Looking for the that special SUMMER VACATION. A place where you can enjoy time with family and friends. Magnolia Shores is calling you down to the Rivah. Close to home but a world away. This year we are offering two beautifully appointed homes, separated by a newly installed outdoor pool.

"Magnolia Shores" is comprised of two pristine waterfront homes that you'll have all to yourself. The homes are located on Back Creek near the historic town of Reedville, Virginia. From the upper deck of the two-story home, you can see the Little Wicomico River, which empties into the Chesapeake Bay.

When you're ready to come inside and relax. Each beautiful, appointed home offers four bedrooms and three baths. In house #1, three bedrooms and two baths are located in the upstairs living area. Downstairs you will find a fourth walk-out bedroom and bath. The downstairs game room includes a pool table, dart board and an air hockey game room. Outdoor games and equipment are located in the equipment room. House #2 has all living areas located on one floor. Enjoy your morning coffee on one of the decks and watch the wildlife in the tidal area. You'll spend the day creating memories as you, crab and fish off a private dock. Bring your own equipment or use ours. There are two paddleboards, two kayaks, two child kayaks and a canoe available. Imagine paddle boarding the quiet coves of Back Creek or kayaking the Little Wicomico River when the water is as still as glass. You can also bring your own boat or take a local charter and enjoy the splendor of the bay.

Magnolia Shores has two fully stocked kitchens, and you can also enjoy cooking and dining outside. Dining tables, and propane grills are available for fresh-air meals. After a long day on the water, enjoy the sunset with family, friends and a cocktail on the dock. As the sun sets and stars appear, gather around the fire pit. Remember what it is like to roast marshmallows and view the brilliant night sky, unspoiled by city lights.

Whether you are outside enjoying the yard games and the water or inside enjoying board games and modern comfort, there are activities for all. You'll also love taking the time to explore numerous local restaurants, attractions, historic sites and parks that can be found in Northumberland County. Let Magnolia Shores and the gorgeous surrounding area be your home away from home.

This property served our needs very well. We had people aged 6 months to almost 91 years old and everybody enjoyed themselves. Plenty of space to be together or slip away for a nap. The owners were available and helpful whenever they were needed (not to mention friendly and generous with their hospitality - allowing us to pick some garden produce!). Highly recommend.

Highly recommend

This was our second year vacationing at this property. The Owner does a good job...very responsive. Plenty of pool toys, grills, cooking utensils for all grills, a crab pot. Crabbing is great. Many fun inside games (our week was very hot). Takes care of pool and trash daily. Always upgrading the property. Enabled our multi-generational family to reconnect. It's great. Highly recommend.

Great House!

We had a great stay. The home was spacious for our large group. The house had so much to do. We especially enjoyed the pool. We also enjoyed the kayaks and conoes as well as the yard games. The hummingbirds were a treat!

Great family retreat

Magnolia is a beautiful property for a multi-generational getaway. The river is at your back door and the pool is a great addition to the property to cool off after spending hours in the river.

Large Family Vacation

I have six children and four grandchildren. All but one made it to our week in Virginia at Magnolia Shores. It was a great vacation. Lori was wonderful. The two houses supplied EVERYTHING we needed from kayaks to games to toys to cooking. Don't worry about bringing life preservers.... there is every size needed available. ( and swimmies for the pool! ) Lori even supplied chicken legs to bait the crab traps that gave use dinner one night. It was secluded but ten minutes to a small store or dinner at a nice restaurant. The game room kept us busy when it was too hot or too rainy to be outside. TVs were in every room. It was better than home! There were many meeting places for the whole group and small areas for gathering too. Beds were VERY comfortable. Garden areas were beautiful and bright. Sand pit for the sand castle building crew. Fire pits for at night. Grilling and crab/corn steaming areas were used often. Lots of parking. Oh and the pool was great! Shallow end for the little ones, but lots of room for the adults. GREAT Vacation!

Can’t wait to come back!!

We had an amazing time. The houses were beautiful and clean. The pool was so relaxing. Went kayaking and canoeing for the first time and had a blast. Caught so many crabs we took over 3 Dozen home after eating them for a night. Lori and Tom are amazing people and everyone had such a great time we are planning on coming back again and again.

Great Place for Family Getaway

My family had a wonderful time here! There was plenty of space to accommodate all 9 of us. Loved the view, having access to kayaks, paddle boards and of course the pool. Lori and Tom were great. Responded promptly to any questions we had and an overall sweet couple/hosts.

Family vacation

The property was the perfect fit for our 12 person extended family. The eight bedrooms spread over 2 adjacent properties with a amazing swimming pool between the two houses provided our family enough room for everyone. We enjoyed crab picking and canoeing. The secluded location is perfect for a family wanting to get away from it all.

Magnolia Shores was just the relaxing vacation we were looking for.

Loved the pool, fresh crabs and use of the kayaks. This was a great place to kick back and relax. The house was clean and well stocked. Views from the deck were peaceful. The kids enjoyed the outdoor games and the pool table. The crab traps were a nice touch and had the freshest crabs I have every ate. Lori the owner was very helpful.

Great week at Magnolia Shores!

My family and I had a great week at Magnolia Shores. Tom and Lori were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The house was spotless and had plenty to keep all ages busy. The use of kayaks, canoe, and the dock were great, and the pool was amazing!

Relaxing

Very relaxing. Quiet cove was a perfect spot to keep our boat for day excursions on the bay. The dock was well built and the water was deep enough to safely enter end exit. The view from the upper deck was great and there were fans overhead and shades to help with the hot evenings.

