Private mountain getaway with huge views on 10 wooded acres! The property is nestled among mature timber, with a creek running through the backyard. Most days, you'll get to see moose :)

The main house has 3 bedrooms 3.5 baths and a loft with an office with plenty of room for a Queen sized air-mattress (provided). The garage is HEATED and there are 2 additional bedrooms - no bathroom in the garage - so we call it the bunk room.

We have 9 total beds, a Queen Floor mattress, pack & play, 3 sofas, and bedding/pillows to sleep up to 20 guests (recommend 12-16 adults).

Starlink wifi, hot tub, covered deck & patio, pool table, Bluetooth Soundsystem.

Watch the sunrise over Pike's Peak, sunset over Pennsylvania Mtn, and views of the Milky Way at night :) *Be sure to turn off house lights and you'll likely see shooting stars from the hot tub or back patio!

Other things to note: Must have AWD vehicle to access the home Nov-April, no refunds given if you get stuck. Snow Tires & chains recommended - Please familiarize yourself with Mountain Driving. The home is located on a gravel county road and we can not guarantee how often it is plowed. The driveway is plowed after 6" accumulation overnight.

Pet fee of $150 applied for up to 2 pets/stay. Additional pets must be approved.

No Parties, No Smoking, No unregistered guests - Fines apply *Events must be pre-approved and often require a 1 day insurance policy & extra cleaning fees.

This cabin was amazing!!! We rented the cabin for chrismtas week and it was everything and more. We have a large family and this cabins accommodations were spacious and clean. The views were amazing and the host was easy to reach as well as welcoming and quick woth responce. They had everything we needed and more. All the kids on this trip enjoyed every bit of nature as well as the game room and all the adults loved the living area and patio for morning coffee! We were able to get amazing pictures of the senery this cabin had to offer. We also saw a Moose and got a couome of pictures so the name is very fitting for this cabin. Being from Texas I though we were going to struggle with altittude so an oxygen concentrator was there just in case and we brought extra but we were not effected at all. I just want tocsay thank you to then host for everything and higly recommend.

Booked the Mangy Moose for our wedding. The hosts were both available whenever we had questions and ready to answer all. We have seen the residential moose Earl everyday leading to and on the day of the wedding. Check in and out instructions were simple and straight forward. It was an amazing home, property, stay and hosts! Will hope to visit again soon.

Great Location & House!

We loved the location and size of this house. The house had everything we needed for our stay and plenty of beds for our party of 9. Our kids enjoyed the hot tube and our entire family enjoyed the pool table. The views from the house are fantastic and we enjoyed viewing moose, deer, and coyotes from the deck.

Amazing Place!

Everything about our stay was amazing. The views were spectacular and the location was perfect. Just 20 minutes from the nearest town with all the amenities you’d need (grocery, gas, coffee) but isolated enough that you have all the nature Colorado has to offer (we saw moose, countless deer, and so many humming birds!)The house was amazing. Well stocked and supplied, clean, and everything was labeled so no hunting around for the right cupboard. The hosts supply an oxygen concentrator, which was appreciated by all of us flat landers!

Amazing Space for Intimate Wedding /Vacation

We rented this beautiful place for a family vacation and a wedding ceremony. The house was beautiful and the view was breathtaking! We saw wildlife around the property everyday. The hosts were amazing throughout the entire process, and the communication was great, both prior and during our stay. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed plus many extras! It was a wonderful experience and hope to be able to do it again soon!

The mangy moose was very pet friendly. The place was ready on time as promised and communication with the owners was almost immediate. I really appreciated having questions answered in a timely manner. Our only problem was a member of our party got severe altitude sickness thus truncating our stay. Other members of the group were able to stay. One thing that would greatly improve the MM would be a bathroom facility in the garage thus eliminating the need to walk over to the main house for middle of the night usage. Other than that everything was perfect. We even had a little snow making the setting ever more magical and the appearance of the moose and some bear to add to the wonder that us Maui folks never see. I would return in a heartbeat, but the altitude may prohibit that.

