We are a group of two families with kids that have vacationed together Up North for the last 18 years with most of those years being in Eagle River. My son's fiancee has a vacation home in Three Lakes and he convinced us to give Three Lakes a try. The home is on a very lovely, private piece of property and definitely would accommodate the 14 as listed. We cook all of our meals so a well appointed kitchen is a must for us. This was the best kitchen we have had in 18 years. No need to bring anything-if you need it, they will have it. The front porch is a fantastic place to start the day and there are two firepits with lots of wood. We always bring a bin of board games to play, but you don't need to because all of the classics are there. We even gathered on a rainy day and watched Mrs. Doubtfire on VHS. There is a wonderful library to choose a book for the week and the full bathrooms are a plus with a bigger group. There are 2 piers, but one was difficult to have a boat at. The other one worked well and it has permanent boat fenders which is nice. It is located on a channel and it is not a "slow no wake zone" so it was pretty busy and wavy over the 4th, but the rest of the week was better. It is the perfect combination of old Northwoods charm and modern amenities. Speaking of which, there is a very large office space downstairs that quite a fee people utilized because we had a few "kids" that were in a college summer class. And there is a bonus extra fridge in the basement which is nice to have for extra food and ice so we can keep grocery shopping to a minimum. It's nice to have a washer and dryer and we never really missed having A/C because it cools down at night and there are plenty of fans provided.
