➔ Bedroom / Living: King bed + king Murphy bed (folds down from the wall)
➔ Bathroom: Full bath with shower
➔ No separate bedroom — this is a studio layout
Kitchenette: Sink, mini fridge, single burner, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee maker. Stocked with pots, pans, plates, and utensils. Lobby café and on-site restaurant cover any gap.
Bathroom: Full bath with shower, hair dryer, towels, and essentials. Fresh towels each stay.
Workspace: Dedicated desk with chair and reliable Wi-Fi. Fireplace lobby downstairs available for quieter calls.
Grand Lodge Shared Amenities (included): Heated indoor/outdoor pool (open 365 days), year-round outdoor hot tub, steam room, fitness center, fireplace lobby, complimentary town shuttle to downtown Crested Butte, EV charging in the lot.
What This Studio Does Well: Pet friendly at the base village — an HOA restriction limits pets to 1st and 2nd floors, so this 1st-floor unit is one of the few options. Two-minute walk to Red Lady Express. Ground-floor entry that works for dogs, gear, and tired legs. A/C and an electric fireplace in unit. Self check-in by digital keypad.
Know Before Booking: 1st-floor location near the elevator and pool deck means light noise carries — the in-unit white-noise machine is provided for that reason. Pet fee: $50 flat for up to 2 dogs. Building common areas date to 1999; the unit itself is updated.
Guest Access:
Self Check-In: Digital keypad entry. Your code and 1st-floor East-building directions are emailed before arrival. Late arrivals accepted with advance notice.
Your Space: The entire studio is yours, plus full access to Grand Lodge shared amenities — heated indoor/outdoor pool, year-round hot tub, fitness center, steam room, and fireplace lobby.
Pets: Up to 2 dogs welcome with a $50 flat fee. Ground-floor entry — no elevator with the dog.
Parking & EV: Complimentary parking in the Grand Lodge lot (1 pass per reservation). EV charging available on-site.

Check-in: 4:00 PM | Checkout: 10:00 AM
The Neighborhood:
Location: Grand Lodge sits at the base of Mt Crested Butte, adjacent to Red Lady Express lift. The immediate base village includes ski rental shops, casual restaurants, an après bar, and lift-adjacent chairlift views. Downtown historic Crested Butte (Victorian storefronts, galleries, breweries, live music, fine dining) is a free shuttle or 6–8 minute drive away — 3 miles north.
Dog-Friendly Surroundings: Snodgrass Trail and the Lower Loop are leash-friendly hikes from the base in summer. Designated Nordic trails accept dogs in winter. Many of downtown Crested Butte's restaurant patios are dog-welcoming in season.
Season-by-Season:
- Winter: Peak skiing, après-ski scene, holiday festivities.
- Spring: Melting snow, opening trails, wildflowers.
- Summer: Alpine hiking, mountain biking, Kebler Pass scenic loop (35 min), fly-fishing.
- Fall: Aspen peak color (late September), fewer visitors, ideal hiking weather.
Air Access: Gunnison Valley Regional Airport (GUC), 30 miles / 40 min south. Denver International (DEN), 230 miles east via I-70.
Altitude: 9,375 ft. Thin air, strong sun, cool nights even in summer. Bring sunscreen, extra water, and take day one easy if new to altitude — this applies to dogs too.
Two Towns, Two Vibes: Mt Crested Butte (the ski village, amenity-focused) versus historic Crested Butte (downtown, artsy, bohemian, 3 miles away). Both worth exploring on a multi-day trip.
Getting Around:
Parking: Free parking in the Grand Lodge lot (1 pass per reservation).
Red Lady Express Lift: 2-minute walk from Studio 107 to the lift line. Follow signs through the Grand Lodge courtyard to the base lodge. Lift opens 9:00 AM.
Town Shuttle: Complimentary service from the Grand Lodge main entrance to downtown Crested Butte (Elk Avenue). Schedule in the lobby and pre-arrival guidebook. Evening service runs later on weekends (seasonal).
Walking with Dogs: 1st-floor exit means no elevator with the dog. Snodgrass Trail and Lower Loop are dog-friendly hikes accessible from the base village in summer.
Ski & Bike Storage: Butte & Co (base area) provides free overnight and day storage. Winter hours 7:00 AM–6:00 PM; summer hours extended.
Rental Car: Available at Gunnison airport (30 miles, 40 min). Useful for Kebler Pass scenic drives, backcountry trailhead access, and supply runs.
Distances from Grand Lodge:
» 2-min walk ➔ Red Lady Express base lodge
» 6–8 min (shuttle/car) ➔ Downtown historic Crested Butte
» 35-min drive ➔ Kebler Pass scenic loop (best late September)
» 40-min drive ➔ Gunnison airport (GUC)
» 230 miles, 4 hrs ➔ Denver International Airport (DEN)
» 1.5 hrs (summer only) ➔ Aspen (via Independence Pass; closed Oct–May)
Winter Driving: I-70 and US-50 to Gunnison see snow and ice Nov–April. Tire chains required by law in severe conditions.
Other Things to Note:
Pets: Up to 2 dogs welcome with a $50 flat fee per stay. The Grand Lodge HOA restricts pets to the 1st and 2nd floors; Studio 107 (1st floor) is one of the rare pet-welcome options at the base village. Please leash dogs in common areas and clean up outdoors.
Air Conditioning: Yes — A/C is in the unit. Most Grand Lodge units don't have A/C.
White-Noise Machine: Provided. Helps with elevator and pool-deck noise that can carry to 1st-floor units.
Housekeeping: No daily service. Mid-stay turnover available with 24 hours' notice ($100).
Grand Lodge Amenities: Pool, hot tub, gym, and steam room are operated by a separate building management company. Rare temporary closures for maintenance do happen — we'll communicate any that we're aware of in advance.
Altitude: 9,375 ft. First-time high-altitude visitors and dogs may feel mild fatigue for 24–48 hours.
What To Pack:
- Winter (Nov–April): Winter coat, ski gear (or rent locally), hand warmers, sunscreen, dog jacket if needed.
- Summer (June–August): Rain jacket, layers, sturdy hiking boots, sunscreen, sunglasses, leash + waste bags.
- Spring & Fall: Unpredictable weather — pack layers and a waterproof jacket.
