The property was well appointed with incidentals like spices, coffee, filters, Q-tips, etc. loved the fresh flowers and fruit too!!! My only issue with the property was carpenter bees and no mention of four stray cats that basically lived out on the porch, sitting on the chairs and tables, making us sometimes feel like we were invading their space.

Great for a family

This place is conveniently close to the national parks. Comfortable and quaint. A nice place to come back to after a day in the park. (Make sure you bring your own food; there are no restaurants nearby.) This cabin is more for families, not two couples since both bedrooms are connected to each other. Would highly recommend for families wanting a comfortable place to stay near Kings Canyon.

Close to Kings Canyon

Cabin is close to Kings Canyon. Make sure to bring food because there are no grocery stores within 30 minutes. Cabin was clean. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen to cook your own meals. Lovely porch area for relaxing. Saw lots of wildlife. Remote and quiet.

Cute little cabin. It was very clean and had everything we needed. There were games, darts, foosball for kids and adults. As mentioned in the description, the shower is small. My 6"4 husband struggled, but managed. We would definitely stay again.

Comfortable stay close to Sequoia and Kings Canyon

Comfortable stay for our family of four, gracious host welcomed us and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. It is a short 25 mins from Grant Grove and Sequoia is not too far either about an hour away. The place was cozy and well provisioned. Enjoyed our stay.

Great little cabin no far from Sequoia National Park

Cabin was great. 30 mins to the park to see the great sequoias. 5 mins from food. Recommended!

Peaceful mountain getaway

Super adorable cabin with vintage touches, porch with awesome BBQ and view of nature. Nearby farm has sweet sounds of farm animals and the pond below is home to bullfrogs. Peaceful, quiet neighborhood, we loved our stay at the Kings canyon rustic cabin and our host was very friendly.

Beautiful

The property is very close to the north gate of the park about 20 minutes the area around the cabin is beautiful. The cabin is rustic but nice has everything you need and the keep extra stuff in case you forgot anything the host is very nice and checked several times to see if we needed anything we would most differently say here again

Great Cabin and Perfect Location.

This is the best place we have been till date around Sequoia and we loved it. The host was wonderful and the cabin has everything that you need and more. The host was kind enough to keep some food as a backup as places close early around. They checked-in with us incase we need anything throughout the stay. All EV car people, yes there is a 110 outlet outside if you need provided you have the adapters. We would definitely come back here as this feels like our perfect vacation home around that side.

Family Vacation

Amazing rustic cabin nestled in the kings canyon, it is a dream! I took my family for the 4th of July to explore the giant sequoia trees in the nearby national parks. The cabin is cozy, very clean, and complete with WiFi and fresh flowers. It is equipt with all the essentials of a home. Make sure to take a screenshot of the WiFi password, key code, and prepare your phone to use maps offline before driving into the mountains towards the cabin as the roads will provide very little connectivity. The drive is worth it! The scenery and wild life are gorgeous! The hosts are wonderful and even provide a cute guest book to sign and leave a cute memory.

Central Location to Kings Canyon & Sequoia

Hubby and I had good stay. Good communication with Evolve and host instructions, clearly marked at driveway, good wifi and TVs. Great location about an hour drive to Sequioa and a little less to Kings Canyon entrance on winding roads. Less than 1 mile to Pinehurst Lodge bar which we ate at (and were the only patrons in joint) 2 nights for dinner after spending all day hiking in parks. Get groceries on way in (Dollar General 30min away had basic food staples). Nice back porch area to hang with great sunset views across way. Access one bedroom through the other which wasn't issue for me and hubby who actually slept in our own bed rather than trying to share a double. I thought the bed was comfortable. Experienced dog barking late at night/early morning but masked sound in back bedroom by the vornado fan provided-very powerful. Mostly friendly cats visited but be careful, protective tuxedo mamma bites. Reading prior reviews and having a rustic camping cabin of our own, we were ready for the 30x30 shower experience, yes its tight but worked and had hot water. Overall recommend this location and thought price was good/competitive to what else was in area to choose from when we booked.

Rustic dosnt mean dirty

The place is poorly maintained and very dirty. Old rotten carpet with insects and spider webs. Very limited and rusty sanitary facilities. We had to leave the same evening with our young children in order to find another option for the night. The host was not polite to us and we lost our vacation day on December 24 because of this bad accommodation. On top of all this the price was way too expensive and the refund procedure is very complex and we are still waiting.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- While the cabin is cleaned thoroughly before each stay, its location in the Sequoia National Forest can occasionally lead to some insects or cobwebs appearing between cleanings and arrivals.- All rugs in the cabin are less than 8 months old, and we assure you the property is regularly maintained.- Regarding your refund, we followed up with Evolve and they confirmed a partial refund has been processed. We understand how disappointing this experience must have been and appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. My family and I (which includes 3 kids ages 2-9) had an amazing time at this cabin! Where do I begin… the location was perfect as it was nestled half way in between General Grant tree (Kings Canyon) and General Sherman (Seqouia National Park). We loved playing the board games that were available after a long day of hiking. We loved the family of chickens that greeted us every morning with their baby chicks. Before the trip, I was a little worried after reading one of the previous reviews, but that all disappeared once I was there and spoke with the owner (to which she is new since the past review and has been fixing the issues one by one). So, to anyone reading this… this is a cabin in the middle of a mountain, so, there WILL be bugs, there WILL be dirt, there WILL be wasps and bees (especially in the summer trying to get where it is cool). But, we expected this. Yes, the shower has a spot of rust, but it didn’t bother us. So, if you’re an outdoorsy family, this cabin is for you. If you’re a family that frequents resorts and likes fancy things, then this cabin might not be for you (just to set expectations). Side note: We left our hiking backpack there so now the cabin is equipped with: a pack n play, a high chair, AND a hiking backpack.

Awesome gateway to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks

Decided to base our visits to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks from the fantastically located and charming property. Best decision ever. The cabin is extremely clean, well appointed and comfortable - and the bit of quirkiness adds to a great experience (although the shower is indeed narrow! There is no hallway to the 2nd bedroom so its either an outside exit or a walk through of the other bedroom). The internet was fast and reliable. The driveway to the cabin is demarked by a small sign visible only in the uphill direction of Hwy 245, so it might be a bit difficult to locate for the first time if driving in the downhill direction (you get good driving instructions after booking, but do rely on the given landmarks.). Our host (Sandie) was incredibly responsive but totally unintrusive. My inquiries were responded to in a matter of minutes. We had absolutely no issues with anything not working at the cabin, so even though it is rustic, it is well maintained and highly functional. There were tons of birds and deer on the property, so morning coffee on the veranda was pretty idyllic. It took us about 20 minutes to reach the Big Stump entrance to Sequoia / Kings Canyon National Park, which is ideal if you're interested in exploring the canyon. It's also an easier drive to the main Sequoia groves than driving from the south entrance to the park.
