A comfortable lodging in an excellent location for exploring Vancouver. It’s on a major east west bicycle route, a few blocks from Hastings St with bus availability as well as lots of restaurants and markets. Nancy was a very responsive and accommodating host, she helped us store our bicycles and was ready to assist with other questions and concerns.

Nancy was a very kind and helpful host, making sure we had everything we needed. The house was clean, located in a nice neighborhood, easy parking, and fully stocked with essentials—even laundry pods. Overall, I would definitely stay again next time I’m in Vancouver!

The place itself is very nice. Our stay, unfortunately, wasn't. The main factor was how hot it was. There is no A/C, just a thermostat that that displays the indoor temperature but doesn't actual control anything. It was unusually hot in Vancouver during our stay in early August, which no one can control, but it made the place really uncomfortable to be in. The unit is essentially a basement apartment under the main residence. There are a few narrow windows in the bedrooms and main living area, but they did not open wide enough to let significant airflow in. This resulted in the unit being consistently hotter than it was outside most of the day. The thermostat read between 27-28C for most of the two-day span (80-82F). This just simply wasn't comfortable, and getting a decent night sleep was difficult, especially for my wife, who had an early-morning wakeup and a half marathon to run the first day. Two small fans were provided, but they didn't help much, other than making sleeping tolerable with it blasting our faces. Two smaller things were that the TV doesn't really work. It's an old Samsung with a 2nd gen Chromecast. I'm tech savvy, and was only able to play one movie during our stay. The final little missing detail was not having a stopper for the soaking tub. I tried to surprise my wife with some bath bombs after her race, only to be disappointed to find out that a bath wasn't possible. It's very nice otherwise, and I'm sure quite pleasant when it isn't hot out.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We really appreciate it, as it will help us make improvements for future guests. We have ordered a new Chromecast and hope that it will work much better than the older version. It has been unusually warm for Vancouver, but this seems to be the trend, and we will be installing a portable A/C unit for the summer months. While there was a stopper for the tub, we are not sure where it is now. The cleaner did not advise that it was missing or may not have noticed. We will be purchasing one to replace it. Thank you for your review and safe travels.
