We loved our stay! Our group was an infant, her parents, who worked remotely in the apartment, and her grandparents.
The location was much better than I expected: you are about a quarter mile from the beach, by way of a paved walkway, boardwalk over a bayou, and shell path through some woods and dunes to the beach. We walked and used a wide-tire beach wagon to carry cooler and chairs etc. The complex has covered parking around the perimeter and then you walk into a series of buildings and landscaped courtyards with the pool/tennis/grilling area at the center. I preferred this to so many places in the area that prioritize parking close to the door above everything; it made the entire complex more quiet and peaceful.
For the infant, each bedroom had a large walk-in closet which provided a quiet dark space for naps and bedtime. The pool is very close to this unit (a private walkway from the porch to the pool deck), and it allowed babies in swim diapers.
For the parents, the wifi was sufficient for one to be on videoconferencing all day while the other worked on email, word-processing, spreadsheet, and pdf documents in the cloud. It was not fast- I ran speedtest and got 16mbps down/ 15 up.
The grandparents appreciated how well run the rental was: it was clean and stocked with the necessities for kitchen, bath, pool, and beach. Plenty of silverware and kitchen gear, plenty of bath and pool towels (plus in-unit washer/dryer), and beach toys and chairs and a cart.
The big drawback at this location was the screen porch which is in such a state of disrepair that allows biting insects to fly in through broken and missing panels and a door that doesn't close. Sanibel is known for no-see-ums, or midges, that are so tiny that you can't feel them land on you but definitely feel them bite! The property owners know this and included a page about no-see-ums in the welcome pack. And the week that we stayed, they were biting- all day- but especially in the evenings. We tried a ceiling fan, citronella candle, and 100% deet spray, but they still got into the porch and still bit. Other units in the apartment complex had refurbished screen porches where people sat and ate. The owners need to repair this porch before I would consider returning.
