Breathtaking Sunrises in the Smokies :: A Cabin for Families near Cades Cove

With a stunning view of the Chimney Tops, Mount LeConte and all the glory of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Sky Haven Lodge overlooks Laurel Valley from atop the foothills of the Smokies.

After a restful night's sleep on one of 5 beds (spread through 3 bedrooms and common spaces), wake up each morning and enjoy coffee on one of 3 decks with views for miles (no, literally -- like, 13+ miles!) and air so fresh your lungs will thank you.

From there, take your time making plans for the day in your spacious 2,700 square foot getaway. With two common areas, a large dining area, game room and a gigantic loft, there's space for everyone to kick back and have fun.

Enjoy breakfast (or lunch or dinner!) in our 10-seat dining area or outside on the screened-in porch.

What to do? Oh, the list is endless! Stay close with a tee time at Wild Laurel Golf course or head over to the clubhouse pool and get refreshed. Just around the corner are numerous outdoor adventures for the entire family, including: Hiking, rock-climbing, tubing, kayaking, fishing and more! If you'd prefer to take it easy, there are several scenic drives nearby, and beautiful Townsend with its local shops, crafts and restaurants is less than 8 minutes away.

Of course, you're also just minutes from Cades Cove, the Tuckaleechee Caverns, and Clingman's Dome, with the Island at Pigeon Forge and Dollywood/Splash Country both just 40 minutes away.

When your day is wrapping up, enjoy the fire in the sky at sunset. If it's cold, cozy up next to your gas fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa. And as the night gets dark, head up to the top deck for unparalleled stargazing.

An exterior security camera monitors the parking area, giving you extra peace of mind. While smart thermostats provide maximum comfort and smart locks so you'll never have to keep track of a set of keys!

An absolute dream vacation!The property was as described: amazing views and the hosts have thought through everything that would make a stay worthwhile. Games, some books and information on things to do. Easy communication with the hosts as well. We’re looking forward to returning in the future.

The Perfect Cabin

Our family enjoyed our stay. There was more than enough space to spread out and relax. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and made check in simple. We definitely plan to come back!

Great place for a girls’ trip!

The cabin was a beautiful place for our girls weekend trip to run The Great smoky Mountain 5K and half marathon! It was comfortable and beautiful. The drive up the hill is a little scary, but the views from the top were worth it!

One of our favorites

This was our second stay here. This cabin is wonderful! The location is perfect if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to go t town if you want. The views are spectacular. The cabin is clean and cozy and perfect for families. The different levels make it nice.

Family Thanksgiving

This was a great house to host the whole family in one place. The kitchen was very well equipped for anything we needed. Games and activities were provided. Everyone enjoyed the pool table.

Just what we needed!

Our cabin was so nice and cozy. Everything was clean and they made good use of all of the space. Our grandsons really enjoyed the kids area downstairs, especially the teepee! It was also nice not to be in the crowded areas of town and to be a little more rural. We would definitely stay here again!

Wouldn’t Change a Thing!

This rental was the best in every way possible! From the helpful communication from the owners, to the ease in finding the property, to the beautiful house, to the amazing views from the balconies…this is one of the best (if not the best) houses we have rented. Our family enjoyed every minute there and we will definitely be back if in the area again!

Great house and amazing views!

This is a clean and cheerful cabin with fantastic views. The owners were extremely quick to respond to any concerns. It is minutes away from all the outdoor activities in Townsend, and a short drive to other popular towns and attractions in the Smoky Mountains. Our family had a wonderful time, felt so comfortable in this home, and would love to make a return trip.

THE LAUREL VALLEY LODGE

The lodge was well kept, clean and equipped. We enjoyed having the space. The view from the balcony was fantastic. The lodge is located on a steep hill and entry into the graveled parking area could really be improved with concrete.

Spectacular view of mountains

Cabin was as advertised, very clean and well appointed. The Mountain view and morning sunrise were spectacular! The road is a bit curvy and steep in a couple of places. Three couples had their own bedroom and bathroom. The owner was very friendly and extremely responsive to our questions. Would definitely come back again!

A great place to stay

We stayed four nights, five adults, a 10 year old and a 12 year old and there were 0 complaints. The views are beautiful, the kitchen is well stocked and there was plenty of room for all of us. There were puzzles to do and my nephew LOVED the pool table. Check-in was a breeze. We did have a power outage but the hosts were quick to communicate back and help identify the issue / give us expectations on when it would be back up; thankfully lights were back on in about an hour. Great place!

