What do you want from your holiday home? How about this positively dreamy central location, with the best bars, restaurants and shops that Morzine has to offer, literally on the doorstep, and the main lift, the Super Morzine, a hop, skip and a jump away — OK, two-minutes walk if you’re feeling conventional.

That means that while everyone else is still on the ski bus heading back to their accommodation, you can be relaxing in one of Morzine’s best bars and restaurants, enjoying a vin chaud, or a beer, having already popped back to your apartment to stash your skis and leave your boots on the dryers.

If you want to make a night of it, and linger over fondue or steak in one of the restaurants, feel free, but if you fancy picking up some local cheese and charcuterie, as well as some bottles of the excellent Haute Savoie wine, you’ve not got far to carry it home.

Once back in the apartment, the fully-equipped kitchen will make light work of any food prep — and the clearing up too — thanks to a huge hob, double oven, microwave and dishwasher. The result? More time for you to take a drink onto the wraparound balcony and watch the sun set, or simply to curl up in front of the real log fire, with a Nespresso coffee, and some music on the Bluetooth speaker, or a Netflix film on the HDTV.

The three comfortable, en suite bedrooms — two with their own private balcony — have ample storage — although there’s a washing machine and tumble dryer if you prefer to pack light. Two can be configured as king-sized beds or twins, according to what suits your group best and the other is a fixed king size double. In addition, excellent glazing means that, even though you’re right in the centre of town, you won’t be disturbed by late night revellers.
