The Duck Lake Inn is the perfect beach house vacation home in western Michigan for entertaining or hosting that family reunion. The cottage features towering spruce trees lining the gated entrance to over 2 acres of beautifully landscaped lawn and gardens. Perfect Beach House Retreat

We had a great vacation on Duck Lake. The property is the most beautiful and complete that we have seen: beautiful flowers and plantings, a beach on the lake, a super pool, a tennis court (w basketball hoop) and a comfortable beach house where all 9 of us were comfortable. The best part was the outstanding support that Dave, the owner, gave us. He even took us on a boat tour of the lake. We enjoyed a table tennis tournament and learned pai gow on the poker table. The place has everything a large family needs to have a super active time together.

Perfect location for a magical long weekend.

We really enjoyed staying at The Duck Lake Inn. It was the perfect location for a Duck Lake State Park wedding. Thank you for a nice stay!

3 Generations making memeories

Dave and Chris Thank you for sharing your home with us. The memories these 3 generations made this week will never be forgotten. We swam in the heated pool almost ALL DAY, every day. Some never like swimming before and some were perfecting their dive, by the end of the week everyone loved the water and each one of us dove off the diving board!. But the pool wasn't the only part of our wonderful week. We played tennis, ping pong, fishing, used the kayaks, paddle boards, trampoline, and enjoyed the hot tub. But one thing we will always remember was all 15 of us (ages 4-64) played laser tag around the trees on the lower level. We took a speaker with us and played Star Wars music, we had so much fun. There is more, the flowers and the landscaping were so beautiful, the sunsets, the stars in the night sky, the bald eagle was quite a bonus! This isn't just some place you just rent out, you can see the love you have for your property. thank you again, The 3 Generations of Roos Family

Duck Lake Inn -great time with our family!!

Chris & Dave Thanks so much for opening the “Duck Lake Inn” for us and sharing your amazing resort with our family. It truly is a “Gem” of the Michigan Western shore and accommodated our family of 13 perfectly. Not sure where to start-maybe the stunning view of Duck Lake from the Inn, or maybe the even more stunning sunsets blasting across the smooth as glass Duck Lake. We know of no better place to celebrate Father’s Day, not only for me, but my son and sons-in-law and Judy’s birthday both on long tables in the majestic front yard shaded by huge pine trees. The guys really, enjoyed the “tight” rim of the basketball hoop and the professional quality tennis courts. As for the kids, the pool was the rave, but the kid friendly sandy beach allowed for great lake experiences full of sandcastles, smores and campfires by the lake. Thanks for your special hospitality touches, the beautiful grounds, the Duck Lake wine and of course the highlight, Capt. Dave’s antique water taxi boat ride around the lake. Perfect family getaway

I have nothing but great things to say for our week spent on Duck Lake. We fell in love with the property and view instantly. The grounds were meticulously manicured and the house was spotless. It felt like home away from home from the first instant. Dave was a very accommodating host and responsive to any need.The lakefront beach was perfect for our kids and we enjoyed many sunsets down at the dock. This house and property has everything you would be looking for in a lakefront rental. We will hopefully be making a trip again next year!!

Amazing Property and Host

After you pass the bright red mailbox and wind down the tree lined driveway you find yourself at a beautiful lake house. Lush gardens, small pond in the front, front porch compete with rocking chairs. Warm pool and hot tub with a nice pool house to keep beverages near by. Surrounded by tall trees with a gorgeous view of the lake. The lake is clear and the sandy beach is perfect for sunsets. Our 9 year old kept referring to the place as magical. The inside of the house is fully stocked and perfectly comfortable. Just as meticulously cared for as the gardens and lawn. The architecture of the old home is inviting but has all of the modern conveniences of home. Strong wifi if you need to keep track of work or want to stream a movie from literally anywhere on the property, ac for those humid nights, dishwasher and washer and dryer to keep up with messes. Dave, the host, is the nicest person you will ever meet. He is attentive and considerate. We were greeted with wine and fresh bread for toast. Text updates were sent to let us know when Riley, the young man who took care of the pool and grounds, would be by during the day and would collect the trash. Both Dave and Riley were available to answer any questions or give recommendations for local trails, mountain biking trails and sights/events to attend. Two members of our group are physically disabled, and the property and house were perfectly accessible to them. The only difficulty came with the pool ladder. Stairs would have been preferable but that is the only thing I would change about Duck Lake Inn. This place is great for multigenerational family vacations and for making memories! 10 out 10 would recommend and we plan to be back!

Best Host EVER

"Wow! This is gorgeous," was our first impression when we turned off the road onto the tree lined drive. The white house with rocking chairs on the porch, fresh cut flowers on the table outside the door, welcomed us to into this homey space. Bottle of wine on the table, bathroom goodies, the house fully stocked with anything one would want. All carefully orchestrated by our wonderful host, Dave. He knew we were going to stream a college graduation, so he upgraded the internet (I'm not sure we had anything to do with it, but it was noticed and appreciated). The birthday cake I had shipped to the house arrived early, and he unpacked it and placed it in the refrigerator. He helped us arrange for a boat, provided folding tables and chairs we set up for a candlelit celebratory dinner by the pool And the landscaping.--100 year old foxgloves, pots overflowing with flowers, meticulous planted and cared for by Dave. Our days were spent on the boat or in the pool. Every evening we walked down to the lake and watched the sunset by the fire pit. A perfect week!
