We are so happy to have Maui Sands Seaside 719 re-listed to offer as a vacation charmer!
Maui Sands Seaside is an oceanfront property gem offering old-world Hawaiian charm. It's a calm, serene place with beautiful, lush grounds located directly on the ocean. The unit, itself, is beautifully remodeled using the best materials.

This property is a small, peaceful, low density ocean-front condominium. Located on the most desirable west side of the island in Honokowai at the northern end of Kaanapali. Think serenity and quiet relaxation. The sundeck on the front of the Maui Sands Seaside property offers a perfect perch to watch the breathtaking sunsets while also appreciating the beautiful islands of Molokai and Lanai across the channel. Turtles are often spotted swimming and lunching on the volcanic reef that runs parallel to the shore, and during whaling season, there are so many of these majestic animals that one visitor referred to it as "whale soup!" Monk seals, spotted eagle rays and spinner dolphins are also spotted from the property. It's a great area for snorkeling off the property as the sets of three reefs protect the swimmer from larger ocean surge during low to mid tide.

Unit 719 is a private, second-floor unit that has been totally remodeled, offering hardwood floors, solid cherry cabinets, granite and glass mosaic tiles in the kitchen and granite and travertine in the bathroom. The unit offers beautiful furnishings, two flat-screen TVs, high speed wi-fi, and original artwork. The living room sofa opens up to a queen-size comfortable bed offering convenience to families. A PakNPlay is included and a high chair is available upon request. The kitchen is completely stocked with enough gear to cook almost any meal, and the unit has both ceiling fans and an AC wall unit in the living area.

Many conveniences are located within walking distance of the condo. To the south and across the street is a large grocery store, fish market,bakery and hispanic market, convenience store, several eateries for both eat in and a food truck park. To the north is Napili and many more beaches, restaurants and shopping areas.

A parking spot is assigned to the unit.

Please enjoy full use of #719 and the grounds of Maui Sands Seaside while you are here.
There is the sundeck as well as lounge chairs across the oceanfront lawn of the property for sunbathing. There is also a BBQ located at the bottom of the ocean side stairs for guest and residents use.
Please note this property does not have any shared pool access, but the proximity to the ocean makes it absolutely ideal!

I am the owners property manager, and I live on Maui. You may call, email or text me with any needs you have. My husband and I have lived on Maui for 32 years and we are happy to make recommendations to help make your stay more enjoyable!

Maui does have a public bus system, and works great for getting around West Maui. The bus stop is located just south on the road in front of the ABC store. If you want to wander further afield you will want to consider renting a car. I am happy to make recommendations for you.

*This unit does have AC that is more than adequate to cool the space, and is located in the living room. There are both ceiling fans and floor fans in the living room and bedroom. Please note that as Maui has some of the most expensive electric in the US, we keep it on a timer to mitigate costs.
*Smoking in or outside of the unit and pets are not allowed.
*We have a 5pm check in and 11am check out unless prior arrangements have been made. We ask you to plan ahead as we may not be able to allow early check ins and late check outs as often as we would like.
*We take your safety and well-being seriously. We have a comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing program for this property. Our cleaning service and on-site staff are spending as much time as necessary to make sure that all areas of your rental are thoroughly cleaned before you check in.

For check ins on Christmas and Thanksgiving day our cleaning service charges an additional holiday cleaning fee of $75.

Perfect location!

The location is perfect! It’s close to our favorite beaches, and the ocean front observation deck is the best for morning coffee and whale watching. The condo is somewhat dated, but very comfortable and homey. It had everything we needed for our two week stay, and we will return!

Short but Sweet stay

My family and I spent a wonderful stay with the ocean less than 50 yards away. The nights were filled with ocean sounds that sent us into a wonderful sleep. The neighborhood is located near many areas to shop, snorkel, or just walk around enjoying the beautiful scenery. We would definately stay here again.

Great value in Paradise

We stayed here for our last few nights of our Hawaii trip. We were in Hawaii for 8 nights so we experienced a lot already and really appreciated the homey feeling of this vrbo. There are better beaches in Kaanapali but right outside this vrbo you can catch amazing sunsets. The location is great, next to some good non hotel restaurants and grocery stores which we enjoyed.

Old-style Hawaii oasis in beach resort area

This property on the ocean is an older building, so the rooms are relatively spacious with a nice balcony and mature jungle garden setting; and this unit is nicely renovated. We enjoyed listening to the waves at night and the birds in the morning. The neighborhood consists mostly of very large resorts, with the beach and many decent eating options within walking distance.

