The Space:
A renovated 2-bedroom condo at 800 Poplar Street — two minutes on foot from Main Street in Leadville, Colorado. Cathedral beam ceilings, globe pendant lights, and mountain views through oversized windows.
➔ Infrared Sauna (NEW)
A new infrared sauna sits in the corner of Bedroom 1 — the reason to book this place over the condo next door. Warm up after a cold day on the slopes, loosen sore legs after a 14er, or shake off the chill that comes with 10,152 feet. Chromotherapy lighting, seats two.
➔ Bedroom 1 (Queen)
Queen bed, Smart TV with Netflix, a dedicated desk with external monitor hookup, and the infrared sauna in the corner. Mountain views through the window — an office by day, a recovery room at night.
➔ Bedroom 2 (Queen)
Queen bed, Smart TV, pendant lighting, blackout curtains. On the quieter side of the building for uninterrupted sleep.
➔ Kitchen + Living
Full kitchen, recently renovated with an electric range, stainless French-door fridge, dishwasher, Keurig, and full cookware set. Dining table seats 6 under the cathedral beams. Leather sectional and Smart TV with Netflix in the living area.
➔ Bathroom
Newly renovated — walk-in shower with green tile and a rainfall showerhead, wood vanity, stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
➔ Laundry
Samsung stacked washer/dryer in-unit — pack light and stay longer.
What this home does well:
— New infrared sauna — recover after ski, bike, and 14er days without leaving the condo
— 2-minute walk to Main Street's restaurants, bars, brewery, coffee, and shops — no car needed once you park
— 600Mbps WiFi with a dedicated desk and external monitor hookup — built for real remote work
What to know before booking:
— Second-floor walk-up, no elevator. Easy staircase, just worth knowing with heavy ski gear
— No A/C — at 10,152 ft Leadville stays cool. The living room can run cool on winter mornings (a space heater is provided) while the bedrooms hold heat, so crack a window before bed
Guest Access:
Entire condo is yours — make yourself at home.
Self check-in via smartlock. Access code sent 30 minutes before check-in (Alex texts it directly — appreciated by guests given Leadville's spotty cell service).
Parking: Free on-site parking on Poplar Street, or diagonal spaces on 8th Street across from the building. Please don't park in front of neighbors' houses on East 8th Street.
The Neighborhood:
You're one block from the heart of Leadville — Colorado's highest incorporated city at 10,152 feet, surrounded by more 14,000-foot peaks than anywhere in the Rockies.
Walk one minute to Main Street's restaurants, bars, craft brewery, and shops. Park once and don't move the car all weekend.
» 1min walk ➔ Main Street dining, bars + shopping
» 12min drive ➔ Turquoise Lake — hiking, fishing, paddleboarding
» 25min drive ➔ Copper Mountain ski resort
» 26min drive ➔ Mt. Elbert Trailhead (highest peak in the Rockies)
» 30min drive ➔ Ski Cooper
» 47min drive ➔ Vail Ski Resort
Summer: bike or run the Mineral Belt Trail from the front door, then thaw out in the sauna. Hike Colorado's highest peaks — Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive are both within 30 minutes.
Winter: ski Copper or Ski Cooper, walk back to dinner on Main Street, and warm up in the infrared sauna. Leadville's snow season runs November through April.
Year-round: Leadville's Victorian Main Street is one of Colorado's most photogenic historic districts — silver mining museums, ghost town tours, and the Tabor Opera House. A park and playground sit directly next to the building.
Getting Around:
A car is recommended for day trips (ski areas, trailheads, Turquoise Lake) but not needed for downtown Leadville. Main Street is a 2-minute walk. Grocery store less than a mile. Park and playground right next door.
From Denver (DEN): ~2hr drive via I-70 W to Hwy 91 S. The route crosses Fremont Pass (11,318 ft) — check conditions at cotrip.org in winter. AWD or chains recommended Nov–Apr.
From Eagle/Vail (EGE): ~1hr drive, less mountain-pass exposure.
Uber/Lyft availability is limited in Leadville — plan on driving yourself to ski areas and trailheads.
Free on-site parking on Poplar Street.
