Gorgeous Adirondack Rustic style townhome with three floors of living space; located in Lake Placid. The Balsams Townhomes are within walking distance to the Horseshow Grounds, Ironman course & adjacent to the John Brown & Henry’s Woods Trail systems. We are1 mi. from Adk Loj Rd. High Peaks Wilderness and there are 3 golf courses all within a 5-minute drive!

The main level features a large foyer with tiled floors, full closets, and a half bath; a Chef’s kitchen with stainless steel appliances, wood cabinetry, granite countertop & wine cooler. The open floor plan is perfect for entertaining with a great room offering a floor-to-ceiling gas stone fireplace, cathedral ceiling, and a full wall of windows giving great views and natural light. The dining area opens to a screened porch and open deck with gas grill; the open handcrafted log stairway leads to the master bedroom with a private bath includes a deep soaking tub and glassed/tiled shower; guest bedroom with private full bath and open loft sitting area that overlooks the great room.

The lower level includes a third bedroom, a family room, a utility room with a washer/dryer, and a full bath with a glassed shower. Abundant mowed fields and grass areas for playing outside. Wi-Fi is available throughout. Extremely well-maintained property.

Had a wonderful time on our family trip to Lake Placid! The house was perfect for our needs. Location is convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Loved all the different seating areas too! I would have no hesitation staying there again and would recommend it to my friends

Quiet, cozy townhome near Lake Placid

Rustic Way townhome was very clean, quiet, cozy, and comfortable. The furnishings and decor made us feel right at home in the Adirondacks! Everything needed was provided. Highly recommend!

Wonderful home!

We had a wonderful time at this well appointed home. The fireplace was fantastic as it was chilly at night . The house was close to everything we wanted to see and do in Lake Placid. It was perfect for 6 although we were just 4 so lots of room. We especially enjoyed the screened porch. I would definitely recommend this lovely home.

Luxuriously Rustic

This Beautiful Condo is decorated smartly with Adirondack charm and comfort. Everything about it was perfect and very well done. The location was quiet and lovely, tucked away in the woods but still close to town. Couldn't make a stronger reccommendation; I hope we can come back again soon.

Spectacular!

We enjoyed everything about the house. It was a perfect fit for our family while we visited Lake Placid for the weekend. We were there to support our son competing in the Ironman, The house gave us lots of space to spread out and so that our athlete could have quiet space to himself. Everything in the pictures of the home are accurate. We were very comfortable. Would stay again if in the area.

Great place

We stayed there for the lacrosse tournament. Great location and very nice place. We sat on the patio on evening and got a note the next morning asking us to “not have large groups in the property”, which we didn’t…we had 3 of us and had 3 friends come over for dinner. If you stay, please be mindful this is a quiet group of homes, which we respect, and made an extra effort to watch out noise levels after dark after getting the message. Regardless, very nice place and I recommend it.

High Quality Rental-Tastefully Decorated

Rented this property for our annual family fall hiking trip….and it was a winner!!! The property description is extremely accurate and is even better than described. The home is tastefully decorated, the quality of the furnishings is comfortable & of high quality, and rooms are bright and sunny! The property is extremely clean & well appointed. There is plenty of storage space for hiking gear & jackets and there are lots of little conveniences (games, fondue pots, & a flashlight !). The kitchen has plenty of counter space, a large fridge/freezer, a nice gas range with a good working oven, and a lovely dining table (with a beautiful vase of fresh sunflowers …how nice!!). Although, the kitchen was not as well-stocked as some of our previous rentals (I follow the Girl Scout rule and always come prepared….good thing I brought my own sheet pans as there were no baking sheets for the oven that we could find). The master bedroom has a fabulous mattress AND two extra wool blankets (instead of those uncomfortable polyester blankets that most rentals feature), PLUS blackout curtains for a good night’s sleep! Closet space is generous enough in all rooms and the bathrooms are modern/clean (could use extra towels). Bonus: each bedroom features a private bathroom AND there is an additional powder room off the kitchen near the front door (very convenient). The house has a good heating/cooling/air exchange system. There were many thoughtful features…we especially appreciated that every light switch and control is clearly labeled (great idea for a rental!). The property owner was very easy to communicate with and made every effort to accommodate our needs; in fact, she even provided us a discount towards our fee since the fireplace wasn’t working during our stay (while disappointing, the refunded amount made up for it). We also enjoyed using the screened-in porch every afternoon after we returned from hiking (great place to enjoy a cocktail and watch the sunset through the trees). We had a few very minor complaints…the downstairs bedroom features an extremely firm mattress (could possibly benefit from a foam topper?), and the downstairs bedroom/family room area does have a slightly damp smell (we find this in almost all of the Lake Placid rentals that have lower level rooms). This was not a game-changer for us since the rest of the rental was so much nicer than most of the units we’ve rented in the past. We highly recommend this rental!

Beautiful Townhouse

The property was clean, roomy and extremely comfortable. It is a cozy, rustic townhouse with a open living space with several porches and decks. We loved the large bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. We also appreciated the modern laundry facilities and extra living room on the lower level. Cammy was extremely responsive and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful getaway

We were extremely happy with everything about this beautiful home. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable relaxing vacation. The screened porch was wonderful, especially in mornings and evenings. The location is very convenient to town and hikes, but also off the main path and so peaceful at night. Finally the decor is indeed beautiful and perfectly captures the spirit of the mountains.

Classy townhouse near town for family getaway!

Roomy, modern, classy townhouse in a quite setting near downtown Lake Placid. 3 bedrooms with 3.5 baths couldn't have been more convenient for our family of 5 (with 3 adult children). The space could easily accommodate more than the 6 people allowed but we were glad to have the extra space. Large kitchen with bfast bar open up to a dining area and living room with cathedral ceiling. We loved the screened porch leading to a deck on the main level facing the woods. Lower level included a bdrm, bath, and large seating/TV area which opened to another outside porch. Air conditioning in upstairs bdrooms was a nice plus -- main floor and lower level stay cool, even on very hot days. We will DEFINITELY stay here again when we're back in LP!

Adirondack Retreat

This is a beautiful Adirondack home with comfortable, luxurious furniture and wonderful decorative accents with amazing art work from local artists. There was wonderful attention to detail and has so many comforts of home. The location is incredible and close to nature trails, Olympic venues, and historic sites. It was a very relaxing place and we would love to return soon!

Beautiful

Private and peaceful. Great location, especially for horse show grounds. We would absolutely stay there again. Perfect Adirondack style makes you feel immersed in all of its natural beauty. The owners thought of everything that would be needed to make it the perfect place!

As a local born and raised in the area, I know first-hand how fortunate I am to call this home! I (Cammy) am a professor at NCCC and Guy is a ski coach at Whiteface Mt. During the summer, we are spending our time nearby at a family camp while Guy works as a Lake Manager. We are avid skiers, hikers, paddlers, and outdoor enthusiasts who work toward maintaining this beautiful region for our children's children to love and appreciate. Much of our family are here and we are so lucky to live and play in such a special place!

The Balsam Townhomes are a very special spot as it is a community of homeowners who appreciate and respect the property and work together to maintain an atmosphere of quiet serenity. The Balsams is situated in a perfect location to being able to walk out your door to miles of hiking/walking trails, a very short drive to three golf courses, and a host of great restaurants. It is living in a tourist town, without all the noise associated!
