2 bedroom, 2 baths, steps from the beach, sleeps 8 with inflatable queen mattress.
Clear to ocean view in Melrose with all the amenities of home. Living Room and both bedrooms are ocean side. Cable TV & wireless internet. 4 new HD tv's. New linens, pillows, bedcover and memory foam mattress pads. Both bedrooms have direct access to large, screened porch overlooking the ocean. Fully equipped, open kitchen.

Daufuskie Island is boat accessible only. Take a ferry or one of many private water taxis from Hilton Head, Bluffton or Savannah to get there. Your personal vehicle will be left at the departure location and a golf cart will become your means of transportation while visiting Daufuskie.

Enjoy your morning coffee watching the sunrise over the ocean from the large screen porch with rocking chairs, soft seating and a high-top dining table. Master bedroom has a King bed with a large private bathroom, 2 vanities, walk-in shower, Jacuzzi tub and toilet. 2nd bedroom has 2 Queen beds with large private bath with double vanity, tub/shower, toilet. Both bedrooms have an ocean view and direct access to the screen porch. Also includes Queen size inflatable bed.

You will fall in love with Daufuskie Island on your first visit. It is a vacation like no other. The craziness of traffic, tourist and crowded beaches are not our idea of relaxing. Your Daufuskie Island vacation begins when you leave your vehicle on the mainland and board a ferry or private boat for a fun ride over to the Island where you can often see Dolphins. After a short 30-45 minute ride you are so relaxed and ready to kick back and truly enjoy all the nature, quiet beaches, long walks & golf cart rides.

Feel any stress in your life instantly go away with the soft breeze of the ocean air. Tour the island on your golf cart and enjoy the nature and peacefulness. You may see rare birds, alligators, deer, fox squirrels and more!

At a specific point on Daufuskie Island you can see Hilton Head, Savannah and Tybee Island, but those crowded beaches are in the distance as you enjoy a private beautiful beach. If you want to see more of the local living enjoy a meal at the Daufuskie Crab Company, at the Freeport Marina, D'Fuskie's Store Eatery & Bar, On-Deck Diner, at Daufuskie Island Distillery, Frye's Corner, Driftwood Diner or The Sportsman. Visit The Iron Fish, The Community Farm, The Daufuskie Island Distillery (Daufuskie Rum Company), Daufuskie Blues for indigo dying classes and beautiful merch, Boohags, "a coastal chic bootique", The Light House at Silver Dew Winery.
In addition to our beautiful beaches, the Melrose Pool is open (seasonal).

Outstanding

An amazing villa for a fantastic 3 night get away. A beautifully decorated villa that was spacious and very clean. Communication was easy and prompt. The screened in porch was my favorite spot to enjoy coffee and start the day on island time.

Beautiful views from the screened porch!

We absolutely loved the view from the screened porch. I enjoyed sipping coffee, reading, relaxing in the mornings with our dog while my teenagers slept. This is our third trip to the island and really enjoy the slow pace and serenity!

Loved this Villa!

Everything about this villa was amazing. This was the cleanest property we have ever stayed in. It smelled fresh and clean the moment we walked in. Everything was decorated beautifully. We had everything we needed for our stay. It was just as described. The host even went above and beyond to leave out a pack and play for our infant to sleep in since we were trying to minimize the amount of luggage we could take on the boat. We would definitely use them again!

Best trip ever!!!

We absolutely loved our week at Daufuskie!! The Captain’s Choice was perfect for our family. The moment that you enter through the wonderful porch and see the ocean…”I could stay here forever!” The decor is so beautiful, and the villa is very well equipped..from the kitchen..to the beach chairs and toys!! Everything is extremely clean, with many special touches. The communication prior to our visit was immediate and so thoughtful in every aspect of our trip planning. We also enjoyed the Melrose Pool…but the beach is perfect for young children too!! Don’t hesitate to plan your trip…and Captain’s Choice will be your trip ever!!

Smooth Sailing at the Captains Choice

We had a wonderful stay at the Captain’s Choice. It was well furnished and decorated in happy colors. The unobstructed view was beautiful, bedrooms were spacious and the screened front porch was comfy and huge. This was our first time on the island, and we loved the laidback vibe of both the people and their dogs! The host was kind, accessible and provided lots of needed information. We highly recommend Captain’s Choice.

So Relaxing!

We just loved everything about our visit to Daufuskie - and most of all the Captain's Choice Villa! It is tastefully decorated, very clean, and has the perfect location. We wanted to get away from our busy life and this was the perfect place to do so. Brad was always a text/phone call away and checked in on us to be sure we did not need anything. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and most of all the view from the screened-in porch - which was huge! We loved this Villa and hope to return soon!

