This gorgeous corner unit has panoramic views from an expansive balcony facing the Gulf of Mexico. The living room has a nice West Indies flair with a rattan sofa and chair, a recliner, nicely tiled floors, and an upscale glass and iron dining table for six with pineapple backed chairs. The fully equipped kitchen has crisp white cabinetry and upgraded black and white appliances. The primary bedroom has a magnificent dark wood sleigh bed, a TV, a DVD player, and tiled floors. The guest bedroom features a queen bed, nice dark wood furniture, a TV, and a DVD player. The third bedroom offers two wicker twin beds, a TV, and a DVD player. You will enjoy the separate bar area and the full-size washer and dryer in this fine unit.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). We loved this place. Right on the beach so if it is too hot we could sit in the living room and still look out at the waves. The balcony was great for meals and chatting. Parking is in the shade! I definitely want to return here.

Great place with great views

While there are a couple of places for improvement (moldy shower curtain, old stove with burner needing to be replaced), the comfortable rooms, and expansive views of the ocean made up for it. The beds were comfy, rooms were spacious, and the wrap around porch with four different access points made our trip amazing. The access to the beach was directly downstairs and the pool area was nice though did tend to get crowded in the afternoon.

The property needs updating badly. There was mold on the shower curtain and a very musty smell when we walked in. It just didn’t have a clean feel at all.

Beautiful View…

This condo has 5 star balcony and view of the gulf! That said, the unit itself is 3 star…dated with old furnishings. If you don’t care about that, the unit is fine. Bedrooms are comfortable. Kitchen is marginal with limited and old kitchen ware to accommodate a three bedroom condo. Nice frig and W&D. We have stayed at Mainsail multiple times…had a great time!

It was ok, I would not stay there again. The view of the ocean was great. The slide doors going out to the balcony were hard to open and close. The bathrooms were in poor condition. The bathrooms felt dirty. There were leaks in the bathrooms.

Needs a nice coat of paint and new drapery! I don’t understand a VRBO fee and and booking fee from Vacasa. The view, although is amazing!! We always love the end units.

Not recommending this unit

Without long time due major renovations, this unit doesn’t get any good feedback from us at this time. It does have a front ocean view and some new appliances, but this is not sufficient for this price. We come to this location for many years and know very well what the complex can offer, but this unit doesn’t come close.

It was very disappointing this time. Unit was not well maintained. Needed painting. Drapes were all partially hanging. No ice maker! 2 stove eyes out. Umbrella police ran us off from unoccupied chairs & umbrellas. No welcome packet from Vacasa with new rules & no phone numbers to reach maintenance or on-site office. Been going to Mainsail for almost 30 years. Don't know that I'll go back after this visit.

This room had amazing views and overall was an ok place to stay. Most furniture needs replaced. Master bedroom king bed sags in the middle. Master bathroom tub is gross. One of the sliding doors onto the balcony has condensation or something between glass panes and makes it so you can’t see anything out that door. Dishwasher had standing water in it when we arrived that smelled like it had been there for a long time—very foul smelling. We ran the dishwasher twice with no dishes and it still smells. Ended up washing all dishes by hand. Kitchen has very few utensils and would be difficult to make a meal. Overall, the place had nice floors and had good size rooms and was adequate for our family. The Mainsail resort was nice and clean and well maintained.

The experience with Resort Quest/ VBRO was great - but the owner needs to update and repair drastically! Beds are horrible, cabinets broken and extremely dated, refrigerator doesn’t cool properly, light bulbs need replacing, ceilings need repair in bathroom shower area. There are no pot holders and very few bowl and no containers to store food in. Master tub is terrible to get in and out of shower especially for older people. This is too much money to pay for this standard of condo. We’ve been staying at mainsail for 20 plus years and this is the worst condo we have ever stayed in. My opinion is VRBO or Resort Quest I wouldn’t even book it until these things are addressed.

More than the view

Our family has been vacationing in Destin for more than 25 years.This was one of several times that we have stayed at Mainsail. While the view from the wraparound deck was one to die for other aspects of the dwelling fell short. There were only two chairs on the deck and one of those was cracked making it dangerous to sit on. The Jacuzzi tub off the master suite was inoperable and so was the fan in that room. We called to report these and other things with no response until we we leaving the unit. But alas, it truly is a place with a view!

Wonderful stay.

Absolutely loved the view was outdated but the stay was great! Did have a bad experience with the people who sets up the chairs and umbrellas calling my brother a list for where he was staying. He couldn't remember the exact number but gave him my husbands name and the guy still called him a liar!

First of all, the location and the view of the condo are absolutely wonderful! Couldn’t be any better! However, the reviews are totally accurate, the condo is very outdated and leaves a lot to be desired! Beds are hard, furnishings are outdated and the rental company definitely missed several items before check in (burnt out light bulbs, hair in shower, broken concrete on balcony laying in places, etc…) This condo could be fabulous but it’s obvious the owners / rental company don’t put much effort in.

Beautiful view

The location of the unit was awesome and it had a breathtaking view of the gulf. Some things to know - if you have an issue they probably won't take care of it while you are there - everything is blamed on Covid. I had a minor issue with the dishwasher missing parts (utensil basket) which actually turned into - the dishwasher didn't work. The spraying arms didn't turn so all the dishes were left dirty after a cycle. That also left a lot of dishes dirty in the cupboard and drawers because they didn't check them when they put them away. I called that problem in and they never responded back. I know they didn't even come to look at it because I left them a note with other minor things that never got addressed. To be fair, they did come the first time to fix the internet, but they didn't come to see what was wrong or acknowledge the bigger problem. Normally when I've rented places in the past they come stocked with enough dish soap and garbage bags to last at least a week. Nope - not this place. It was pretty bare. There wasn't even a frying pan big enough to cook for a family of 3 (one tiny 8 inch skillet). Normally, there's coffee and at least salt and pepper - nope. Our friends staying in the same Main Sail complex had all the amenities you could ask for and then some. If we knew in advance, we maybe could have come better prepared. I was also not expecting to be on the 6th floor with a number like 261. I don't really like heights. We were supposed to be on the first floor of another unit which got cancelled on us due to construction. Speaking of construction - we knew that it was going on in one of the buildings because of our cancellation. That is probably something to let people know ahead of time. Thankfully, it didn't cause an issue. The beds were comfortable and overall things were definitely acceptable. The unit needs a little TLC, but the view made it definitely worth while. So, I would say the biggest downfall is not being attentive to your customer. A lot of things can be overlooked if you feel that they are at least trying.
