Sleeps 4.
Secluded yet not isolated, just 5 minutes to Bonners Ferry, and 30 minutes to Sandpoint.

Full kitchen & bathroom with shower.
Heated Toilet Seat for your unexpected pleasure!
Dedicated WiFi.
Upstairs bedroom has 3 beds: Queen bed, Full bed, Twin bed.

Charcoal Grill, Picnic Table, Fire Pit, Seasonal Garden.
(BYO Charcoal & Firewood, available at local stores.)

Parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles.
1-acre fenced yard on 10+ acres of wooded mountainside for on-property hiking.
Minutes to national park service trailheads/local lakes.


WINTER GUESTS:
If it snows during your visit, you'll need to shovel snow by the gate and move your vehicles when the snowplow comes. We hire a Snowplow to clear the driveway and your parking area if it snows over 4" and won't melt off. We provide snow shovels to clear the area around your vehicle and the gate.

We always enjoy our stays in this cozy cottage. Beds are good, kitchen is well equipped and so is the bathroom. And when we are with our family in the big house it’s so convenient.

We always enjoy our stay at Quail Cottage. It's cozy and located in a peaceful area with lots of bird action. The kitchen has all amenities and the beds are cozy, and I love the heated toilet seat haha. It is located up on a ridge above the town, so you are close to all of the services. However you are far enough away that you get a peaceful forest scene without the hustle and bustle of the city.

Overnight on multi-stop trip

Spent the night as we blazed a path across the northwestern US. Accommodations were sufficient for what we needed. Plenty of beds, very quiet neighborhood, and great views. Off the next day to hike Scotchman Peak. I'd recommend the hike, but it is grueling.

Great location

The location is great. The cottage is perfect. We were very concerned about No central A/C with the 100 degree temps but the window unit worked very well as we were gone exploring during the day & it cooled off nicely at night. The amenities were great. Flour, sugar, coffee, cooking spray etc. so nice to have those items in a vrbo. Great stay.

Quail Cottage is located on wooded acreage on a quiet, dead-end street. Situated on a rim lot overlooking the Kootenai River Valley and offering views to the west of the Selkirk Mountains. You'll find a peaceful, private space that will allow you to unwind from your busy city life. Enjoy nature on a bright, sunny day, or relax indoors if the weather turns and watch a storm blow across the valley below.

While the property feels as if it's miles from town, it's only 5 min outside of town. Enjoy a full kitchen for preparing your own meals or visit some of the local restaurants.

A fire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill offer you the option of roasting marshmallows and barbequing burgers for a picnic-table meal, and star-gazing at night. Enjoy watching the neighborhood Deer graze at the perimeter of the fenced 1-acre landscaped lot, and if you're lucky, glimpse the occasional Bald Eagle soaring overhead.
