Won’t use Panhandle Getaways again

After Driving 22 hours we were told we couldn’t access room until exactly 4pm. We waited until 4 and then still couldn’t access. Plumber had to fix shower while we were there. Got a text that said he’d be there at noon. He showed up @8:45 while we were getting dressed. Honestly it’s just not worth the hassles.

We had a wonderful beach vacation with the resort we loved being right on the beach with restaurants near by the beds slept great and kitchen was fully stocked we will be back next year 5 stars

Amazing location and facility for a family with kids! My 19 month old LOVED the splash pad pool and we loved the beachside bar service.

Perfect spot for a get away!

The condo and resort was perfect. The condo was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath and had a perfect view of the pool, ocean and beach. I would highly recommend this resort.

Perfect vacay!

We loved staying at this property. Checkin was seamless, as well as checkout! The tiki bar onsite is such a convenient place to grab drinks & food. All in all - would definitely book again!

Fun place to stay!

We had a great trip! Property was clean and we loved the pools. Very short walk to the beach as well! The king sized mattress was very, very firm. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location

We were pleasantly surprised by the views of the ocean. The place was very clean and decorated so nice. The location was so convenient for walking to some of the best restaurants! Would definitely stay here again, thank you from Georgia/Pennsylvania!

Great pools!

Property is a little run down and could use some improvements but overall good, location is good, tiki bar is awesome, and pools are nice, especially the two in the shade that stay cool through the day.

We stayed at this property for a month. The view was awesome. The amenities were what was advertised. We had a few problems and the response was very prompt. We would stay there again!

Great location

We loved the condo! The location is great. The view of the ocean is wonderful. The condo was stocked well with everything we needed to cook with. The condo was very clean. We loved having 2 pools. They never felt overcrowded. We highly recommend this condo!!

Great location

Nicely decorated. Plenty of supplies to get you started- dishwasher detergent, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper. You may need to get more during ur stay. No tents or easy ups allowed on beach. You can NOT set up in front of rental chairs. This makes it hard to watch your kids in the water.

Great location

The condo needed maintenance and a heavy cleaning but was a great location. The resort was good but they did not have any type of gift shop to buy small necessities and the 2 food locations closed at 4pm which meant you had to leave the property to eat or buy groceries and cook yourself, not what I want to do on vacation. Overall, we had a great time at the beach with really good access to it!

Great stay

Pros- Great property, very clean, lots of amenities right on site or close by. Pools were awesome. Right on the beach. Great view of ocean from the balcony. Would definitely stay again!! Cons- listing said slept 7, but only sleeps 6. They were awesome about getting us a blow up mattress and late check in to make up for it! Only other down fall is the chair rentals on the beach, they run 4 deep so you can’t really see the beach from your rented chair. Still an amazing property and would definitely stay again!! Totally recommend!

only reason they didn't get 5 stars because smaller bedroom bathroom had a horrible sewer smell that was unbearable at times we brought candles to offset smell but it was really bad.

Great Labor Day vacation

My husband and I enjoyed a week with friends - this was our first trip. Great beach view, pool, tiki hut and location near restaurants. We were able to rent chairs and umbrella from the vendor who had everything set everyday at 9am sharp. The condo was very pretty and had plenty of room for 4 adults. The grocery store was close by so we were able to balance eating in versus eating out. Staff was friendly at the resort and condo was very cleaned. we would recommend this property.

Great Location on the Beach!

The pictures and the view from the balcony that was online was exactly what it looked like. Even though we were on the 5th floor the elevators are never very far from any of the condos. We had two small kids and it worked great for us. You are right across the street from Big Kahunas water park. You come down the elevator and walk out the back door and there are two pools on each side and in a few steps there is a tiki bar, which was great and there is a short walkway and you walk right onto a beautiful private beach.

Nice. Clean. Better than Expected.

Pelican Beach Resort itself was very nice. Upon arriving we noticed the pretty, clean lobby and the staff was friendly. I was pleasantly surprised with the updated living room furniture when we got into our condo. It was clean, simply decorated and comfortable. The view was nice, however My only concern is that it might not be as relaxing during the busy season. The balcony is over the outdoor pool and the noise could be overwhelming if it were busy. We enjoyed our stay though, no complaints and would book this condo again!

We enjoyed Destin very much! However, I have a few complaints about the property. 1) The smell emanating from the spare bathroom was awful. We opted to not even try to use it. 2) Both bathrooms were dirty when we arrived. The spare bathroom had a very large bug in it. When I say large, around 3-4” in length. The property management company bent over backwards to make our stay as good as they could, but the bathroom smell never went away. One last thing to note, the resort DOES NOT allow use of the four post tents on their beach. You need to bring your own beach umbrella and beach chairs or rent the chairs and umbrellas the property has for $38/day. The area is wonderful, but I will not stay here again.

Family vacation

Our family enjoyed our time at the beach. The room was decorated as shown in the pictures and the location to the beach and restaurants was perfect. Staff was friendly. We’ve stayed at Pelican before and this condo was better than our previous stay even though the resort looks fairly dated in areas. There were a few things during our stay that didn’t really dampen our fun such as the dryer lint screen was not working and I had to spend 20 minutes the first use cleaning it with a vacuum before using it and each time after each use and the sprinkler head in front bedroom started leaking. I texted the owner and maintenance was called immediately but they didn’t arrive until the next morning. They said the sprinklers had been shut off for over a month. They looked at it and left. It didn’t leak anymore during our stay but if I was the condo owner I would want a more thorough inspection of why it was leaking. The noise level during the night was sometimes loud but we turned on the box fans to mute some of the noise. The owner and Panhandle were prompt to answer my calls and text and were very courteous ! Overall we had a fun filled trip!!!!

Girls trip was relaxing and cozy!

Condo was wonderful! Very clean and had all that we needed for our stay. The view was fantastic! Close to shops and dining. Couldn’t have ask for a better trip!
