Had a wonderful time with grandchildren. Wonder Works, Crazy Masons, DinoLand, beach and pool time!

First off, I thought i was booking with a host named Elliot as that is how the hosts bane was provided on VRBO. This was misleading as the hist was really a large scale rental agency called Elliot Beach Rentals. Their check in instructions had me reroute my normal journey from South Myrtle where the rental location was, to an office in North Myrtle simply to pick up a welcome packet of toilet tissue and an envelope with my rental unit location on it. This added an additional 30 minutes to my check in and arrival. Once I finally made it to Holiday Sands I discovered that the entire resort was full of people freely smoking in the non smoking areas, and there was trash cigarette butts and used bandaids all around the kids indoor pool area. I could not use the bed because it was an antiquated inner spring that had seen better days over a decade ago. Once I reported this, the resort, Elliot and VRBO played pass the buck and claimed they had to get the owner to take care if it. Except the owner of the unit was entirely unavailable. We decided to end our stay early as a result of this poor customer service and trash mattress. As we are leaving the room to take our luggage to the car soneone from maintenance shows up with a foam mattress topper from Walmart. We checked out and drove 5 hours back home rather than continuing our nightmare vacation. When I called VRBO about this someone who could barely speak English told me it was my fault and I would have to take it up with Elliott.

Thank you for your feedback. We regret that your vacation did not meet your expectations. While Elliott Beach Rentals is clearly identified as the property management company throughout the booking process and in the confirmation information, we understand that check-in at our office may not be everyone's preference. We also apologize for the condition of the resort's common areas. Please note that those areas are maintained by the resort and HOA, not Elliott Beach Rentals. Your concerns regarding the mattress were taken seriously, and maintenance responded by providing a mattress topper while arrangements were being made with the owner regarding a replacement. As a gesture of goodwill, compensation was provided to address the concerns you experienced. We appreciate the opportunity we were given to resolve the matter and feel that the issues were addressed appropriately. For that reason, we believe an additional negative review after receiving a refund is unnecessary. We wish you the best in your future travels.
