Find sunshine, ease, and beautiful views of the mountains at this classic California bungalow in Palm Springs, where you'll enjoy peace, relaxation, and a short walk or bike ride to the heart of downtown. Here in the tranquil neighborhood of Ruth Hardy Park, you'll be treated to beautiful outdoor spaces made private and peaceful by tall hedges, mature landscaping, and a private swimming pool with an attached spa. Spend your days reading in the swings on the covered porch, barbecuing on the built-in gas grill, dining in the shade of the umbrella, and watching the sunset over the mountains as you gather around the firepit. At night, the two bedrooms are on opposite ends of the house, each paired with its own bathroom, TV, and DVD player.

WHAT’S NEARBY
This home is located in the wonderfully walkable Ruth Hardy Park neighborhood of central Palm Springs, well away from any busy streets and only two blocks from the park itself, where you'll find tennis courts and playgrounds. Palm Canyon Drive - the main strip of downtown Palm Springs known for its excellent dining, shopping, and nightlife - is less than a mile west, and the famous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is only five miles beyond. There are also more than 125 golf courses awaiting in the Palm Springs region, so be sure to bring your clubs!

THINGS TO KNOW
This home is managed by Vacation Palm Springs Real Estate, Inc.
Ooutdoor music is prohibited. Music that is played indoors must not be heard outdoors. City ordinance states that any music that is audible from the property line is a violation. People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
The utility deposit is $1,500 for 28 nights with $375 added for each additional week the guest stays.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.
This rental is located on floor 1.
3 days notification is required in order to heat the pool and pool spa.


Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Lovely Getaway

This property has a lot going for it, and overall, we enjoyed our stay. Except for the occasional airplane taking off, the neighborhood was peaceful and quite. The grounds are spacious, and the kitchen was well-enough equipped to cook in. Unfortunately, there was no garage to get our car out of the sun, and the pictures need to be updated. There was only one umbrella by the pool and one swing on the porch. The pictures show two of each. The main bedroom had very light weight curtains, so it would have been nice to have blackout curtains in there. Communicating with Vacasa is what you can expect from a chatbot. On the other hand, the house was incredibly clean when we arrived.

Great location….property could use some updates and repairs

This was our second stay at Kiwi Cottage for a month-long stay. It appears that there was a flood that caused the floors to warp, and we had to wash the sofa pillow covers , as they had been left outside and were filthy and sun-faded. The shear curtains in the 2nd bedroom kept falling down, as they are missing hardware. There was inadequate silverware, but Vacasa (the management company)took care of that.we had a nice stay regardless.can’t beat the location and the pool is fantastic with its soothing fountain reverberating through the living room!

Old Palm Springs

The property is dated but very clean. Description states that there is a DVD player. There is one but it's in one of the bedrooms and it's attached to a very small TV. We had taken a number of DVD's but couldn't enjoy them. It does include good streaming opportunities. We cooked every day, and the quality of the knives was weak. They need to be sharpened or provide a sharpener. We've stayed in Palm Springs many times at other VRBO properties, and the check in process for this unit was not easy. The shower heads need replacing. Great location if you like proximity to old Palm Springs and its many restaurants.

Many deficiencies

1.AC deficient. Not disclosed. 2. Latch to front gate dangerous (jagged metal) 3. Virtually no hot water from taps. 4. No heat in ensuite nor toilet paper holder. 5. Water pressure fair at best. 6. Toilet handle in ensuite needs repair. 7. No garbage pick up in 2 weeks, 8. Shower takes 3-4 minutes to get hot. 9. Dishwasher does not clean adequately. 10. Base of vanity in bathroom 2 peeling.

Movie Colony Gem!

This was our second trip this summer to kiwi cottage and we will be back… The location is great. Quiet neighborhood and close to the stores and downtown! We took evening walk to Ruth Hardy Park which is not far and enjoyed the pool both day and night. Very private yard and super comfy interior spaces. Kitchen is well stocked as well. That’s always nice because we ate in most nights. Only left for one breakfast, one dinner, and one lunch out. Very relaxing stay❤️

Great cottage

Property was wonderful.local rental reps were very responsive to fix damage to property reported when we arrived. Added cost to heat pool proved to be a good decision as cooler overnite temps effected water temps.palm springs in may was terrific.

