Get away from the hustle bustle and relax with nature. Farm house is nestled near the Wayne National Forest and historic Marietta, Ohio. Also just 1 mile from Grizer Castle. This old farmhouse has been opened up and has a spacious first floor with two bedrooms on the second level. Der Bauernhof is the name of this quaint old farm house. Take a hike or sit on the deck and watch the deer, turkeys and numerous birds. We have created a pond and stocked it with many varieties of fish. If you’re interested in fishing, let me know and we’ll be able to assist you. Our newest addition are two Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Thor & Loki.

It's amazing how Cynthia and Kevin have transformed this property! The house is beautiful and comfortable, nature is right in your backyard, and everything is so peaceful. Perfect for those looking for quiet and privacy while enjoying the mid-Ohio valley. I also highly recommend it for anyone attending an event at Grizer Castle!

Nice house and amazing property.

This location is very secluded and peaceful. The house was clean, cozy and stocked well if you happened to forget some essentials. The property itself was amazing. Beautiful views of the hillside, trees, pond and castle. We saw tons of wildlife during our stay as well. It was a perfect weekend reset. Looking forward to staying here again.

Family Fun Time

We had an amazing stay. Very helpful host. Well equipped kitchen. Lots of natural beauty, wildlife, and trails to enjoy. Close to Marietta if you want to spend some time in a great little town, but plenty of space to unwind and just connect with your tribe if you want to stay put.

Tucked in gem of a place!

What a wonderful, spacious home with more room than the photos do justice. Everything worked well, the living room was comfortable for me and my three hiking buddies.After hiking the Archers Fork Loop okay another 7 miler trail -way underestimating the distance to hike-coming back and making a beautiful dinner and chilling with friends was fantastic. And I loved the goats!Highly recommended. I am almost certain I will be back there.

Several families and friends were getting together for a golf outing. We loved it here. Lots of outdoor space to relax and enjoy. Our questions were answered quickly and even suggestions from the host we hadn’t thought about. We hope to get everyone together and stay again next year.

Long weekend

The house was easy to find. Off the beaten path but very nice. The house was very clean and well stocked if you forgot any toiletries. They have it well decorated to suit the country charm that is the house. There are board games available and plenty of movies to watch. The yard was well groomed for our arrival. I would recommend that you check out this property if your in the neighborhood and need a place to stay.

Enjoyable and peaceful stay

Our first time using Vrbo and everything was just as it is advertised. We stayed here a week during Thanksgiving to visit local family. It was perfect for our needs. The owners did a great job of decorating and adding details to make things go smoothly. Our boys enjoyed the trails and exploring the property. The views are beautiful from every room. Amazing Stay, Lovely Home with Amazing Property

First thing we see coming in was deer and other wildlife. Amazing views around the property. Home was lovely and had everything we needed. Very cozy, love the views from the windows. Got to explore some of the trails they had on their property. And have a nice fire pit to keep warm in the backyard at night. A nice country side getaway. Nice and quiet away from the city. Definitely would book here again when coming to the Historic Marietta area.

Awesome Place To Stay!

This place is so quiet and peaceful. Great place to relax, very private. Lots of wildlife. We were fortunate that the big mimosa tree was blooming this week. It was COVERED in butterfly's and hummingbirds. Very helpful and accommodating owner's.

Exactly What They Promised!

My fiance and I needed a quick trip away from the day-to-day hustle and bustle so we decided to take a drive down to Whipple, OH. We have been to other VRBO's that promised serenity and nature views but then would end up being in someone's neighborhood. This place really delivered on their promise! Beautiful views, plenty of space for nature hikes, and privacy galore! The house was very clean, well maintained, and very nicely decorated. I definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a peaceful night away in nature.
