Almost Heaven! A charming cabin on the creek walk to town with spa

Almost Heaven is a charming “old Idyllwild” cabin located on Strawberry Creek. Walking distance from town, you can meander along the creek and be in town in 5 minutes or walk along the road and arrive in 10.

The original cabin was built in 1923 and expanded over the years to four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It’s the perfect size for families or groups of friends. Spacious yet warm and inviting. The back deck is surrounded by nature on all sides. Looking out over a grove of trees, you can hear the soothing sounds of the seasonal Strawberry Creek. The backyard is park like and expansive, stretching from the deck through the trees to the creek.

The grand room, centered around a brick fireplace, is furnished with handmade, vintage cedar couches and chairs, a game table and a beautiful, hand-carved cedar dining table. There is also a 65” smart TV for snuggling up and watching your favorite TV show or movie. This grand room allows families the space to be together yet plenty of room to do different activities.

The very well-equipped kitchen is also a cozy gathering place with a Franklin stove, a coffee bar and an expandable vintage table with leaves right inside the table - way cool! A big picture window brings nature right inside this comfy room with access to a sizable back deck, equipped with a jacuzzi for enjoying the starlit nights. There is also a 12’ cedar picnic table that will accommodate a large group. Or you can sit on the porch swing and enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. A barbecue is available to guests, as well as a washer/dryer located in a small utility room on the deck.

The front porch catches the early sunlight and is a delightful spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. We think the name “Almost Heaven” fits this very special cabin perfectly!


Bedroom #1 - King bed in a very large room with a cozy sitting area, jack and jill bathroom shared with Bedroom #2
The 3rd bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower is located between the grand room and the kitchen.

Bedroom #2 - Two double beds with jack & jill bathroom shared with Bedroom #1.

Bedroom #3 - Queen bed with rustic pine frame and cozy sitting area, also deck side (note: bathroom is accessible through Bedroom #2 or off-deck, through kitchen)

Bedroom #4 - King bed and private bath that looks out onto the deck.
