Nestled in Nantucket’s historic district, this 5-bedroom, 3-bath home offers classic charm with modern comforts, just steps from the ferry and a 5-minute walk to the beach. Enjoy stunning harbor views, a private backyard with a fire pit, and a play area for kids. Inside, relax with a Sonos sound system, XBOX, and a fully stocked kitchen. This home is a charming blend of history and modern convenience, located on a cobblestone street in Nantucket’s revived cultural district. It was originally built in 1846, so it maintains a lot of its original charm, but with modern conveniences and luxury touches of today.

We had an amazing stay at 7 North Water Street! Everything about the house, property & location exceeded our expectations! The decor was fresh, white washed & stylish throughout the home. The kitchen was well equipped & bathrooms luxurious. We totally enjoyed using the fire pit in the backyard for before dinner drinks & appetizers, and the flowers in the garden were gorgeous! We loved the location...right in town, on a charming cobblestone street, but still super quiet for sleeping. The landlord & agent who checked us in could not have been more friendly, informative & accommodating. We would highly recommend this property...and seriously hope to come back one day!

Love nantucket

Great location in town! Clean and beautiful with a great private back yard with plenty of seating and grill and fire pit. Plenty of beach towels and games and toys. We loved it and would gladly return to same home!!

Amazing Property

Where do I begin? We were met at the ferry to help transport our luggage to the property. Robert met us to go over the specifics of the home and to answer any questions. The kitchen was well stocked for our stay, the beds were very comfortable, and the location was perfect. The home is centrally located in town, and we were able to walk to restaurants and shopping. We had a wonderful weekend during Daffodil Festival. I would highly recommend staying at this lovely home!

Wedding Weekend

We rented this property for my son's wedding. All the wedding activities were within walking distance and the location couldn't have been better. We stayed with our two older sons and their families. They were able to go back to check on the children during the events and not miss much of the activity. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to booking it in the future!

A Perfect 10!

This property was a perfect 10! The location is unbeatable. The home is breathtaking. The outdoor patio is a little slice of heaven. You will not find a better rental on Nantucket. This house had everything and more to make our time on Nantucket simply exceptional! And an added bonus: the homeowner and property manager were kind, communicative and unbelievably helpful. Our overall experience was a perfect 10!

Literally Downtown!

This house was fantastic! The pictures online are great, but when you arrive, the homey vibe of the place is indescribable. It was clean, designed beautifully with high quality furniture, accents, and the linens were extremely comfortable. The beds were great, there was enough pans and kitchen essentials for the stay, and the location is the best part! To stay in downtown Nantucket would’ve cost so much more compared to renting a home with the number of people we had: two couples with two kids each. The house is around the corner from the Sunken Ship and Whaling Museum. It is prime real estate. The President was in town so we walked out our door and 12 steps later, were in the middle of the fun, bustling downtown. I loved the house, the driveway was such a bonus and the enormous laundry room with beautiful bikes and 2 washing machines and 2 dryers was just so ideal. The caretaker connected with me, the owner connected with me and the house is equipped with so much that I didn’t even have to contact them during my stay. I cannot say enough how the location of this house made our stay along with the quality of rental. Even the kids felt safe walking downtown alone because the house is so close. Worth every penny! I actually want to buy the house haha!!

House was amazing and very close to town..

Great hosts and beautiful property. The back yard was such an added benefit. Gorgeous landscaping and a great place to enjoy the fabulous weather. Highly recommend!!

Very clean and comfortable house

We had the unfortunate experience of fickle Memorial Day weather and we in the house for most of 2 days. Fortunately, we had everything we needed at the house from streaming TVs, sonos, privacy and comfortable beds for napping and reading. Check in and out was seamless. Would highly recommend the property. Only complaint was noise from drunk people walking home late night if you were in one of the front rooms. But that is the trade off for staying so close to town.

Great Nantucket Location and House

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful updated home right in the center of Nantucket, where you can walk everywhere. The house was spotless, with a super charming and cute decor and layout. It had everything you might need, and the host Dana and his property manager Robert were very helpful and accommodating. We visited during April school break, the weather was great, and Nantucket was not crowded. Plenty of restaurants were open for take out during this COVID time, and we ate outside in the lovely backyard. We had a wonderful time, and can't recommend it highly enough!

Best Rental in Nantucket

We have been renting in Nantucket for 5 years and this is our new favorite house. Location - 30 second walk to town. Children’s beach - 3min walk. Perfect for our family with young kids. Inside was very comfortable. The bonus was the amenities- tons of beach towels, chairs and toys. Back yard - awesome. Overall, we look forward to renting this house for many years to come.

Great Spot, Best Location, Great Backyard

Spent Labor Day Weekend '17 in this home with my two sons had a wonderful time. Real nice renovations. Close to everything in town, restaurants, museum, childrens beach etc. We fished the lighthouse area and caught seabass which we grilled at the house, cant beat that. bikes, laundry all great. would definitely return here!

Where Lifelong Memories Are Created

My family and I have always stayed in vacation rentals. The space and privacy has allowed us to enjoy many big family gatherings and vacations with our closest friends over the years, creating lifelong memories together.

It’s those happy memories that persuaded us to purchase this amazing historic property in Nantucket. Formerly a bed and breakfast, the property was built in 1846 so it has an enthralling history and story of its own. We have converted it into a single family residential rental property where our own family can spend quality time, creating more of those lifelong memories. But this isn’t just a vacation home for our family and friends, We want to share it with you too.

When booking our own stays in vacation rentals we've always valued a prime location and excellent amenities. And those were the key elements we looked for when purchasing and converting this Nantucket home, formerly The Scallop Inn. The home and location provide everything necessary to keep a large family comfortable and enable them to spend quality time together without having to worry about a thing.

Nantucket was always our special vacation spot since we started dating. We have always wished and hoped to eventually buy a home on island to create lifelong family memories with our kids. Our dream came true when the Old Scallop Inn came for sale. We knew we needed a home that could sleep many people for friends, family and kids. We had rented and stayed in many homes all over the island and decided that being in town was just different. Being able to walk to everything with young kids was amazing. My kids walk to the juice bar and different ice cream shops. We eat at the best restaurants in town or cook in our home or grill in backyard. We have the best of both worlds. My kids walk to children's beach and play wiffle ball with other kids in town. It just has an amazing location
