Escape to a rare elevated lakeview retreat on Michael Lake, located just under an hour from the GTA. Set on over 3 acres of raised land, this modern (2017-built) cottage offers breathtaking near 360° panoramic views of the surrounding water and landscape—allowing you to enjoy both sunrise and sunset from the same property.

While the property overlooks the lake from all sides, direct water access is nearby via a public launch, making it easy to enjoy kayaking, boating, and other water activities without compromising the privacy and elevation of the home.

What makes this place truly special is the experience it creates. Our family has enjoyed many memorable moments here—from birthdays to New Year celebrations—and we’ve designed the space to comfortably host gatherings while still offering quiet areas to relax.

Turn off all lights, appliances, BBQ, and set thermostat to standard settings. Close and lock all doors and windows. Check all rooms and outdoor areas. Report any damage or issues before departure.

Property so good, enjoyed the views from back and front. Loved the pool facility, game area.One thing need improvement is basement rooms, have no proper blinds or curtains.Also main floor windows and doors need cleaning, saw lots of webs, seemed like we were first tenants of the season.Overall had great time.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the basement room blinds and will certainly look into improving them. Regarding the windows and doors, the property was thoroughly cleaned before your arrival. However, being surrounded by nature and mature trees, spider webs can reappear quite quickly, especially during the warmer months. We appreciate your understanding and will continue doing our best to keep everything in excellent condition for our guests. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future!

We’re a family based in the GTA who created this property as a place to step away from busy city life and enjoy time together in nature. What started as a personal retreat has gradually become a space we’re happy to share with others who appreciate privacy, comfort, and a well-maintained environment.

We’ve put a lot of thought into making the cottage functional for families and groups—from spacious indoor areas to outdoor features that allow everyone to relax or stay active. We personally use the property, so we care about keeping it clean, organized, and properly managed.

As hosts, we aim to keep things simple and reliable: clear communication, easy self check-in, and a smooth experience from arrival to departure. While we’re not on-site, we’re always available if needed.

If you’re looking for a place to unwind, spend quality time, and enjoy the outdoors without unnecessary complications, this is exactly what we designed it for.

We chose this area for a simple reason: it offers a rare balance of privacy, natural beauty, and accessibility. Being on Michael Lake with surrounding waterways like Balsam Lake and Pigeon Lake gives you a true cottage experience—quiet, open, and connected to nature—without being isolated.

What stands out most is the elevated setting and 360° views, which allow both sunrise and sunset from the same property. That’s something we didn’t find in most other locations and it makes a noticeable difference in how you experience the space throughout the day.

At the same time, you’re still close to essentials—grocery stores, gas stations, and local services are within a short drive—so you don’t have to over-plan or bring everything with you.

The area is also great for boating, fishing, and exploring nearby parks and hiking trails, making it suitable whether you want a quiet stay or something more active.

For us, it’s the combination of space, water access, views, and convenience that makes this location stand out—and why we chose it.