Family vacation

Perfectly appointed home for families with plenty to do at property with kayaks, lovely pool, 2 outdoor decks overlooking water, pool table, darts, with hockey, pool toys!! Relax and enjoy all the amenities

Property on quiet river, beautiful views. Caught enough crabs to enjoy two times for those who are patient enough to pick. Kitchen well stocked. Pool toys, chairs, lounges aplenty. Beds comfortable. Paddleboards, canoes, etc. enough for all to enjoy. Two homes worked well for our multi-age family. Game room an extra plus. TVs in most BR. Come and enjoy.

Great stay

The home and location are beautiful. We loved reading on the dock and swimming in the heated pool. The hosts live next door and are very hands on. They came over to check on us when we sent a question about check out. We had a great time and hope to be back soon! Note - the pool does not have a fence so might not be the best spot for families with toddlers

Amazing Vacation!

Our large extended family just returned from a wonderful stay at this property! The houses were clean, well stocked, and very spacious! We enjoyed fishing from the dock, using the canoes and kayaks and the pool! There were plenty of pool, outdoor games and life vests for everyone included. Lori and Tom were very communicative and helpful during our stay. Lori came each morning to clean the pool, and most of us were still sleeping and it did not interrupt us in the least. We look forward to returning again!

Peace and quiet

This property was exactly what my husband and I wanted. Peace and quiet on the water. The house is lovely. The linens and towels are fantastic. Lori met us when we pulled in the driveway. She is friendly and accessible but we didn't need anything. Everything was in the house and she even made brownies for us.

Beautiful home in a serene location

Magnolia Shores is the perfect place to stay if you're looking to relax from life's stresses. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted and assured that this home was our home for the week. This beautiful house, immaculate throughout, came with all the amenities to gratify everyone in our party. There are plenty of water activities to choose from. One of greatest features of this property is the ability to go crabbing from the pier, and trust me, the catch is plentiful. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation, Magnolia Shores will not disappoint.

Discovery & Rest

The property was lovely and looked as advertised in the pictures. The kitchen was beautiful and well appointed with spices and cooking utensils. The hosts even left me a sweet treat which came in handy since I arrived late. About arriving late, it was dark! Mike gave me excellent directions, left the light on, and stayed on the phone with me to make sure I arrived safely. Mike & Lori were great hosts with a lovely home!! I'd stay here again for sure!

Peaceful property

WOW what a week we had!!! Weather was perfect and our stay was just wonderful. The house is as equipped as described (we usually travel with EVERYTHING….. no need here!!! The kitchen had it all!!) We kayaked almost every day the men crabbed everyday and did we feast on the crabs!!!! We utilized the pool everyday which was awesome… Fire pit at night or just sitting under the twinkling lights. We saw turtles hummingbirds herring and even a bald eagle a day. Tom and Lori are GREAT hosts…. Lori was there everyday taking care of the pool garbage/recycling the garden and was very informative of the area and property. Not much off the property to do (we did go out to dinner once…….& some loved their daily trip to the dollar stores) BUT to stay and enjoy was Incredible. Did I mention how peaceful it was!!! I enjoyed my coffee out on the dock every morning and it was so serene GREAT way to start my day!!! We would highly recommend this property!!! BIG THANKS Tom and Lori this was quite the memorable vacation for the family!!!

Wonderful place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here! My husband and I brought our three kids ages 6, 9 and13 as well as our parents and when we arrived we were greeting with a pan of brownies which was so sweet!! There was lots of things for everyone to do. We went crabbing from the dock and caught enough crabs to eat for dinner one night. The kids loved the pool which had lots of pool toys and plenty of life jackets for all ages. There were kayaks provided to take out on the bay, and the game room was lots of fun with the pool table, air hockey table and corn hole boards for outside. The bike riding was fantastic with very little traffic and lots of little communities to explore. There’s a beautiful view from the upstairs deck with fans and shade to keep cool. The house was gorgeous and very accommodating with modern amenities and very comfortable beds. Tom and Lori are awesome! They were very attentive to anything we needed and so friendly. We highly recommend staying here! Thank you Tom and Lori for sharing your home with us.

Dissappointed

Advertised as a 4-bedroom, 3-bath home but 4th bedroom is basement and is unfinished as well as unfinished attached bath. All windows on water side of house have no window coverings so 95 degree sunny days blaze thru the windows. House has BBQ but no ignitor or BBQ tools. All living is on 2nd floor so older relatives had to carry luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Wasps nests in unfinished porch lights on 2nd floor balcony. We will not be returning nor we will we refer anyone else to this vacation house.

PERFECT VACATION

There were 8 of us aged 18 to 68 and everyone thought this was our best vacation ever. There was plenty to keep everyone busy and nobody wanted to leave to go check out other nearby attractions. Lori and Tom were excellent hosts. Lori cleaned the pool every morning so it was always sparkling clean even after it stormed. The pictures and description did not reflect how great the place was. There were all kinds of indoor and outdoor games. We used both daily. The kitchen was also very well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. There was plenty of towels so we weren't doing laundry daily. Everyone had fun catching crabs and by the end of the week we had enough to steam. There was more than enough for everyone and the best part was that we caught all of them on the dock! Even though we go to a different state every year everyone agrees that they would like to go back to Magnolia Shores again. I highly recommend this property. It truly does have something for everyone. It won't disappoint.
