Hi Carla- It is unfortunate that pool and beach access Hurricane repairs were not fixed by February 18. We want to remind you of how the events took place as your review does not quite give all the details: You booked a two bedroom unit at Perennial Vacation Club at Daytona Beach Shores on November 18, 2022 for travel February 18-25, 2023. We secured the week through our owner and paid the owner for the week. We have a strict no cancellation/refund policy on our VRBO ad and you agreed to these terms when you booked the week. However, extenuating circumstances arose and we tried our very best to contact you to explain the situation. Here is the timeline of events as they are time stamped on all correspondence: We were informed by the owner/resort on January 16, 2023 about the fact that the pool and beach access would not yet be open and available for your week of travel. On that day, the resort was providing cancellations and refunds to all guests if they no longer wanted to travel. The deadline to accept a cancellation/refund was January 20, 2023 as outlined in the resort's letter to us. We immediately got in touch with you via email on January 16, 2023. This email came from the same email address in which we sent your resort confirmation to you on November 21, 2022. On January 17, when there was no response to that email, we called you and left a voicemail and also left a message on the VRBO dashboard stating we were trying to contact you about an important matter. We sent a second email to you as well. After several emails, a voicemail, and correspondence through the VRBO dashboard to you, we did not hear back from you until February 15, 2023. At that time, the window for the refund/cancellation had passed. You were going to discuss with the people you were traveling with and get back to us. On February 17, 2023, you asked if any compensation could be provided for the lack of amenities. We then contacted the owner/resort one more time to see if they would make an exception to their January 20 deadline or offer a refund of any kind. They provided two options: either a $150 refund, or cancel with a full refund. Yes, this was time sensitive because check-in was the next day, so we did need a decision quickly. It is very unfortunate that the pool and beach access for Perennial Vacation Club at Daytona Beach Shores were unable to be accessed due to Hurricane Ian. We hope you can understand our diligence in trying to contact you BEFORE the refund date passed and the fact that we went above and beyond once you did contact us on February 15, 2023. We did feel bad about the lack of amenities and did our very best to try and make things right with the reservation.
