This elegant retreat has been completely remodeled, it’s not just a place to stay, it will become a part of your stay. Before even opening the door you're greeted with a pineapple carved into the entry way stone, a symbol of welcome and hospitality. Mountain and partial water views from the private lanai, see the sky change colors at home while the sun sets or watch from the beach right across the street.

The beautiful Kihei Alii Kai complex has elevated walkways between the buildings with palm trees and tropical plants along the open air breezeways. A built in gas fed BBQ, picnic area and sport court is just steps from your front door, plus a pool, hot tub and sauna/bathrooms in the center of the complex (may be closed w/o notice for maintenance & repairs). Easy to access unit via elevator with only a couple of steps needed to get to the front door.

One bedroom fully furnished unit with polished Italian Travertine stone floors throughout, granite counter tops, fully stocked kitchen, hand built mahogany furniture with palm fronds and bamboo reliefs inlaid, split A/C (living room only), 60" Big Ass Fans-Haiku ceiling fans in living room and bedroom, in unit Bosch washer/dryer, WiFi, Apple TV for streaming, Lanai dining set, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, beach towels, queen bed and walk in travertine stone shower with overhead rain feature.

Free parking on site, outdoor showers for rinsing off after coming back from the beach/ocean, nearby restaurants, coffee shops, breakfast and even snorkeling rentals all within walking distance.

This is an open floor concept so there are no privacy curtains in the living room for the large back glass wall that leads to the lanai for an unobstructed view and no bedroom door so your storage closet isn't blocked and air can flow freely. There is no A/C in the bedroom so it can get warm, but plenty of fans and usually the trade winds are blowing.

Kihei is on the leeward side of Haleakala and the South (West facing) side of the island, this means the least amount of rain and the most sun! Just down the street is the 3.5 mile paved Wailea Oceanfront Boardwalk which is great for morning jogs, evening strolls and sunsets while people watching at all the resorts. Makena’s just a short drive with beautiful Big Beach, (Little Beach if you’re brave enough) and Secret Cove. Near the best beaches, airport, stores/shopping, Lahaina, the mountains, hiking, Maui Aquarium and golfing. As close to being in the middle of it all without BEING in the middle of it all.

*complex has security cameras covering parking and common areas/structures. Our unit has an outside video camera covering the front porch/entrance for security purposes. No devices (video or audio) are inside our unit. Condo improvements aren’t always immediately reflected in the listing photo's.

Pool, hot tub, sauna (complex owned & operated), beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, beach towels, snorkel gear and similar items are not a guaranteed part of your stay, they are provided as available however maintenance, repairs, safety and/or supply chain issues can affect access.

Great Stay!

Beautiful condo. Nicely appointed with Hawaiian colours & art. The location is perfect. There is minimal noise & the north facing lanai protects the unit from afternoon sun & heat while allowing a blow through breeze to cool the area. We really enjoyed the comfortable outdoor furnishings.The kitchen is clean & well equipped. We would definitely stay again .Mahalo.

Perfect Stay

This condo has it all. Very well decorated and taken care of. The kitchen has super nice appliances and every utensil you could want. A larger than normal lanai with loungers and a table and chairs and a view of the wind turbines. The complex is quiet, well maintained and has a great swimming pool area. Highly recommend.

The communication with the host was easy and friendly! Always prompt to reply. Amenities were perfect, lots of items available for use at the beach, room was comfortable and inviting, and kitchen had everything you needed. Excellent location to beach, we look forward to returning.

Beautiful, Clean, Comfortable with a great location!

We have zero complaints about our stay at this condo! Justin & Anna were wonderful to rent from. The condo is very clean, very comfortable and has everything you need for your stay! I loved how well organized the condo was with lots of labels and a book full of instructions! The pool was quiet during the day and I love the “give a book take a book” shelves in the office. The location is perfect walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and beaches! We would highly recommend this condo and would love to stay again!

Babymoon

We decided last minute to take a babymoon and lucky for us, someone cancelled an hour before we booked. This property was in an incredible location and perfect for relaxing and getting out of dodge. Thanks for facilitating our last hurrah before our newest little monster comes!