Beautiful Cabin with Amazing Views

We had a wonderful week at Sky Haven Lodge. The cabin is beautiful and has amazing views of the mountains. It fit the needs of our family of 9 perfectly and was in a great location. We loved the “quiet” town of Townsend. My kids and Grandson enjoyed the pool several hot days and my husband and son loved Wild Laurel golf course. We will definitely stay here again. Chris was a wonderful host and responded to all our questions very quickly. Thanks for letting us enjoy your beautiful home.

Perfect place for our family!

The stay was amazing! It was perfect for our family. The views were spectacular. We even saw a bear right next to the house climbing a tree! The check in process was easy and the owners were very communicative. One thing to note, the drive up the hill to the house is steep, but for house in this location, expected. Just make sure you use caution. Other than that it was everything we hoped for!

We had a great family time at the house peaceful and quiet!! True mountain experience all the way. The drive up to the house and driveway is steep and narrow, that was the only kinda bad part. Other than that this house is great and about 30 minutes from the main pigeon forge and gaitlibburg

Wonderful home with a breathtaking view!!

Our family so enjoyed our stay at the Sky Haven lodge. The cleanliness of the facility went beyond our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and spent a couple afternoons there swimming. We visited River Rat tubing which is only 10 minutes away and had a wonderful time. Cades Cove scenic loop is definitely a must when visiting the area. The hosts were just a phone call away when we had a question. The view of the mountains off the back deck was breathtaking. We highly recommend this home for your stay in Townsend. It is very accessible to all the sites, trails, and towns nearby.

Amazing Cabin!

We were very happy with our four night stay including Thanksgiving! The cabin is even more beautiful than the photos. The views from the cabin are incredible! The cabin is located away from the hustle and bustle yet there are restaurants, coffee, sightseeing adventures and a brewery close by. We enjoyed Cades Cove, Tuckaleechee Caverns, Spruce Flats Falls, Dancing Bean Coffee and Peaceful Side Social Brewery during our short stay. The cabin was perfect for two couples, an 11 year old and 15 month old. The furnishings were all very nice and comfortable as well as very clean. The beautiful fireplace was enjoyed by all. The children’s area is an added bonus. Upon arrival I received a call from the host. What a nice touch! We would definitely love to stay here again!

Kimberly and I have spent our lives living in every single state in the Southeastern US, but today we call Philadelphia home. Living in the city is exciting, but this family of ours is a mountain family at heart. We long for trails, rivers and waterfalls -- to venture into the unknown and come back with a tale or two. (Oh, and we *love* Dollywood!) Our children are already asking us if we'll "move to Tennessee one day" so they can bring their children to visit. And well, that settled it. We decided to get our own little dream home. But life's still life and we can't leave Philadelphia right now; so we're opening our dream home up to fine people such as you, to explore and enjoy the very land we love so much. We would be most honored to host you.

The very best thing about Sky Haven Lodge is that it can serve two purposes: If you need to get away and clear your mind of all the insanity that is "life" today, this place is for you. Secluded, yet accessible; quiet and spacious with all the amenities you'd need -- the Lodge has it all for you to take a deep breath and RESET.
But if you want adventure? It's got that, too. Refreshingly away from the all the tourist-y stuff, Sky Haven Lodge boasts nearby hiking, tubing, fishing, rafting, golfing and swimming. Oh, and if you want the Dollywood/Island/Ripley's experience (which we often do, too)? No worries, it's just 35-45 minutes away.
And perhaps our favorite in this post-COVID world, this cabin is fully set up for remote work. With a work station (and places to sit in every room), enjoy 300mb WIFI throughout the cabin -- great speeds even out on the decks! And with so much space inside and so much to do outside, it's not hard to bring your family along and keep them active and entertained while you do work, then spend quality time together.

• In the loft, there's a baby gate; perfect to give a family with an infant toddler a fun, safe space to enjoy
• The main floor has a jetted tub, screened-in outdoor eating area, and cozy fire place, giving you multiple ways to unwind all year long.
• Downstairs, enjoy the game room with a convertible pool and ping pong table, as well as a NES Classic in the commons area.
• The crown jewel of the downstairs is Kid's Adventure area, crafted to give young children numerous imaginative activities to do.
• Enjoy 3 decks -- on each level -- two of which wrap around. With so much space overlooking so much beauty outside, you might never want to go inside.
• The bedrooms on the main floor and downstairs boast pillow-top king beds that will send you off to dreamy sleep and the loft offers two queen beds with equally lovely mattresses.
