Enjoy the quiet and deep connection to nature in the Beaver Valley. This historic 1889 restored farmhouse offers comfort and charm. Steep in tradition, this farmhouse has been renovated extensively, keeping the classic farmhouse appeal while adding comfortable amenities.
The main living room, dining room and kitchen are open concept with great flow and functionality. Each common area is curated to accommodate eight people, but can easily be adjusted to a slightly larger group.
Just off of the kitchen is a large screened in porch that has wind protection up for the winter. It’s a beautiful space to bundle up and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets. There is a comfortable lounge area as well as a dining table.
The second floor has three queen beds with two full bathrooms. Stunning views from each bedroom.
On the third floor you escape to an oasis with views to the east escarpment, south valley highlighted by old baldy and westerly escarpment, beaver river and big sky. In the main open concept space there is a living room with a stunning view to the west and overlooking the beaver river . This little oasis gives you stunning sunsets, storm watching, and in the evening you feel so connected to the dark sky full of stars and at times the magic of the moon.
This is also where the fourth bedroom is also tucked away. If there is a need for additional sleeping space there are four single beds strategically laid out.
Outside of the house, you can remain cozy and warm in the wood burning sauna and hot tub. There are also extensive trails on the 64 acres that wind through fields, apple Orchards, new and old growth cedars and along a stunning creek. The creek changes seasonally with it sounds and flow, each unique and powerful with its offering. As the property is sloped this creek offers mini waterfalls from the top of the escarpment all the way to the beaver river. But it does not stop there..beyond the property to the east is conservation land that the adventurous souls can venture for hours.
With views from the east to the west you have sunrises and sunsets. The opposite side of the valley slowly lit in the morning and fades in the evening with the odd sunset highlighting old baldy a breathtaking pink/orange.
You can follow the moon as it pops up behind the escarpment and sweeps across the sky. The magic is all around
There are five parking spots right at the house but more if needed. You are 2 km north of Kimberley, which in it simplicity still offers most of what you need at the General Store. There are also two beautiful restaurants, Justin’s Oven and Hearts Tavern.
Thornbury is 18 minutes away, Blue Mountain 20 min, downtown Collingwood 30 min, Markdale and Flesherton 15. Each of these unique small communities offer great options for restaurants, galleries and shopping.
