Ruakaka Retreat, heavenly views.

Set just 4 km off state highway 1 up in the hills, this quiet unique free-standing cottage is the perfect get-away. Ruakaka beach is 6-7 minutes' drive and Whangarei is 25 minutes to the North and Waipu just 15 minutes' drive away, you have so much to do. Have a wander through the large garden area out front.
There is one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, Air Fryer, Rice cooker and hot plate, with pot and pans for cooking. I also have some cooking basics also, Rice, Flour, Oats, Cooking oil etc,If you are staying for 3 days or more there is a washing machine / drier available (please ask if you require this).
There is wi-fi available and excellent Cell phone coverage also.
Feel free to wander around the property and take a walk along the (hardly any traffic) road, there are beautiful views everywhere, and it's worth a visit to Wilsons Dam, which supplies Whangarei with water.
I have two Sea Kayaks and life jackets available to use, but you will need a way to transport them or ask me and if I am around, I can help with this.

There are two rubbish bins on the rear deck, put bottles, tins, cans, plastic and cardboard in the green bin. Put any other rubbish in the black bin.
Please use the small compost bin provided for vegetable scraps etc., but no meat fish chesses etc. and empty it to the main compost bin.
No cooking of really really spicy food please Please don't make up the Sofa Bed, it will be made up for booking's over 2 guests.

I loved the quiet and calm atmosphere. The view was fantastic, and the batch had all the basics for a comfortable stay. It’s close to interesting towns and not far from the beach. Mark was considerate and easy to communicate with. Thank you I had a lovely, relaxing time at a good price. Highly recommend.

Love the lil cottage, the only thing I didnt like was the long gravel road to the cottage. Also theres no soap in the shower.

Hidden gem with reasonable price

We loved the location and the amazing view of Ruakaka beach from the house. It was very clean and the sofa bed was set up for us upon arrival. Good indoor space for us (2 adults and 1 kid) and there are great outdoor areas for exploring. All come with a very reasonable price tag during holiday season. Mark and his partner were very friendly and helpful.
