The home is situated in a lovely bay.
the home is big enough to accommodate 6 people.
We choose this home as it allows dogs, is close enough to chch for us to drive into work, and we can kayak and paddle board on the bay.
The home was surface cleaned when we arrived.
I deep cleaned when we left.
The bunk beds are not comfy, the mattresses are thin and old, the bunks are very wobbly and squeak when ever someone moves, the single bed in that room is comfy.
the master room bed is very comfy.
the upstairs double bed is comfy enough.
the home is pretty well fenced enough to keep a large dog in, we did have too block up part of the fence when the neighbors arrived with small dogs who could get through.
the kitchen is equipped well.
The lack of water caught us off guard, having to not flush if its yellow, reminded us of EQ times. No washing machine was a pain as we stayed for such a long time.
The owner did call me multiple times while we were there but as I had no reception I didnt realize until the end of our stay and listened to his long voicemails then recieved long texts as he had accidentally double booked the home for just one night. I felt very sorry for the couple who had booked from the 2nd as we weren't out until the 3rd. They were a lovely couple and told the owner they would like a refund, the owner wasnt calm or reasonable. We stayed until the 3rd, the owner did ask us to vacate on the 2nd then asked us to vacate at 10am on the 3rd but the vacate time is 12, I politely declined as we had plans and to pack and clean.
the home may sleep 6 but I had to pay an extra $35 per night for the 6th person.
The owner will call and text alot but this didnt bother me to much until he randomly walked in through the gate on our second to last day at the home.
I would only book your stay through book a Bach. I booked the 1st week through book a Bach then emailed saying I wanted a 2nd week, I ended up emailing the owner, he told me it was cheaper to go through him. he made the process very confusing as he would call often and ask if I still wanted the 2nd week, I would say email me the invoice. I never received the invoice just an email in mid December right before our stay, with all these figures, it was very frustrating especially when the price went up.
I will not be staying there again.
Overall this home is adequate for short stays.
