Gorgeous Ocean Views - 1 min walk to beach access!
Welcome to "The Pelican" condo in Atlantic Beach, NC. Our place is clean and comfortable and supplied with everything you need including TVs in each bedroom, high-speed wireless internet, and a chef's kitchen. Fresh bed linens are provided free of charge as are bath towels, washcloths, and beach towels - pay attention to other rentals where these items are additional charges. We also do not charge you for additional guests up to the 6 maximum limit. I can't stand staying at places that nickel and dime me with more charges.
See the extensive list below of items you do not have to pack. We are equipped for you to be able to fly in with your personal items and the condo has everything you need for your enjoyment for a week or more at the beach! Also, our place is professionally cleaned and disinfected after each guest stays.
Large open 1-level floor plan (we have an elevator so no stairs required), 3 BR / 2 full bathrooms (2 queen beds and 2 twin). All one level on the 2nd floor of the building with ELEVATOR access. Large chef's kitchen with everything you need to prepare great meals. Open kitchen, dining and family room with lots of light and views of the ocean. Large balcony to enjoy ocean views (ocean views in 9 out of 13 windows).
Our condo community is small, so the pool won't have crowds. Note that only guests accounted for on the guest form, that are staying at the condo, can use the pool. There are only 2 buildings with 9 units each. Our pool is perfect for families with small children or to sun and chill. It is not a party pool.
We are located across the street from the beach with beautiful ocean views and walking distance (1 minute) to 2 beach access points, 3 restaurants, a few shops and a craft beer pub including Molly's Beach Bar & Grill where you can enjoy a light meal or a drink sitting on the DoubleTree Hotel Pier with awesome views.
We bought this place at end of 2020 and decided that we wanted it to be the best of what we have found in other rentals that we have stayed in. In the kitchen, we have spices, seasonings, condiments in the frig, and starter coffee k-cups. We cook - so the kitchen is full of the items you if you want to prepare your favorite meals. We have comfortable furniture to sit on and easy beach access. We have a beach cart to make it easy to bring things from your car up the elevator to the condo (we keep this one sand-free) and we have another one dedicated to the beach to make your beach days easy. We always longed to find a place at the beach that we could rent each year and "know" what we were getting, - and for it to feel like a home away from home. I hope this will meet that for you!
For those who may need to work while here, we have an office chair, small desk setups that can be used, and high-speed wireless internet. I work here for weeks at a time during the off-season of spring and fall.
If you rent our condo, we ask that you respect the peace and privacy of your neighbors. Most of our neighbors live in their condos and do not rent them.
2 PARKING SPACES ONLY: Note that our HOA has restricted us not only to 2 parking spaces per unit but for the same 2 cars only staying at the condo for the duration of your stay. The 2 cars listed on your HOA form are the only 2 cars authorized to be on the property.
A 3rd car is not allowed per HOA rules. We do NOT have space to accomodate a 3rd car - please do not ask and I do not know of any place for the 3rd car to park. Sorry but this happened multiple times last year...
NO PETS: Also note that this is a NO PETS property. Our HOA doesn't allow guest pets and more importantly, I'm highly allergic and have asthma. If you show up with any animal, you will be asked to leave immediately and will incur furniture & carpet cleaning charges (approx $300) and a deep cleaning general clean charge (approx $300) and a lost income charge at $300 per day for the lost income days.

Guests will need to fill out a guest form & the short term lease agreement for the condo association 1 week prior to arrival at the latest so we can email it to the HOA.
This is a keyless property. You get an access code for the condo and the storage room access below on the bottom level and never have to keep up with keys.

We bought the condo in the fall of 2020 in the middle of the first year of covid. I'd been working from home for many months when we decided to take a family beach trip to this area with my grown sons. It was so nice here that we went out looking at condos and this was the 1st place we saw. We immediately loved it. I was looking for a place we could enjoy ourselves for years to come. I now spend weeks each spring and fall at the beach condo enjoying working from the beach with an ocean view and get to go out in the evening to take a beach walk and watch the amazing sunsets from the beach. This is a slice of heaven.

Atlantic Beach is convenient to the triangle area of central NC, and it's a great place to vacation. Beautiful beaches and I love the fact that this island runs east to west and faces south. This gives it the unique setting to see sunrises and sunsets from the beach side of the island during the spring and fall. There are so many outdoor activities to do in this area that we could spend years doing them all.

Great ocean views with sunshine and views from most windows (9 out of 13). Large inviting balcony and on the sand in 1 minute. It's an open floor plan and feels spacious, not cramped like many beach rentals.
After purchasing, we have found even more things to love about this place. It's all 1 level with an elevator - so no stairs. It's convenient to everything and walkable to many places (restaurants and shops). Being a small condo community we don't have to share the pool with many and we never have to fight for parking. Across the street is the doubletree hotel with a terrific pier to watch the sunsets.
