We loved staying here! Our host Jo was so accommodating and really just took care of every detail. The view is gorgeous. We really enjoyed the back deck with the grill and the porch swing and the birds and the view of the mountain and Lake Glenville. We will be back!

Perfect Short Respite

My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights at Lakewood Lodge in celebration of our 47th wedding anniversary! Our stay could not have been improved upon!! Jo greeted us upon our arrival and walked us through her home to make sure we were aware of all amenities! She guided us with restaurant and activity choices and was always available if we had questions!! We slept soundly through each night on a fabulous mattress!!! And, the newly renovated bath was beautiful and perfect with new, fluffy towels!! The kitchen was fully equipped and clean!! The den was cozy and comfortable with extras provided for entertainment!! And, the covered porch with its gliders, swing, and “fire pit” were heavenly!! Fans provided extra comfort as we relaxed, watched the birds, and enjoyed the lake and mountain views!! We have precious memories to get us through returning to “reality”!!Thank you, Jo

Lakeview Lodge

We have always loved staying at this home and it is even more desirable since new kitchen granite, new bathroom surfaces and others have been installed. We love sitting on the long deck overlooking Lake Glenvillle. Great vacation!

Wonderful escape from the summer heat!

Each summer we travel to the mountains for the week of the Fourth of July. From now on we will always go to this lovely home. Its location is perfect for viewing the fireworks from the its porch. The accommodations were 5 star. Trillium is a lovely club and the facilities are first class.The clubhouse is beautiful and the dining is wonderful! And the icing on the cake was our delightful host.

Fabulous Stay at Lakewood Lodge

We just returned from a fantastic stay at this beautiful property. Lakewood Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The property is tastefully decorated with lovely furnishings and decor. The home is well appointed with everything you could possibly need from beach towels and spices to dvds, games, paper products and every kitchen gadget imaginable. The kitchen itself was spotless and completely updated as were both bathrooms which had the fluffiest white towels. Everything in this home was labeled and organized so it made things easy to find and operate and even easier to put away. The view from the deck was absolutely breathtaking! We sat outside on the deck every morning and afternoon. Internet was very strong; my husband had no issues taking care of a few work issues that came up. Finally, the property itself is located in Trillium Links and Lakes which is very close to Cashiers. Grocery and restaurant trips were a breeze since we were so close to town. Jo is truly the hostess with the mostess. Thank you Jo for a wonderful stay!

Best VRBO ever!

We have been coming to Cashiers for many years and the only times that were a disappointment were when we planned too late to get a reservation at Lakewood Lodge. The floor plan, the furnishings, appliances, cooking equipment etc are wonderful and the view from the full length deck of Lake Glenville is beautiful.

Lake View Retreat

The home is beyond perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly want!

Jo’s home is impeccable clean, organized and cared for. She is wonderful to work with and we loved it all. Never heard or saw her even though she lives below. Great vacation spot!

Great Place with both privacy and access to Cashiers/Highlands

Very well maintained home with many features clearly identified. Owner was very responsive, courteous, and easy to work with. Owner lives on lower level but was very quiet and private. Great view of lake below. Easy access to Cashiers and area towns. Look forward to returning and highly recommend it.

beautiful respite and attentive host

One of the most interesting views. The home was thoughtfully designed , well appointed and very comfortable . We particularly enjoyed the expansive balcony. The navigation of the Vrbo process seemed time consuming and hopefully can be tweaked.

Great rental

This house is clean and well kept and has a beautiful view! The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need if cooking and dining in. Comfortable beds and living area and great location within the trillium community. Owner was responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend!!!!

The gorgeous view, the cozy fire and the thoughtful details!

We stayed at Jo's beautiful mountain home for too short of a visit during our daughter's winter break. We were amazed by the gorgeous views and often bundled ourselves up just to sit outside and read or play chess and take in the scenery. Our second favorite place to sit was by the cozy fire, where we also helped ourselves to Jo's movie collection each evening (my daughter was thrilled to see she had all the Harry Potter movies - with the additional DVD features that we had never seen from our streaming services! Jo was so easy to work with, her home was impeccably kept - and her attention to detail was much appreciated. The fact that every light switch, cabinet and pantry shelf is labeled makes it so easy on the guests! We hope to visit again - and make it our mountain home away from home.

Romantic Getaway for Two

The majesty of the views took our breath away. Meticulously cleaned and maintained nook in the mountains of North Carolina. We had an amazing experience to wake with the colors of the sun and to watch the snow fall on our first day. A perfect setting of beauty to enjoy the music of nature. Recommend the warmth of this place to any person or persons wanting to leave the world behind for even a short time.

Great Mountain Retreat

My wife and I stayed for the weekend for a brief getaway and we thoroughly enjoyed the house. Especially during these interesting times, we appreciate a tidy and clean house and it's clear the owners feel the same. Moreover, it was obvious the house had undergone a deep clean following the last tenants and this provided an additional level of comfort. The owner was very responsive to the small questions we had and was gracious and accommodating. The views from the balcony were terrific and it was a terrific place to relax and enjoy a drink after hiking in the area. Kitchen was stocked with all the basics for when we cooked, really didn't need to bring much at all to enjoy the weekend. Overall, a great although too brief getaway and the house was a key reason for having such a good experience. Highly recommend.

First Class Place

The home was beautiful and well equipped. Amazing views over the lake to the mountains beyond. Being in Trillium was the reason we chose to pay a little more for this place. It is a great area. We were there in November and due to COVID all the food service was shut down so hard to speak to most of the amenities. I did get to play and Jo was very kind to help with that. All in all a great experience. Only thing that would keep us from renting again is that we couldn’t bring our dog.

In September 2021, I moved from Atlanta, GA to the Lower Level unit of Lakewood Lodge. I have a separate, private entrance with full amenities and installed a sound-proof, lockable door between the interior levels.

I enjoy all the classes at my local Rec Center (Zumba, TRX, Yoga and Pickleball), church ministries and volunteer activities.

It was truly "love at first sight'" the first time I drove through this area on a trip. The natural beauty was awe-inspiring, and I vowed then to live in this "heaven on earth" someday.

After receiving the Grand Opening announcement from Trillium in 1997, I jumped on the chance to come up. I was impressed with the award-winning community design, Lake Glenville views, and the proximity to Cashiers.

As a full-time resident I've enjoyed exploring all the Trillium hiking trails, Whiteside Mountain views, and the many local waterfall trails. There are many more local restaurants and shops to enjoy in Cashiers and the nearby small towns. The vast array of things to do is delightful for guests of any age and I'm happy to share these "gems" with my guests.

My lot was specifically selected due to its awesome year-round lake views and the privacy afforded by the private island opposite my lot. I built my home high on the lot to best take advantage of the lake and mountain views. I love the feeling of being in a tree house when I sit on the deck.

My custom home was designed especially with rental guests and friends & family in mind. The bedrooms all have their own baths and are separated from each other for privacy. The furnishings were selected with the help of a local designer.
