Communication with the host was excellent and the property had the basics we needed and was generally comfortable and nice to be there. The check-in website has very useful videos showing you all you need to know which was great (e.g. how to get key, how to use stove, oven, find rubbish disposal etc). The washing machine we had did not match the picture and was not a washing machine dryer as stated (we had a top loader); the bathroom sinks were not cleaned and the vanity drawers are water damaged and warping (but still functional) and the towel rack and toilet roll holders were not securely attached and the toilet seats were not fitted accurately. The shower would benefit from a shower caddy, or equivalent storage, instead of constantly picking required items up off the shower floor. I realise that without a shower recess the shower caddy does get dirty but they are very useful . The kitchen had insufficient crockery for 4 people (only 3 coffee mugs), no plugs for the sink, and missed some items I thought were basic e.g. vegetable peeler and whisk. The bedrooms would also benefit from a bedside light on each side not just one. That being said, by the end of day 2 the host cleaned the sinks, re-secured the toilet roll holder, and provided an additional coffee mug. We were leaving the next morning and so would have been nicer completed by end of day 1 but it was nice they made the effort and they were apologetic. Overall it allowed us to have a nice short holiday away.
