I don’t know how else to describe this property. The grounds are amazing, the linens clean, the counters spotless, and there are bugs - specifically spiders in nearly every corner of the house. Luckily my two little boys turned it into a game while Dad and I were less thrilled with their kill counts it was kind of “ok”.
However, we left some hotdog buns, in a bag, and a bottle of kids Tylenol on a counter for a day and came back after visiting family to ants all over the counter, all over the bag, all over the Tylenol, and more spiders that moved in to areas previously inhabited by those we massacred. I messaged the owner to let them know, but after traveling to Andrew’s for literally my entire 40 years of existence (family is all from that area) I know mountains attract bugs, but the level of spiders in this home is indicative of a larger problem and ants can be combated.
The donkeys, the goats, the mini horse, and the fishing - all outdoor activities were fantastic. It is absolutely gorgeous property and it is so disappointing that the detail of dusting or getting in the corners of the house was left undone. The location is superb as my grandparents owned a home just down the road and my father grew up in that area. We love this area and exploring new options for visiting our remaining family in the area, but this will not be a return location.
We left a day early because it was just too much and with Covid being what it is we were not interested in trying to work something out that should have been addressed prior to our stay.
I messaged through VRBO before we left for our vacation and asked about a coffee pot vs a keurig and never heard back. In addition I messaged when we left early and have not heard back. The property is gorgeous, truly and oasis but our uninvited roommates ruined the trip.
