Smoky Mountain Family Vacation

Our family visited from 5/29-6/7 and had a lovely time. Accommodations were just perfect for us. Beautiful views, close to National Park entrance; no park pass required just parking pass you purchase at visitors center. Hiking for all age groups. Awesome restaurants in all surrounding towns.

Family getaway

We had an amazing time staying at this place! Such a beautiful view and lovely home! The driveway is a little nerve wracking at first, but I had it down by the time we left. Larianne was so helpful and a pleasure to work with! We would love to go back again!

My stay

The home was very pretty and beautiful view. The downfall was the driveway, the back deck had no canopy nor umbrella which was much needed considering it rained the first three days. On the days or nights you could sit outside you had to deal with the horrible noise coming from the bottom of the hill at the mountain coaster/entertainment center . It sounded like a generator on steroids ! Again, the views are beautiful and the home very clean and pretty but the noise and driveway would deter me from staying in this place again.

Tammy, so glad to hear you enjoyed our house and the view. The view is absolutely amazing and we love it. Additionally, I am sorry to hear about your downfalls of our property however. Regarding the umbrella/canopy, our listing does not advertise having a covered area on our back patio nor do our pictures show a covered area at our property and having an umbrella is not ideal due to occasional high winds. The driveway can be tricky for some which is why we are completely transparent and have a picture of it in our listing for guests to see beforehand. Lastly, regarding the noise from OberGatlinburg, I am not quite sure what noise you are speaking of as we have stayed at our house several times and have never been bothered by a noice below. Maybe they were doing some maintenance at the time and that is what you heard but we apologize that it hindered your stay. Again, we appreciate that you enjoyed our house but wish your review more accurately portrayed our home instead of outside factors that we have no control over.

Peaceful Giveaway

Easy to rent, had everything we needed, well stocked with dishes and linens. It was so peaceful and quite. Best view from the back deck. Be prepared to go up on the mountain, way up on the mountain. After we were up there, it's so peaceful, I never wanted to go into town. Didn't see any bears near our cabin, but did see them as we headed down the mountain. Hot water never ran out. Plenty of seating for everyone, the grill on the back deck was a plus. Owners are very helpful to help in any way they can. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone going to Gatlinburg. Best sunrises, didn't want to leave. I definitely give 5 stars on everything, best place we've ever stayed. We will definitely be back. Thank you Brian and Larianne.

Pictures a little deceiving

I have stayed at many VRBO houses over the years and this one, although it was clean it was not the best. The pictures are very deceiving. The kitchen is need of some items (pitchers and decent knives). There is rotten wood on house and the tile work in bathroom is pretty bad. This house has lots of neighbors that you can hear talking if you are outside ( this is nothing that anyone can do anything about I realize, but if you are looking for a quiet place this is not it). I will say we had a minor issue and the management company came and took care of it pronto. They were very nice. Also, we did see a pretty good size bear walking on the road. Overall I would give this place a C.

Traci, I am sorry our house was not up to your standards. We bought this house in August because we loved the view and the area and we are steadily working to update everything. Thank you for your honest opinion and we will take note of the updates you mentioned that we have control over.

Great Place

My family stayed here over the Thanksgiving Holiday! Very comfortable and equipped. We cooked Thanksgiving Dinner there. We saw a Mama Bear and 3 cubs everyday around dusk. They would come right up under the deck. The parking is a bit tricky at first but once you do it its easier. We had full disclosure from the owner about the parking. I would not let this deter me at all. Fun watching Ober Make snow and to see everyone snowboarding and sliding. We had a front row seat! Furniture is comfortable and plenty of it. No problems at all. Only thing I would suggest is that they put non skid mats or something in the bathtub and my mom almost slipped and my son fell in the shower. I just went to the dollar store and bought 2 mats for 3 dollars and threw them away as we left. Again Great place and Great Host!

Beautiful View, Treacherous

The view was spectacular. The driveway terrified me. My friend and I are two women in our late 60s, we had a very difficult time backing into the driveway, must be young and daring to get in. The house was okay, dated, wished you had a pitcher. Could use some TLC and the cleaning crew needs to step it up. Bedspread was dirty, something gooey on counters and trash can. The route the gps brought us up to the house was EXTREMLY steep and lots of uphill big turns. I suggest taking Ski Mtn Rd to Wiley Oakley Dr. At 4 way stop make hard left onto Ski View Dr. Still steep and curvy but not as severe. Loved to view but probably won’t stay here again because of the driveway.

Amazing View

We enjoyed the property and especially the view from the back deck. The best part was the momma bear and her 3 cubs that came to visit! I definitely agree that going past the house and coming back down to back into the driveway is the best choice. Backing out of the driveway can be a bit challenging. Overall a very nice property!!

Beautiful Backporch view!

We very much enjoyed our stay here! It was myself, husband and 3 kids (9yrs, 3yrs, 18mo) and two sets of grandparents. The house was perfect, clean, just as described! We loved the back porch view! The driveway definitely only allows 3 cars and we got them in! Thank you so much for sharing your place with us! It’s was convenient for Gatlinburg and pigeon forge!

Trip with grandparents for mountain views

The view from the listing photos is why we booked, and it did not disappoint! While the drive to and from is a little harrowing (highly recommend four-wheel drive), we had a great time during our visit. We had some unexpected issues during our stay (raccoon visitor, power outage), but Brian and Larianne were incredibly responsive. Overall, if you’re comfortable with a 15 minute drive into Gatlinburg and turning in before dark, this is the perfect spot for you!

Great family Cabin

Our family of 6 stayed here for a week and we absolutely loved it. The views were amazing and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals at night. We are from Florida and this was the first time we have done Gatlinburg in the winter. The owners were super helpful/patient advising us Floridians through the snow and driving. We will definitely be coming back!

Hi there! We are 30 something year old native Memphians who love to travel. We love visiting new countries, going cruising and road tripping across America. Brian is a nurse and Larianne is in heavy equipment insurance. We still work full-time but make our rental customer service with our clients a number one priority. Since we travel quite a bit, we know what people look for in a rental property and can use that to make our property desirable for other travelers. In our spare time, you can either find us in the mountains (Gatlinburg) or on the lake (Pickwick Lake). We hope to have the opportunity to share our vacation properties with you!

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

The view! On your way up to our property, we will get a taste of the amazing views but once you set foot on the back deck you will see why we have one of the best views in Gatlinburg. Below us, you will also have a view of Ober Gatlinburg and in the winter months, you will have direct views of the ski slopes. And with 4 bedrooms, you will have enough room for the whole family and will be making memories in no time.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Whether you're watching a movie from the living room couch or sipping your morning coffee on the back deck, you will have an amazing view no matter what. Our Cabin is in the middle of the Smoky Mountains and everything you would want for a perfect mountain retreat. And while you enjoying your view, be prepared to see some black bear sightings as there are many in the area.
