About Samsara Farm
Samsara Farm is a living landscape of gardens, food forest and regenerating bushland, lovingly shaped over the past five years.
The Cottage enjoys private sunset views across the gardens and surrounding countryside. Guests often tell us the photos don't quite capture the feeling of being here. Enjoy long breakfasts on the covered patio, barbecue dinners as the sun goes down, evenings around the firepit and the simple pleasure of watching black cockatoos drift across the valley.
We invite you to explore. Wander the gardens, visit the chooks and native bee hives, swim in the pool, discover the food forest, or follow the regeneration project as it winds down to the creek. There are countless quiet corners throughout the property to relax, read or simply enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
While many guests spend much of their stay enjoying the farm, the Cottage is also perfectly positioned to explore the very best of the Northern Rivers. Federal Village is just five minutes away, while Bangalow, Mullumbimby, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, waterfalls, galleries, markets and exceptional local food experiences are all within easy reach.
Many guests describe Samsara as a place that feels instantly welcoming — somewhere that encourages people to reconnect with nature, with each other and with the slower rhythms of hinterland life.
Your hosts, Jane and Phil, live in the farmhouse nearby. We're always happy to help with recommendations, local knowledge or anything you might need during your stay, while fully respecting your privacy.
We love food, cooking and growing things, so if you'd like recommendations, want to borrow a piece of kitchen equipment, or are curious about what's growing in the gardens and food forest, we're always happy to share.

Jane and Phil are passionate about nature, family, food, music and making the most of life. In 2020, after many years visiting the Northern Rivers, we made the move from Brisbane to our beautiful 10-acre property in Federal and have never looked back.
Phil spends most days on the land, always immersed in a new garden, landscaping or regeneration project. Our bush regeneration project celebrates its fifth year in 2026 and has transformed parts of the property into thriving habitat for native wildlife. Jane works in technology leadership for purpose-driven organisations and loves helping guests discover the best of the region.
We feel incredibly fortunate to call Samsara home and enjoy sharing this special place with others. Whether guests come seeking adventure, connection, creativity or simply a chance to slow down, we love seeing people leave feeling rested, inspired and a little more connected to nature than when they arrived.

All of Byron Shire is special. After spending decades enjoying its beaches, hinterland villages, waterfalls and vibrant community, we decided to make it our permanent home in 2020.
What drew us here? The year-round mild climate, extraordinary natural beauty, thriving arts and music scene, exceptional local food, fresh produce, and a strong sense of community. Life here moves at a different pace. It's a place where people still stop to chat, where farmers' markets are part of the weekly rhythm, and where a morning can begin in the rainforest and end watching the sunset by the beach.
One of the things we love most is the diversity of experiences within easy reach. Guests can spend the morning exploring waterfalls, galleries or local villages, enjoy lunch at a world-class restaurant, browse artisan markets in the afternoon and still be home in time to watch the stars emerge over the hinterland. We genuinely believe it is one of Australia's most beautiful and inspiring places to live and visit.
この宿泊施設の特徴
Samsara Farm is more than a holiday property—it is our home and a labour of love that we have been carefully shaping since moving here in 2020.
Set on ten acres in the rolling hills of Federal, Samsara combines beautiful accommodation with thoughtfully created gardens, a growing food forest and a bush regeneration project that is helping restore native habitat across the property. Every pathway, garden bed and outdoor space has evolved organically in response to country and our love of the natural environment here.
Many guests tell us that the photos don't fully capture the feeling of being here. There is something special about waking to birdsong, watching black cockatoos drift across the valley, wandering through the gardens, meeting the chickens or simply sitting quietly with a coffee while the morning light moves across the landscape.
The Sanctuary and Cottage each offer their own experience, but both are designed around the same philosophy: creating spaces that help people slow down, reconnect and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Long lunches on the patio, sunset barbecues, evenings around the firepit, stargazing, swimming, exploring the creek or sharing good food with family and friends all become part of the rhythm of a stay at Samsara.
We're also perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of the Northern Rivers. Federal Village is just five minutes away, while Bangalow, Mullumbimby, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, waterfalls, markets and exceptional food experiences are all within easy reach.
Above all, what makes Samsara unique is how it makes people feel. Again and again, guests describe their stay as peaceful, restorative, grounding and memorable. That's exactly what we hoped to create—a place to breathe deeply, reconnect with what matters and leave feeling better than when you arrived.