Beautiful Location

The house was beautiful and well stocked. There are excellent amenities in the house (hot tub, pool table, games, puzzles, etc) The beds were comfortable as well which was a bonus. We would stay there again.

Ski Weekend

My friends and I had a great stay here. The home was beautiful along with the views, and offers many amenities. We loved the clear directions and helpful signage throughout the home. Our hosts were very responsive prior and during our stay with any questions. I would highly recommend booking this home. The reason we chose this location was for overall bed options and location between our itinerary of skiing in Breck and hot springs at Mt Princeton.

Beautiful home with all amenities

We have visited FairPlay 3 times now and this has been the BEST experience. It was a bit out of our budget but it was worth every penny. This home has everything you could possibly need. Extra toothbrushes, soap, bug spray, board games, a bunch of kitchen dishes and appliances. The listing mentions the wildlife in the area and it is very accurate. We saw elk, deer, plenty of chipmunks and even a bear!! The trees are beautiful, weather was great. There were 16 of us and we had plenty of room to sleep. The hosts were quick to respond and left plenty of instructions. I hope to come back next year , this home should definitely be your first pick.

Mountain oasis

We absolutely loved our stay at this wonderful mountain oasis. We had a large group for a family reunion, and tge home fit all of us perfectly. It was clean and comfortable with stunning views. We really enjoyed the hot tub and watching the sun rise from the upper deck. I can't wait to book another stay here next summer.

Amazing stay!

This place was the perfect getaway tucked into the mountains. We saw a lot of wildlife, including a moose right when we pulled up to the house. Kia was so friendly and checked in with me throughout our entire stay. We didn't want to leave! I would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful location with lots of room!

We had 16 furefighter wives stay for a wonderful weekend! The kitchen was fully stocked and the layout worked so well to accommodate us all. We didn't get to see any wildlife but the view of Pikes Peak was pretty neat! Hope to return again soon!

Absolute no brainer to book this place

Kia was quite possibly one of the best hosts I’ve ever rented from. The house was on point, accurate and advice and beyond what’s usually promised and kept at a rental. The house had so many unique and minor touches that made it feel like home more than majority of rentals that seem crudely put together.

Wonderful experience

These hosts helped us in an unfortunate change of events and were absolutely wonderful in accommodating our group. Very easy to communicate with and their responsiveness was very timely. We hope to visit again in the future!!! The actual house was fabulous and extremely well stocked and cozy!!

We both grew up in the Midwest. Moved to Denver after College. Worked together building an insurance agency for 11yrs & transitioned away from insurance in 2021. Rob is the director of talent for Thrive Real Estate in Denver & Kia does most of the rentals (decorating, managing, & finding the next house). We love being hosts and hope you feel right at home when you stay with us.

We are not Colorado Natives, but moved here in 2004 & 2011. We had all 3 of our children here, so they are "Natives". We love all things Colorado - Hiking, Aspen Trees, Fly-fishing, Skiing/Snowboarding, Stargazing, Sunrises & Sunsets, Sports (Avalanche, Rockies, Broncos, Nuggets, Rapids) and so much more.

This house is the perfect getaway for our family. It's just under 2 hours from where we live in Denver. Our oldest just got his first Bow&Arrow set - so traversing the property on a summer day is so much fun. The kids love building forts and animal spotting - Mostly Moose, but there's plenty of cool birds, deer, and even Elk. We love star-gazing at night in the hot tub or relaxing after a day on the Slopes (Breckenridge & Copper). Our dogs: Sherlock, Maxwell, & Moose can't get enough outdoor time when we bring them up. We love the heated floors and automatic fireplaces in the winter. The whole house sound-system is great too. We love playing games as a family, so you'll find tons of cards, puzzles and board games too. There's also a few books - kids and adult (feel free to leave any behind).
