Right on the banks of the South Fork of the Rio Grande, this custom log cabin home is big, rustic, and perfect for your family's next vacation to South Fork! This home is tucked into an aspen grove and features an outdoor firepit, three bedrooms with king-size beds and en-suite baths, and a private loft area. Spread out in the living room to watch a good family-friendly movie on the mounted flatscreen TV or to read a favorite book to the kids. You'll love preparing delicious meals in the full kitchen, and the dining table has enough seating for up to eight guests. Take the chill off autumn months with the wood-burning fireplace and the private hot tub. You'll have great river views right from the deck, which your guests will love while they enjoy an al-fresco meal.

What's nearby:
You can enjoy trout fishing right behind the house anytime you like, so remember to bring along your poles! There are also plenty of trails for hiking, ATV, and snowmobiling nearby. Want a break from the kitchen? Visit restaurants like Rockaway Steak House, Mountain Pizza & Taproom, and Shanes Grub Wagon for some delicious local fare.

The hot tub worked great and being by the river was amazing. The home had a wonderful Colorado feel and the fireplace was definitely enjoyed by our party.We had a short 18 mile drive to Wolf Creek. No traffic getting there or coming back.

The Diamond J Riverside cabin was perfect for our family ski vacay! The cabin has a great layout, was clean, and the location was perfect! King size beds. Individual bathrooms. A bunk bed room with it's own bathroom for the kids was wonderful. We will be back!

Year after year

We have stayed at the Diamond J five out of the last six years and have always thoroughly enjoyed it. Brown trout fishing is good steps from the house. We will continue to book the house when ever we can.

Great stay!

The house fit our needs perfectly! Plenty of room for the kids in the bunk room and private rooms for the adults. The kitchen had everything we needed. And relaxing in the hot tub at the end of a long day skiing was fantastic. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Wonderful family getaway

We really enjoyed this sweet house with plenty of room, everything we needed, and just a short 20 minutes to Wolf Creek for skiing. We will definitely be staying here again the future.

Cabin was perfect for our family vacation in the mountains. Location is close to trails and fishing, kitchen is well stocked, and patio / fire pit area was perfect for gathering. Would stay here again.

Seclusion

We all enjoyed the seclusion of the property along a beautiful stretch of the South Fork. The Children enjoyed wading in the river and there is alot of hiking to be done. This is a wonderful property.

Perfect Getaway!

This cabin has the perfect location and is surrounded by pine trees and views galore. The sound of the river at night is peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen and home have everything you would ever need on vacation! Check in and check out was so easy… and the hummingbirds are fun to watch from the beautiful and large surrounding deck. We hated to leave but we’ll be back next year and stay here for sure!!

Perfect for our family vacation!

Enjoyed the location and ease of this property for our family vacation. I think we used every square inch! It was nice to have a private drive so the kids could play on the driveway and ride bikes. The porch and hot tub were perfect for relaxing and enjoying meals together. The surrounding scenery is so pretty and the hummingbirds were regular visitors! The kitchen was well equipped and open to the living room. This property is unique in that it has 4.5 bathrooms which is a great feature! The hosts were responsive when we had requests. Everyone had a great time. We would stay again.

Beautiful, comfy home!

We had a fantastic time here in mid-January. The home was beautiful and the property was spacious and scenic. We were very comfortable with 4 adults and 6 kids. The only feedback I would offer, and the only reason this isn't a 5 star revew, is that it was a bit of a hassle to load up all of the garbage into the back of one of our vehicles and tote it to a real estate office in town before loading the vehicle pre-dawn for the long trip home. I'm not sure if this is standard with VRBO stays, but for being charged a substantial cleaning fee, stripping the beds and transporting our own garbage into town seemed like an unreasonable request. Something to consider. We definitely plan on returning to South Fork!

Peaceful retreat

I reserved this property for a small team retreat. After reading other reviews, I agree the property is much more beautiful once you see it in person! I would have left a five star review for this property, however when we arrived and walked into the home it had a pungent smell of what smelled like a dirty locker room. The floors were spotted with stains in the kitchen and downstairs bathrooms. There were dirty dishes, we went to get platters for food and found dead bugs and old food crumbs in the bottom cabinets and lazy Susan. There was, what looked like chocolate stains on the bathroom carpets and a chocolate wrapper. I reported these issues to Vacasa when they checked in with me. I also received a phone call from the manager personally apologizing. They were extremely responsive and offered to have someone come in to take care of the problems. We had done it ourselves, we just wanted them to know so the next guests wouldn't arrive and have the same experience. Vacasa also offered to waive the cleaning fee for the inconvenience. Once these were taken care of we were able to fully enjoy our peaceful retreat and enjoy the beauty of the cabin and the fall scenery outside! Since Vacasa was so responsive and apologetic, we have confidence this wouldn't happen again and would definitely use this property again! Thank you for your hospitality Vacasa!
