The listing advertised luxury and top-end amenities that weren’t portrayed as accurately as our experience proved. The unit was safe, clean, and conveniently located, and the host communicated well. There was no fresh fruit or flowers offered as listed, which wasn’t an huge deal. Items within the unit and property at large, showed signs of age and disrepair. In the full kitchen, the knives were dangerously dull and most of the pots/pans were scratched or otherwise in poor condition. The blinds in the master bedroom didn’t work, making it impossible to block out early morning sunlight. The balcony did have an exceptional view, but noise and hot air coming off the air conditioning units made it less pleasant to sit out there than we had hoped. There were odd clunking noises coming from inside walls that kept us awake 2 nights and a brief false evacuation alarm that woke us at 2:00 am once. The property as a whole showed signs of crumbling concrete and lots of rust, with warning signs cautioning against falling concrete in public spaces. The parking garage had no elevator. It was a mediocre stay, which would have been fine if it had been advertised as “safe, clean, and good value” instead of high luxury.
