Amazing place to stay! It had everything we needed or would have needed if we were staying longer. The quality of the bed linens and towels are excellent. Pillows are great and the bed is very comfortable. The shower and water temperature are amazing! My favorite part is the water temperature never decreased my whole shower! The heat and a/c work great and is very quiet! It is a very relaxing place to stay and I cannot wait to go back! I love the location to WCU. The response time from the owners is amazing, too! We found a great little restaurant to eat at in Sylva called Speedy’s Pizza Pub. I travel a lot and this studio apartment was one of the nicest, cleanest, and most relaxing places I have ever stayed. A huge thank you to the owners for the love and care they put into this place.

Absolutely beautiful space, it had everything i needed for that weekend. Super close to the WCU campus as i was there visiting my daughter for her birthday. The kitchenette was perfect for cooking. I can't wait to stay there again. It was the perfect little getaway!

Russ and Hillary were wonderful hosts. I could live in this space. Their daughter was the genius designer of the space. No expense was spared in this conversion. It was clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. My husband was at an early music clinic all week at the University across the road. I sat on the deck in the glider working on a pineneedle basket. I would recommend this property to anyone and would stay there again if in the area. There are gorgeous day trips in any direction.

Great location very good communication!

The Studio is great for one or two people. Nice sitting area, bed, bathroom, and they had great pillows. I enjoyed the ice trays and Britta water filter too.

Thank you! We had a lovely stay. The location is so close to WCU where we visited our daughter. It was very convenient to campus. Our host also provided a nice cup of coffee which was much appreciated the next morning!!

Great location near WCI

I needed a quiet place near WCU so that I could attend a conference but not have to stay at a hotel. This was perfect. I definitely will stay here again.

Comfortable and Immaculate Property

This is absolutely the cleanest and most comfortable vbro that I have stayed in. The host's communication was excellent and the studio apartment had everything you might need while away from home and more. We would highly recommend staying here.

I am the CEO of a financial services company, and my wife is the coordinator for transfer advising and a faculty member at the nearby community college. I travel a lot for business, usually staying in hotels. When we travel together (which is more frequently these days), we prefer short-term rentals. We want this to be the kind of place we'd like to rent, and we'll work hard to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

We've owned this house since 2003. A "new" master suite was added back in the early 1970s. When our kids moved out, we moved back into the "old" master suite to make way for a rental. Our location is perfect if you're a parent visiting a WCU student, or if you're coming for a campus tour. The space is designed to feel comfortable if you have to hang around (this is a temperate rain forest, and locals know that WCU stands for "We Carry Umbrellas!").

You won't want to spend too much time indoors, though. You might prefer a drive to Cherokee to visit the casino or watch some elk, or a shopping trip to Waynesville, Bryson City, Cashiers, or Dillsboro. If you're on two wheels, we can help you plan a route that will keep your knees in the breeze all day long. You bikers who prefer human power will enjoy the Fire Mountain Trails located in Cherokee. If 4-wheeling is more your speed, you'll want to hit the Wayehutta OHV trail and sling some mud.

No matter what you want to do in the mountains, Catamount Overlook is the place to start and end each day.

We designed this space especially for the comfort of those visiting WCU. We had one daughter graduate from WCU, and another who attended college in a small rural town halfway across the country. We know what it's like to drive long distance or have to fly to an airport an hour away from your destination. Catamount Overlook is ready to invite you in the moment you arrive. More than a hotel room, and not as cavernous as a house, this spacioius studio apartment has all you need within reach.

If you plan to work, we have super-fast wifi. There's a smart tv so you can access your favorite streaming service for tv and movies. The small but functional kitchen has everything you need for a night in, and your hosts will help you find the perfect dining experience for a night out.

If you're visiting WCU, there's no other place like Catamount Overlook. Leave your car behind and walk to campus or to one of the nearby off-campus apartment housing complexes. If you're attending a football game, skip the traffic and enjoy a 15 minute walk to the stadium. After the game, you'll be home before most fans get out of the parking lot.
