We stayed here for one night to be able to shower after biking in Fruita and then drink at our favorite distillery on our way home to Denver. For that purpose, it was fine. Had I been alone, I would have thought otherwise. The listing does say this is an attached guest house, but I didn't realize it was connected to the owner's house via a door by the kitchenette. You can hear the owner(s) pretty clearly. The kitchenette was tiny, so definitely not a place you'd cook dinner. We saw where the SUPs were and wouldn't have ventured into that water, and they share the lake with a neighbor, so you can't go past an invisible fence once you get into this "lake." There are also a bunch of Airstreams that a couple of guys were working on right next to the place, so I felt like we were intruding.
The location was stunning, along the Colorado River, and the night skies are crazy gorgeous. That said, it still is about a 10-minute drive to downtown Palisade. Next time we stay in the Palisade area, I would prefer to book a motel for this price. I thought we'd have extra perks with the animals and outdoor activities, but that wasn't really the case.
Overall, it was a clean place to shower and stay the night, and if that's what you're looking for, then it's functional!