We will stay at Kiwi Cottage again

To say we loved our 1 week stay at Kiwi Cottage would be an understatement. The house was perfect for my husband and I. The midcentury modern furnishings were perfect for the home and very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable as well. The kitchen was terrific as we cooked a number of meals during our stay. The front yard is beyond magnificent. The pool and spa were a perfect end to our day. The view of the mountains was spectacular. We loved the privacy in the neighborhood with the fences and high bushes. While we did not use the back yard as much, the landscape was lovely and it was nice to have a table to eat outside. It is a terrific area to walk in. Close to everything we did. We will definately plan a repeat visit.

Great neighborhood. Lovely yard!

All in all the house was great! The yard was huge and perfectly oriented for great sun and shade. As in previous reviews, there are a couple things that could use a little TLC. All of the outdoor landscaping lights were burnt out or broken. The 2nd bedroom has a big closet but it's full of garbage bags full of linen. There is a small chest of drawers in the closet but it is situated sideways and has stuff int front of it so it wasn't easy to get into the drawers. The 2nd bathroom had no counter space for toothbrush etc. A shelf in the bathroom would be a nice addition. These were small things compared to how lovely our stay was! Will definitely recommend this house for location and yard and privacy!

Nice place!

This is a nice house in a nice location. The mountain view from the pool and spa are really beautiful. This is my second time staying here and if I ever return to Palm Springs, I would definitely stay at Kiwi Cottage if possible!

Great outdoor spaces - House needs some love

Overall our experience with Kiwi Cottage was good. However, the condition of the property and cleanliness were average at best. The toilet never stopped running even though a maintenance person temporarily fixed it. I read that this happened in another review and assumed they would have made a permanent fix.

Perfect low key family getaway

We had a great time staying here. It's in a perfect location just a short way from DT. The neighborhood is nice and quiet.. If you plan on staying before May, you definitely need to heat the pool so keep this in mind. Otherwise it's quite cold even though it might be 90 degrees outside.

Luxury getaway

Pool, spa and grounds a major draw...very well maintained. Water toys in the shed! Would have loved a few additions in the kitchen...pasta bowls for pasta, soup, casserole serving, baking sheet for making cookies, pizza, filters for coffee maker. Loved the glassware. Please add a cleaning tool for the barbeque. Having said all this, we will be back; LOVED our stay!!

The jet covers on the Jacuzzi heads are missing so the water shoots up like fountains making it impossible to sit in the jacuzzi and relax, The water never got hot - horrible after having to pay an extra heating fee! rip off thieves! And the Jacuzzi runs so loud its really disturbing. Great place otherwise, but what a rip.

Kiwi Cottage

Our stay here overall was great. However, the toilet on the right side of the house as you walk in runs constantly. Also, my friend in the master bedroom heard some kind of rodent crawling around inside the wall during the early morning hours. Furthermore, on Friday 8/21 at 3:56 PM, one of the sprinkler valve heads burst and lots of water began flowing out from the broken valve head, which we immediately noticed because we were in the pool nearby. My guest was able to turn off the sprinkler system to prevent flooding and property damage, but you should definitely have someone go out there and evaluate the situation. Please note that I already emailed Guest Services at Vacation Palm Springs about the burst sprinkler valve on Friday, August 21, a few hours after it happened. Other than these items, our stay was lovely.

Fun for the Fourth

The Kiwi Cottage was everything we were expecting and hoping for for a nice weekend get away for the holiday. There were two couples in our group, the pool and spa were perfect. Some things in the house and outside of spa are a bit run down. But overall very clean and convenient two bedroom, two bathroom. We utilized the grill and fire pit each of the four nights we were there. We only left the house once to go to the store and once to go hiking. Overall it was such a great weekend and would stay here again! Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. There was coffee available but I recommenced bringing your own!