Peaceful, Easy Feeling at The Captain's Choice

We recently finished our second stay this year at The Captain's Choice, and it was just as wonderful as the first. You cannot beat the view from this spacious and cheerful villa. If we weren't throwing tennis balls to our dog on the beach, or tooling around in the included golf cart, we were relaxing on the enormous screened porch. The Captain's Choice is as peaceful and beautiful as the island itself, and we hope to return next year. By the way, I haven't found a nicer host!

Beautiful and clean condominium seconds from the beach

We rented this condo for my parents during a family trip to Daufuskie. The cleanliness and layout of the condo were excellent. The condo and kitchen were well stocked and we enjoyed cooking several large family meals in the kitchen. The screened in porch looking out to the beach was wonderful for our summer evening dinners and family time. We definitely recommend Daufuskie Island for those looking for a pristine isolated beach and clean and spacious accommodation steps from the water.

Lovely spot to unwind

We really enjoyed our stay! Yeah place was extremely clean and well put together. The decor was adorable and we felt right at home. The porch is amazing! It’s fully screen and plenty of seating, both casual and dining. Loved the outdoor games as well. The 6 Person golf cart was ideal and we thoroughly enjoy driving right around the island. The only negative I would say it’s not about the place, but just the island in general as far as logistics go. It was a great deal of time and expense to get to and from the island. It’s understandable that the ferry was $60 but to have a shuttle cost $30 each way per person when it’s only a 10 minute ride was seemed unreasonable. If I were ever going to death whiskey, Island again, I would definitely stay at this place without question!

Terrific Villa!

Our family of 4 stayed in The Captain's Choice for 4 nights in July, 2016. The villa was fantastic. Very clean and well-stocked for our stay. We couldn't have asked for a better location; a short walk to the pool and the beach. The view of the beach from the front of the villa was amazing. The screened in porch was a great place to enjoy the cooler mornings. The beach was relatively secluded. We saw only a few people on the beach any time we were on it but were mostly alone on the beach. The beach was clean and a great place to find shells. The pools were nice. The larger of the pools was a bit warm for the weather we had during our stay so the smaller and cooler of the two pools was somewhat crowded during the hotter part of the day. Service at the pool was nice and the Lava Flows were delicious. We had a problem with the golf cart charging but Susan, the property manager, was very responsive, sending someone over to take a look. It was nice to have the golf cart already at the villa and accessible to get us around. The family above us, with 4 children, was very noisy. We could hear the kids running and jumping all day and evening. The only reason we would consider another villa would be to avoid the additional noise from the above unit. Otherwise, there isn't anything that could have been better during our stay. We took May River Excursions to the island because we liked that we could determine what time we left and they were willing to take unlimited baggage. The captains of May River Excursions were friendly and always on time. We booked our ground transportation through Daufuskie Island Ground Transportation and Freddie was our driver both ways. Freddie was very friendly, knowledgeable, and hospitable. He too was always on time. Daufuskie Island was charming. It was very quiet-not at all crowded. There were 4 restaurants, with only one having indoor/air conditioned eating space (Eagle's Nest). The pizza at Eagle's Nest on Monday night was delicious. The Old Daufuskie Crab Company had good service and good food. Marshside Mama's had good food but terrible service, filthy outside tables, and was completely over-priced. We wouldn't eat there again. We didn't eat at Melrose, only drank their Lava Flows by the pool. We absolutely loved our stay at The Captain's Choice, loved the island, and hope to return again in the future!

Relaxing family getaway

We had a great stay here (myself, my wife, 12 year old daughter and 10 year old son). This was a great location, and the villa was very nice. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed exploring the island and eating at the various restaurants. The hosts were kind very good at communicating through VRBO. Highly recommend.

Great spot!

We enjoyed a four day stay at this ocean front spot. The owners were incredibly responsive and accommodating. The location is great, and the house was spotless with great amenities. Will definitely stay there again.

Paradise island

We had a wonderful time on Daufuskie! And The Captains Choice was a little piece of heaven! It was very clean, great location, wonderful view. Love Love Love the tall ceilings, spacious front porch, large rooms and large bathrooms. We had everything we needed with beach chairs and towels! Wonderful place to call home for a short period of time. We didn’t want to leave!

Truly the best!

This place is probably the most beautiful and clean VRBO we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean! Decorated beautifully, comfortable furniture with everything you could possibly need! The porch was huge and well furnished, a spot for everyone with a fantastic view of the ocean. When it was too dark to see the ocean, you can hear it and feel the ocean breeze. I highly recommend anyone going to Daufuskie, to stay here. Thank you, Terri!
