This is a lovely place to stay if you want to be near Byron Bay but not necessarily be in the thick of things. It's peaceful and quiet, and the cottage has lovely views of the hinterland. The accommodation was comfortable, and has an amazing shower and bath.
However, when we arrived it was an extremely hot day, and that cottage was an absolute hot box. We arrived after a long day of travelling and had groceries etc ready to unpack, but not even the refrigerator was turned on for us, nor the AC. It took about 3 hours for the place to be at a decent enough temperature to be comfortable - even the tiled floors were too hot to walk on barefoot.
Also, the place had not been properly cleaned - the bin in the bathroom had the rubbish from the previous tenants, including things I just don't want to see.
The wi-fi is questionable. This is great if you want to be contactable but if you do, be aware that phone reception and wifi isn't great.
Also, I'd say that the cottage is more like a 15-20 min drive out of Byron. I thought it was a lot closer with a description of 10 mins away - but it is further than that.
Lastly, the kitchen has the bare minimum of items but don't expect ample tea or coffee supplies on arrival. Perhaps I'm old fashioned, but I would expect simple things like that for the price you pay. The kitchen facilities are cheap and not luxurious.