Fantastic Place to stay in Kihei

This property is condo-walking distance to beach, food & shopping as it is located in the middle of Kihei so you are very close to the ocean, the fantastic beaches and the many shops and stores.The condo is very clean and well stocked with any items that you would need during your stay including beach chairs, beach umbrella, snorkel / fins and boogie boards. We really enjoyed deck area as it has a great view as we spent a lot of time enjoying the warm sunny weather throughout our 2 week stay. We also enjoyed the pool area as a break from the beach on windy days as it is very sheltered.Justin and Anna were fantastic hosts as they communicated quickly with us during check in and check out. Maui vacation

We had a lovely stay at this property! The location was so great. Walking distance to the beach and many shops and places to eat. The accommodation itself was beautiful, spacious, clean and the private pool was a nice added touch. Would recommend and would definitely stay again 👌🏻

Perfect in Paradise.

Great location, within walking distance to the beach, shopping and restaurants. The condo is very clean, well appointed, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The complex is well-maintained with a great barbeque and pool area. Justin and Anna are great hosts, very helpful and communicate in a very timely manner. We stayed for a month and enjoyed every day. Terrific place. Thoughtfully stocked by owners for a nice beach vaca

Very clean. New(er) beach chairs, umbrella. And full stock of toiletries, cooking supplies, glassware all made a big difference for an 11 night stay. Nicest place (of 4) we have stayed in Kihei. Owners seem to actually use the place regularly themselves so obvious the extra upkeep and supplies i.e. plenty of nice large beach towels (looking back I realize how many beach places we’ve rented that just have bath towels). Longer stay so we cooked breakfast a few days and it was nice they have plenty of olive oil, salt/pepper, and quality cookware. Similar to beach towels - not life changing but ultimately made for a nicer vacation experience than other places we’ve stayed that have similar photos but didn’t make the same investments/upgrades for the day to day experience. condo has a few chargers and short extension cords for easy phone charging. Nice job! We would love to return.

Amazing Stay!

This Vrbo was a great stay for my girlfriend and me. It was right on the beach with shops and restaurants all around. Justin and Anna were very attentive to detail and thought of everything which made our stay even better. They were also great at responding which is something we highly value. We would recommend this property for anyone vacationing in Maui.

Excellent stay!

This condo was absolutely perfect. It was a great location with a short walk to the beach. Parking was not an issue and made it very easy to get around. There were many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The condo itself was wonderful. The balcony was beautiful. They have top-notch fans and an AC that we could use if needed. Everything was spotless! The pull out couch was perfect! They had a fully stocked kitchen with everything we needed such as plates, utensils, pans, paper towels, spices, ice packs, etc. They also provided all of the beach necessities such as towels, chairs, and an umbrella. We would absolutely stay here again! They were very quick with communication to answer any questions we had, and were very clear and reasonable with their requests.

Perfect for a Honeymoon!

I am writing this review as we leave Hawaii and I have to say this location is (if anything) undersold! First of all, you are directly across from a beautiful park and beach where you can watch the most beautiful sunsets on the ocean and you can also enjoy this view from the beautiful balcony in the condo at sunrise. The food around it is all delicious as well. The building itself is clean, beautiful and has great amenities but let’s focus on the condo itself. It is so much more spacious than we were expecting, far more updated, and very comfortable, filled with anything and everything we needed during our trip from beach towels and chairs, to a fully stocked kitchen for cooking and coffee in the mornings. Honestly this place is amazing and you will 100% not regret staying here. Should we be welcomed back we will rebook here in a heartbeat during our next trip to Hawaii.

I began staying at the Kihei Alii Kai complex around 2007 and instantly loved Maui, Kihei and the KAK (Kihei Alii Kai) as it's called. Always clean, quiet, well maintained and close to the beach. The open breeze ways between the buildings with palm trees and plants feels like your own personal forest. Beautifully tiled pool/hot tub coupled with the best weather on the island and it was a done deal, we'd save up and buy our own place to eventually retire here.

About our condo's name, Honu Aumakua.
Honu:
The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle. You’ll see them frequently in the water just across the street at Kam1 and once you've been face to face with one it will stay with you. Our own experiences with them led to this connection, your may as well. Given our chosen professions you may then understand how the next part fits.

Aumakua:
Being of both a heavenly and earthly nature. An ʻaumakua is an ancestor who has come back in a different form. An ʻaumakua helps, inspires, guides, and communicates with members of the family. They are our protectors and so we become theirs.
