private, and less than a 5 minute ride from all the amenities offered at Sapphire Valley Resort. The owner, Jill, is delightful and responsive.
