Escape to The Captain`s House, a historic 1818 waterfront retreat on the Mystic River. This beautifully restored 3-bedroom home blends nautical history with modern luxury, offering stunning river views and a furnished patio with a BBQ. Pet friendly and ideal for families and groups of up to 7.

The Space:
Welcome to The Captain’s House, a historic 1818 waterfront home originally built by Captain George Wolfe. This beautifully restored retreat on the scenic Mystic River blends rich nautical history with modern luxury, offering stunning views of the river and the Historic Drawbridge.

Inside, you`ll find bright, inviting spaces filled with elegant coastal décor and original wood details. The home is equipped with central air conditioning for your comfort.

* A formal dining room adjacent to a large fireplace.

Access:
Guests will enjoy complete and private access to the entire main house with a convenient and easy self check-in process. Your private retreat includes:

* Full use of all three bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
* The open-concept living and dining areas.
* A fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals.
* An in-unit washer and dryer for your convenience.
* A furnished patio with a BBQ grill and outdoor dining, offering direct waterfront views.
* Use of a kayak to explore the Mystic River.
* Private, off-street parking for up to three vehicles.

Details to Note:
To ensure a comfortable and transparent stay, please note the following important details:

* The property grounds are shared with the attached School House Cottage, which has its own separate entrance and may be occupied by other guests.
* You will have your own dedicated section of the backyard and a private BBQ area, thoughtfully arranged for your privacy.
* The yard is not fully fenced, which is important for guests with pets to be aware of.
* For your safety and security, exterior security cameras are installed and actively monitor outdoor areas only. There are no cameras inside the property.
The most important House Rule is, respect our neighbors and community. Mystic is a quaint, coastal New England town. As hosts, and guests, we share in the responsibility of keeping Mystic a great place to visit, and to LIVE. Honor the noise ordinance. The property was clean and meticulously maintained. When it snowed, the service was there to shovel before we got out of bed. It's a quirky house, thanks to the age, but it's so cozy. And you cannot beat the location. We enjoyed it so much!

We had a wonderful stay and the location was perfect! This was our first time in Mystic, CT and we will definitely be back. The walk to the shops area was less than 3 minutes. The Captain's House is charming and has a lot of history.Our arrival instructions were spot on and very easy. Gerard is a wonderful host and very responsive to all our needs. The house has all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay!

Incredible in every way. Ideal location, beautiful view and the perfect combination of historic charm and modern convenience. Gerard was available though we never needed a thing. The early check-in and late check-out gave us lots of time for strolling the waterfront and shops. We absolutely hope to be back!

A wonderful repeat stay!

We love staying here and have already booked it for next year. We are a five minute walk to restaurants and ice cream … critical when the temperature was in the 90’s! Two Nights Not Enough!

I wish I could have stayed longer. Just in town for business and found this charming and comfortable seaside home. Everything I needed and just a short walk to restaurants and shopping. Lovely first floor queen bedroom with attached full bath. This is a water view, historic home with New England charm. I hope to return some day!

Perfect Mystic location

This is my third day at this property, and as always am delighted with my stay. Gerard was in constant communication and had answers to all my questions and needs, although they were few as everything was so well explained upon check-in. This property is impeccably maintained, Beautifully decorated, and has every modern convenience you would need for your stay in beautiful Mystic.You have beautiful views of the water, and almost everything is within walking distance.I look forward to my next visit

Amazing!!

First, what a great location to everything. But most importantly what a great house! Came here for my bestie's 40th and she absolutely loves old houses. The house alone made her birthday. Gem right in the heart of downtown Mystic

This house is absolutely perfect for your stay in Mystic! Steps from all the shops and restaurants and the decor fits this little seaport town perfectly. Owners were so nice and communication was top notch! Very clean and all amenities included!! Highly recommended and hope to stay again soon!

INCREDIBLE as usual

This is the third time we have stayed here and it continues to be the best place to stay in Mystic. Its location to all the shops as well as the attractions is perfect. The view right on the water is nice and relaxing and just what a family needs to recharge from the craziness of life!! Gerard could not have been any more perfect. Wonderful getaway

Loved this sweet cozy house in the middle of town! Couldn’t ask for a better location, just steps from the village! Beautiful well appointed house with absolutely everything you need to be comfortable. Wonderful host and communication. Would definitely come back for a longer stay!

Perfect Location

Not only perfect location, but perfect in every way. Second time at this location, but once again it checks all the boxes. Gerard was always available for questions, not that we had many as the house was fully equipped to suit all our needs and instruction manual was precise. Large rooms ,pristine environment with beautiful kitchen, fully stocked . We were fortunate to have amazing weather so the beautiful outdoor seating area provided many afternoons enjoying the sunshine and views of the water. The close proximity to most shops and restaurants left us doing little driving. Looking forward to our return visit

Great location and sneaky good for little ones.

We had a great stay and was helpful with early check in for naps after mystic aquarium. Had air mattress and darkening windows in upstairs room. Also found high chair, gates for the room / stairs, lots of books and even some paw patrol toys. Walking distance to shops and playground across bridge and great view when it goes up and down. Had short stay but definitely plan to visit again.

Best location in Mystic & beautifully charming house

The Captains House is such a perfect location - beautiful water views and walking distance to everything! The house is very clean and very well maintained. The kayaks and bikes are a great amenity as well, although unfortunately it was raining during our stay so we didn’t use them. We would love to stay again!

Homesick for a Place You've Never Been

The Captain George Wolfe House in Mystic, CT, is the kind of vacation rental that will make you homesick for a place you’ve never been. My wife Linda and I lived across the river for 17 years. Our recent stay gave us one more chance to explore the old grooves of our lives with friends and family. The George Wolfe house is the perfect place for that. Only a block from Main Street shops, restaurants and the historic Mystic bridge. Its own history does not extend to the plumbing. The home has been lovingly restored. All the appliances are modern. Central air. Comfortable rooms. Take it from me. I’ve been in more hotel rooms than the Gideon Bible. This place is extraordinary.

Magical Mystic in June

This site is the perfect focal point to explore Mystic. The house is a five-minute walk from the drawbridge. The main street has numerous options for dining and great ice cream. The house has everything that you need for a comfortable stay ... a well-appointed kitchen, television in the living room and each bedroom (so we can each watch what we want), soaps for the bathroom. And Gerard is a master host, even checking in during the stay to make sure everything is running smoothly!