Magical Condo & Location

We had an absolute blast! The condo was perfect for us and the nearby beaches were spectacular! We spent all of our time exploring the sands and waters and joined a luau at the hyatt right down the street. Sea turtles are everywhere and the reef right off the property kept us busy for three glorious days! We highly recommend this space. My 9 year old daughter says "this is the best beach ever" and we are from San Diego, so that says a lot!

Great location, super convenient

We had a lovely week at this property. Heather was very professional and prompt with her communication, and we were very happy with the accommodation. Great location near Ka’anapoli, with lots of restaurants, a coffee shop, park and beaches all within walking distance. We had plans to go father like the road to Hana but we stayed in the area most of the time because it was comfortable and everything we needed was there. The guest book with recommendations was super helpful, and we consulted it regularly. The apartment was spacious and we could hear the waves at night. Overall great experience! Thank you.

Great place!

Pretty much had all the comforts of home. Enjoyed watching the turtles feed from the sea wall. The facilities are nice. We did learn this condo is about 3 miles from shopping and 5 miles from Lahaina center. We didn’t rent a car. We didn’t realize the pool was not for the use of this buildings occupants either. Overall we would stay here again, our plans would just be different. Thank you

The location of the property is nice and we liked having designated parking so we didn't have to worry about finding a spot. It's a great place to watch sunsets and it was a short beautiful drive to lots of beaches and places to eat. The condo had everything we needed. My only issue, and please take it with a grain of salt, is they have an AC unit in the main living space but no AC in the bedroom. If you leave the windows and bedroom door open it's cool in the morning but my wife and I had trouble sleeping because with the windows open you hear every conversation of people coming home late and when we got home in the evenings to go to bed it was 78 in the bedroom which is warmer than we're used to. My mom and dad would say that 78 is freezing so again take it with a grain of salt. Overall it was a great value and we would stay there again.

Fantastic Location and Full of Character!

My husband and I stayed here in March of 2022 and overall were really happy with the condo. It's in an older building with fewer units, and we really liked the friendly, quiet, homey ambiance. The unit is reasonably comfortable, and the lanai overlooks a lovely garden space. We also loved being close enough to the ocean to hear it at night even if we couldn't see it! The kitchen was also well-stocked for preparing meals. The condo is close to some really terrific and convenient places to eat, and that was a definite plus. Bear in mind that with convenience comes some traffic noise. I do think the online description of the unit and property needs updating. Yes, there is a shoreline and beach behind the property, however from what we could see there was no way to access it from the seawall. You can enjoy the view but you can't sit on the beach or swim. I think it's also worth mentioning that there is no washer-dryer in the unit or in the condominium complex itself. If you need to do laundry, you'll have to drive to the laundromat in Lahaina. We love staying in West Maui and in this particular neighborhood. Mahalo for the welcome!

Would Definitely Stay Again After Some TLC

My family of four stayed at this rental 4 nights. We tried to highlight the pros/cons that were most relevant to us, but keep in mind that everyone has different comfort levels, and we absolutely did enjoy our stay. Pros: Manager Heather is exceptional - responsive, kind, thoughtful. We messed up and showed up too early. She and the cleaning professional appeared initially flustered, but they kindly accommodated us when they did not have to. Heather also answered all questions via email that we had, and quickly. Location - walk to amazing farmersʻ market, coffee shop, ocean. Kitchen - had everything you could need - pots, pans, blender, coffee maker, utensils, portable dishes, dishes, large fridge, all appliances. Size - perfect for our family of four. Noise level - one night was noisy (remedied by my husband just talking to a neighbor over the balcony), but others were not at all. Although basically sandwiched between two parking lots (one for the condo, one for the neighboring complex), youʻd never know because the trees blowing in the wind and the sound of the ocean block out most noise and trees make a pleasant view. Complex View – Whale watching is a short walk away! Cons: BEDS - Beds were horrible. The bedroom bed was rock hard, and the living room sofa bed was basically a memory foam topper on an old lumpy sofa bed mattress that tilted toward the head of the bed, so you sleep with your head lower than your feet. Luckily, my kids can sleep anywhere. Beds can make or break your stay, and the adults did not sleep well at all. Cleanliness - The cushions on the chairs, the decorative pillows on the bed, some of the sheets in the closet, towels (bath and beach) showed wear and stains. Chair cushions looked dirty. When I saw the decorative pillows looking soiled, I asked about the comforters and how often they were changed out. I was told every month. Everyone has different comfort levels, but that grossed me out. However, the cleaning professional gave us clean comforters, and the manager instructed me that a clean comforter was in the closet. If I didnʻt ask though... The woman cleaning tried to say that our bodies donʻt touch comforters. They do in my house! The unit needed a regular deep clean to clean wall stains, dirt/dust under furniture and on baseboards. With overall TLC/deep clean, getting rid of soiled cushions/pillows, and a change of beds (at least a topper in the room), weʻd give 5/5 stars instead of 3/5.

