The house was perfect for what we wanted. Great location and easy access to the beach right across the street. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great and exactly as pictured. Crofter is connected off the back deck and doesn't feel too separated from the house, which was nice.

Great Family House

My family has been going to Bald Head for 20 year and have stayed in this house before. It's a great house with a super location but the house could use a better stocked kitchen, serving dishes, etc. We went at the end of the season so the house was a little warn out, but the property manager was very helpful to get things up to par.

Fun in the Sun

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have been coming to Bald Head for over 20 years and have stayed in many homes. This house is one of my favs!It is in a great location. My friends and I were very pleased with the house. Most of the issues that renters had complained about have been resolved.. many pots and pans now, golf carts worked fine.The screens in the doors downstairs were torn out and need to be repaired but I'm sure with Corona, it has been hard to get everything fixed 100%. The floors in the living area/kitchen could use a good scrubbing but otherwise, house was very clean. Pam in the rental office was very helpful and addressed the questions I had after reading some reviews.We had Mothers day brunch at the Palms BHI club. It was awesome, wonderful, delicious !!! Everything under the sun to eat!! I liked Horizons, Jules and the Palm terrace also. We went to the pool a few days and enjoyed frosty drinks that were yummy! I rented bikes and always enjoy riding the island.All the shop employees are very friendly and I think enjoy vacationers! It was good to see people enjoying life again and laughing and having a good time. Thanks so much to the home owners for allowing pets! I will not rent a house unless I can bring my dog. Overall, this is one of my favorite houses( and I have many to compare to!) and will rent it again.

An excellent choice

We had a perfect week at Roger That! between the weather, the location, and the wonderful accommodations. We've been renting homes on the island since 1998 and my husband said this house had the best gas grill anywhere. We were also delighted by a brand new oven/range. Overall the home was just lovely. It was the perfect place for our family get together. Thank you to the hosts.

Home maintenance and cleaning need attention

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great home and location, but it seems that maintenance has been neglected and cleaning is not up to par. The oven door was broken, and the oven was not functionable. The top rack of the dish washer keeps falling out. Only 1 of 4 bulbs still working over sink. No cover on the light can above a shower, and bulb and socket is visible. HVAC filters extremely dirty. Ceiling fans very dusty. Kitchen not adequately supplied. There were not any drinking glasses except some small tumblers. Pots and pans in disarray with too many in the cabinets, but few in decent condition. It's not how I would keep my beach home if I were renting it. For the rental price and location, I would expect more attention with maintaining the home furnishing, fixtures, and accessories.

Our toaster that was to hold 4 slices of bread only 1 slot worked. Called management co. and they said they would bring another toaster but we never received it. We had a few spiders and small roaches.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I'll start with the positives. The home itself if beautiful and well equipped, and a spectacular view. We love Bald Head Island, but sadly this week wasn't at all what we'd hoped for the money we spent. Prior to our stay I read reviews that raised concern for me, in particular the condition of the golf carts. I called in advance and was assured the carts would be serviced. On our first full day, our boys got stranded because one cart's battery wouldn't hold a charge. We were given a loaner and toward the end of the week the owners purchased a new cart, so it's since been resolved, but should have been addressed before we arrived.Next was the dredging project on the beach. This was disclosed to us in an email only days before our arrival, with no options to reconsider. There was heavy machinery running all hours of the night up and down the beach, not to mention all the unsightly pipes, etc. Huge disappointment. I recognize it's not within control of the rental agency; however, you simply cannot command the same rental prices under those circumstances. The outcome was not handled to our satisfaction. The home was extremely clean and cared for, but as others have noted there are some issues - heating/AC not balanced and sounds like a plane is taking off when it goes on and off in the small guest house. The water on the refrigerator does not work. There were no beach towels provided as listed in description. Also, renters please beware with the purchase of temporary club memberships. We got inconsistent information each time we tried to call and make reservations and it was very difficult to get times to use the amenities and restaurants we'd paid a pretty price to access.

Reviewer Comments: The description says the house was completely renovated a couple of years ago, but it is pretty run down. Kitchen is very small and cabinets and appliances are old. Though it’s a 5 bedroom, the one sitting area is small. The dining room table is large but the chairs are uncomfortable and very low to the ground in relation to the height of the table. Plenty of dishes but no large serving bowls. Also, the beach was being refurbished during our stay which limited where you could walk and you had to listen to the noise of the dredger. I think we should have been informed in advance. I would not rent again.

Reviewer Comments: Just finished a week in BHI at Roger That! and wanted to share my experience: Pros: Great central location on the island; Easy beach access; House has plenty of room and is tastefully decorated; Very pet friendly home & location; Internet TV or wifi signal worked as expectedCons: House is worn from being a rental property; Very drafty inside due to lack of weather stripping around front and back doors which plays havoc on the HVAC system; One of the golf carts (red one) is not safe to drive (dim lights and serious vibrations above 5 mph); Fridge water dispenser not operable; no bikes at property I would recommend this house mostly due to central beachfront location but it was disappointing that the propery manager never addressed some of these issues which have been repeated in several reviews. I did reach out to the manager and my feedback was met with indifference.

The Golf carts need attention, the head lights went off and on then went out completely. Made it impossible to drive at night. We rented an extra cart, since there were only carts for 8 guests and house for 12 guests.
