UzuriBarossa, Tranquil guesthouse retreat in Lyndoch, Barossa Valley
UzuriBarossa is perfectly suited to those seeking a restorative weekend escape from the city — a place to slow down, reconnect and savour the beauty of the Barossa at an unhurried pace. It also provides an intimate and elegant setting for celebrating a special occasion, whether it be a birthday, anniversary or simply time carved out together.
For weary travellers, the cottage offers more than just a comfortable night’s rest. The added convenience of on-site laundry facilities means you can refresh your wardrobe while you refresh yourself — making it ideal for those enjoying a longer journey or pausing for a few nights of well-earned comfort.
UzuriBarossa’s amenities have been thoughtfully curated to ensure a stay that is both comfortable and indulgent. On arrival, enjoy a complimentary jar of delicious local Barossa Bluegum honey, a selection of teas and Nespresso coffee pods, along with a seasonal mix of herbs freshly picked from our garden — small touches that warmly welcome you to the region.
The bedroom is prepared as a luxurious king-sized bed configuration (of two king singles pushed together or the flexibility of two king singles bed apart) dressed in comfortable quality linens. A wardrobe and elegant dressing table complete the space, while split system heating and cooling units in both the bedroom and living room ensure year-round comfort, allowing you to relax in every season. The bathroom features a shower, basin, toilet with plush towels and toiletries thoughtfully provided for your stay.
The fully equipped kitchen includes pots, pans, crockery, glassware, cutlery and teaware, along with quality appliances such as a fridge, oven, microwave, gas cooktop, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. A washing machine, air-drying rack and outdoor clothesline add convenience for longer stays.
The open-plan living, kitchen and dining area creates a welcoming space to unwind, complete with a two-seat dining table, HD flat-screen TV and Netflix. High-speed, reliable Wi-Fi is provided throughout the cottage, making UzuriBarossa an excellent choice for guests who may need to work remotely or attend to business while away — allowing productivity without compromising on comfort.
Outside, an undercover verandah with a bench offers a peaceful spot to enjoy the fresh Barossa air. On-site parking ensures ease and convenience throughout your stay.
Getting Around
A car is recommended for exploring the Barossa region and transporting luggage or supplies. There is also a bus stop located just down the road from the property. I’m a designer at heart and a city person learning the joys of gardening and landscaping as I shape our property into something truly special. In 2017, my husband Kipi and I made a tree change with our two children after spending half my life in Melbourne’s vibrant inner suburbs and the earlier half in Malaysia.
These days, I embrace a slower pace of life, surrounded by beautiful nature and a wonderfully welcoming community.
I love cooking and bringing people together—there’s nothing better than sharing a meal around the table with family and friends. As a family, we also enjoy travelling, especially returning to Malaysia and Kenya to spend time with our extended families.
One of our most rewarding projects has been renovating a run-down pottery studio on our property and transforming it into a charming guesthouse. It’s now a warm and inviting space where friends, family, and guests can relax and unwind.
We feel incredibly lucky to call this place home and are delighted to share our little slice of paradise with travellers. Meeting new people is always a pleasure, and I look forward to hosting you and making your stay comfortable, memorable, and truly special.
