This is a large house in an ideal jungle location. There is no shortage of wildlife, we were visited everyday by troops of Howler monkeys, white faced monkeys and even some spider monkeys.

This is a lovely Costa Rican home with lots of steps and interesting corners. We loved seeing the great green macaws every day and we also spotted a sloth up the road. The home is ideal for an adventurous younger couple or family with older kids.

Great house close to many things

Great experience for our first trip to Costa Rica! The house is open & comfortable. The outdoor patio is awesome. We woke up with parrots and howler monkeys talking in the forest around the house.

Perfect location and residence!

This house was everything the description says it is and more! Perfect location for all the adventures we wanted to do. Beaches, kayaking, jungle tour, jaguar rescue center, soaking up the sun, beautiful weather and the beautiful culture! We will be back!

Amazing Jungle Stay

This home is truly wonderful and we recommend it highly. It was a delight to be woken each morning by the howlers. There were three different types of monkeys that passed by here nearly every day and ample opportunities for incredible birdwatching.Although it is not far from the main road and beach we did find the hike up the hill difficult at times, but quickly learned that it is easy to grab a lift via tuk from the corner store. :)

Costa Rica Magic

Loved the house and the location up in the jungle. Lots of wildlife in the backyard. Its’s definitely an adventure getting up and down the steep road to the house. We did it on foot in about 10 minutes each way. The house feels like a tree house which we loved and is well appointed with beds that are comfy. That said fair warning the ship ladder style stairs are not for the faint of heart. Overall a wonderful stay and we would do it again in a heart beat.

Beautiful Home

If you want the opportunity to see wild life from the comfort of your VRBO, then this is the place for you. We saw toucans, great green macaws, howler monkeys, and even spider monkeys (we were told these are rare to see in the wild). House is perfect for our family! Only issue we had was during check in with the people that live on property. They said they were not aware we were coming, and we were unable to check in until 7 pm. Not a big deal but we had just drove 6 hours from pacific side. Overall, we would 100% stay here again!

Besser als auf den Fotos

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus war noch besser als auf den Bildern. Wenn mal ein Probleme aufgetreten ist, wurde sofort geholfen. Das war die beste Unterkunft, die wir in Costa Rica hatten. Wir würden gern wieder kommen.

Fantastic location

We had a wonderful experience. The house is gorgeous, light and airy with plenty of outdoor space to sit and lounge and a functional, well-equipped kitchen. The beautiful and quiet beach is an easy 10 minute walk from the house. The keepers live on the property and are super helpful. The owner was extremely responsive and provided tons of helpful information and recommendations. We saw maquaws and toucans right from the porch. The road to the house is unpacked and a bit steep, we didn’t mind having a car with a bit higher clearance.

Unique house with incredible wildlife viewing

This property is perfect for the nature lover. We saw macaws, howler monkeys, a toucan, geckos, and many more amazing animals right from the hammock. The house was clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable getaway (including laundry). It is a very cozy and unique house that is set up really well for two couples as the bedrooms are very separate. The hill up to the property is no joke, especially with backpacks, but it’s entirely worth it to be a bit away from the main road. We travelled here with our 6 year old with no car and it was no problem. You can even rent bicycles at the bottom of the hill to make it easier to get around. If biking isn’t your thing, you can always catch a tuk tuk on the main road. I would absolutely recommend this accommodation, and will be back if the opportunity comes again.

Traumhaus im Dschungel

Wir waren mit 2 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern für 5 Tage in Marias Haus. Der Weg ist etwas steil und holprig, aber es lohnt sich. Alles ist sehr offen und man hat einen schönen Blick in die Natur. Wir haben die Abende auf der freien Veranda genossen. Morgens kann man Papageien und Brüllaffen lauschen und Kolibris im Garten beobachten. Man ist zu Fuß oder mit dem Auto schnell am Playa Punta Uva, einer der schönsten Strände überhaupt. Geschäfte und Restaurants sind ebenfalls schnell erreichbar. Es war wunderschön hier. Jederzeit wieder.

Sehr schönes Haus, in toller Umgebung

Das Haus ist sehr schön und bietet viel Platz für 4 oder 5 Personen. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und die beiden Schlafbereiche haben jeweils eine eigenes Bad mit Dusche. Der Außenbereich bietet sehr viel Freiraum und die Hängematten sind einfach toll. Lediglich eine Klimaanlage im Schlafbereich fehlt und wäre ein sehr gute Ergänzung.

So beautiful

This place is huge for starters. It definitely felt like overkill only having two of us stay, but everything is so beautiful. If you're not looking for a little adventure though, maybe stay in a Hilton or something, but for my money this is the place. Comfortable, clean, interesting architecture, and the occasional monkey or raccoon making some noise on the roof. We loved it and are already trying to plan our next trip back. One word of advice that kind of goes for all of CR is a 4*4 vehicle would have been greatly helpful navigating the road up to the property. The car we had was not happy about a few of the ruts. Anyway, book this place. You'll love it.

Rising Home on the Hill

We loved staying at this home in the Punta Uva area. It is an interesting and well crafted home; beautiful wood throughout, lovely and fun bathrooms, and the porches and windows are the BEST. I also really enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, with the windows wide open. I had an easy time cooking meals with just about anything I needed present. Great to have a clothes washer to use! The owner and caretaker were helpful, kind, and responsive as well. I would recommend this home to those who are one or two couples on a trip, or a small family (4). Nearby restaurants were good (try Selvin's), and easy to grocery shop in the nearby villages.... if there is no drinking water at the house, you can borrow the 5 gallon container and take it to a local shop to trade in for the next bottle. Finally, we really loved the monkeys, the birds!!!!!, and being in the forest rather than right on the beach. The beach area to the north of Punta Uva is a little bit of a scene, though Punta Uva is quiet and peaceful; for us, we loved being up the hill (yes it is steep but very walkable) from the beach as it is true that we got cooling breezes that one would not experience beach side. We also stayed on the Pacific side of CR on our trip, and for our next visit to CR, we will skip that, and head right to the Caribbean and this house. We had a very peaceful, wonderful stay in this lovely home. One last word to anyone driving here: there is crazy truck traffic from San Jose to Limon on HWY32. As you get closer to Limon you can avoid some of it by taking the little cut off side road (I think it is #270 or #271) from HWY 32 south to Santa Rosa and Beverly, then rejoin coastal HWY 36. This will spare you the parking lot effect of massive numbers of semi-trucks entering Limon. Once you get to the coast, and headed south, the road is excellent and the vibe much more peaceful and easy going.

Nos encantó la casa

Pasamos unas vacaciones inolvidables, la casa es muy privada, tiene una vista espectacular de la selva, queda muy cerca de la playa, restaurantes y mercados, Miguel nos ayudó mucho durante nuestra estancia. Definitivamente volveremos. Ya habíamos rentado en Punta Uva en 6 ocasiones anteriores pero creo que la casa de la trepada fue la mejor