Good stay, terrible AC policy

The place is nice enough, doesn't have a community pool to use fyi. I understand the electric bill is very high in Maui but the timer on the AC was ridiculous. It only has max a 4 hour timer on it so waking up every morning at 2 to 3am hot just to have to turn it back on was horrible. No other condos I have stayed at in the 10 years I have been coming here has timers on their AC but a thermostat to control the space temp. If you don't mind having to wake up to turn cooling back on then this place is good enough to stay at. Everything esle was fine. The person in charge of the place was very responsive to answer any questions. Thank you for letting us stay at this place but I won't be renting this place again strictly for the AC timer reason. Thank you.

amazing location

I loved the location. It is a seconds walk from the ocean with an observation deck. We saw dolphins, crabs and turtles. There is snorkeling right outside the building. There was only one issue and I know it is hard to handle. There were quite a few ants in the place when we arrived. I know that is an island wide issue and I don't cast blame on anyone, but, when I woke up the first morning and had ants crawling on my cell phone on the night stand next to the bed, it was a little surprising. It did not ruin our time at all; I just mention it so that if there are people who would freak out over this, just understand that Maui has an ant problem. Otherwise, 10 stars across the board (I know it is a 5 star rating system, but, we did love the property)

Perfect getaway

I stayed alone and it was so very nice. The place is clean, great walking distance to food trucks & Farmers Market. I would definitely stay here again. It felt like more of a local spot than touristy which is my ideal.

Our stay was great. Location of unit close to everything. Lahaina is minutes away. Explored the area in did some great snorkeling close by. Swam with the turtles! Would stay again.

Wonderful stay

From booking to final instructions the process was incredibly simple. Location was great, short drives to different beaches, as well as walking trails to beach access. Great view from the sea wall right outside the condo. The condo is well stocked, and the only thing that would have been great was an apartment sized washer/dryer. Other than that, our stay was very memorable

Complete your Maui vacation

This unit was exactly as it was described, and also as everyone else reviewed - a little dated, but very well equipped and clean unit on the beach front. The kitchen was especially well stocked (as being a family with small kids, it's essential to be able to cook on vacation!). There are basic spices and also the full range of condiments in the fridge. We also appreciated your 'beach outing set' - beach towels, beach parasols, 4 beach chairs, a bodyboard, pool noodles, and insulated picnic bags (with an ice pack in the freezer). I must also note about how useful it was to have a Maui guidebook and also a hike trail guidebook. It was very successful vacation for us, so thank you to the owner and also to Heather.

Listen to the waves crash from this lovely apartment in paradise!

We had a wonderful stay at Maui Sands Seaside. The apartment is beautiful, clean, stocked, and very private. Lush landscaping gives wonderful privacy to anyone enjoying the lanai. While the apartment itself does not have an ocean view, one step out the front door allows you to look down at the ocean. In January we watched whales blow and splash far in the waters and sea turtles swim near shore. This location of this rental is very desirable. We knew we want to stay in West Maui and nothing could beat this price and location! Our family of 4 was very comfortable in the apartment with 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed. The kitchen is stocked and cleaning supplies were provided. We especially appreciated the small vacuum after sandy days at the beach. We prepared almost all of our meals onsite and were in need of nothing. My 5 year old appreciated the sand toys and we appreciated the beach chairs and towels. This place has everything you need for your Hawaiian vacation!

Great Place to Stay

Everything you need to enjoy Hawaii. Condo was very nice and comfortable. Very well decorated and new appliances. Just a short walk to the Ocean with great spots for whale watching. Very friendly complex that is a mix of owners and people on Vacation. Heather was great to work with before our trip and when we first arrived. We hope to back again next year. Great value for your money!

Carol and her family are the owners of this lovely unit. Carol formerly worked as a neuropsychologist and an educator. After gutting and remodeling their beautiful unit, they were able to enjoy living in it for many years.

Maui Sands is a gem offering old-world Hawaiian charm. It’s a calm, serene place with beautiful, lush grounds located directly on the ocean. The unit, itself, is beautifully remodeled using the best materials.
This is a very peaceful property and the unit feels extraordinarily private for the proximity to neighbors in the building.
